  1. yes Christie rocks along with the other PA's. Its good to hear from other Hurley Bandsters!
  2. If you are having lapband surgery it is a piece of cake. I too was very scared but it wasn't as bad as I thought. Yes I had to stay just over night but it wasn't that bad. After your IV is started the nurse will give you something to relax you. You will be taken to a holding area where you stay until the Dr is ready for you and then they will take you to the surgery room. I remember scooting over onto the surgery table but I didn't care. Thats where the medicine they give you through your IV comes in handy. Next thing you know you will be waking up and it is all over. Other than the nurses drawing your blood after a few hours that is the worst or maybe having my finger pricked to check my sugar that is a little uncomfortable. You will need to walk walk walk after surgery to get rid of the gas pains from having surgery which is where they blow your abdomen up with gas so the dr can get in there to do the surgery. You will be fine and believe me I love my band. I have lost 93lbs since my surgery Oct 3 2007. Hang in there and keep in touch. There are plenty of people to support you on this site. Good Luck
  3. I am a Hurley Bandster. I was banded on Oct 3, o7. Dr. Wagoner was my surgeon and he is the greatest. Dr Farhan is also the greatest. I love going to the Flint Bariatric Center. I can't say enough. Keep in touch and let me know how you are doing.
  4. Has anyone experienced having more band restriction when under a lot of stress? I haven't had a fill in 2 months but lately my band gets tighter when I experience a lot of stress. Anyone ever have this happen? It seems like when my stress level is down I have no problem. But when I have a bad day at work with lots of stress, I can't get anything to go down. Has anyone experienced this problem?
  5. I had my last fill on april 28. I definetly can tell the band is tight. At times I get indigestion and discomfort but not all of the time. I am trying to decide if it is a case of what I am eating isn't agreeing with the band, or that i have ate too fast or maybe the band is a little too tight. It has been 4 weeks since my fill so I would think the band is just doing its job. has anyone had a rough time with fills? this is my 3rd fill and i had no problems with the first 2. any ideas for me?
  6. The pain was in my chest and it felt like the worse indigestion I have ever had. I walked around and rubbed my chest and I finally vomited a little up. The pain lasted about 5 minutes or so. I hope I never have to experience that again. I have ate slower today and not too much. I am fine now. Thanks for your reply. It helps to know I have someone to support me! Marcy
  7. I need some input: Last night I had an attack after eating baked fish and a baked potato. I don't know if I was eating too fast or ate too much. I was banded oct 3, 07. The pain was horrible along with I tried to vomit. Is this normal band behavior? I have had 3 fills so far.
  8. I found using baby food plastic containers are wonderful for packing my lunch. My niece has a 6 month old so she saves the baby food containers for me. :crying:
  9. why an unfill? what were your symtoms? I have only had 2 fills and lately my band has been letting me know it is there. I have the worst pain in my chest like my food is getting stuck. I'd like to hear from someone to let me know is this normal?
  10. hey close, how are doing? Glad to hear you are a Flint bandster. Do we have anyone else from Flint?
  11. I'm from Fenton just north of you. I go to the Hurley Bariatric center for my fills. I had band surgery Oct 3 2007 at Hurley in Flint. keep in touch
