  1. Give it time. Your body takes roughly 6-weeks to heal.
  2. No regrets here! Though I am pretty young I know I needed to get hold of my weight quick. 245lbs @ 18 is NOT healthy. Thanks to my band and the realization of what it means to eat right and the importance of exercise I have lost 100lbs+ in 8 months! I definitely never imagined being below a size 20 let alone a size 6 and possibly smaller! So, no, no regrets at all.
  3. There's no saying what your weight-loss will be or if it will be steady. Some weeks a lost 1lb other weeks I lost 5lbs. Weight-loss is rarely consistent. Keep your eye on the end prize but don't give yourself time limits. Keep counting your calories and exercise daily if you aren't already. Both will greatly aid your weight-loss.
  4. Glad you liked it! Spaghetti squash is a staple in my diet now. I eat it with chicken and alfredo sauce when I'm not in the mood for spaghetti! I've even used it in stir-fry. FYI. To cut down on the cooking time you can put it in Water upside down in the microwave for 4-5 mins or until the skin is soft to touch or when you can stick a fork through it.
  5. You will do fine and surgery will be a breeze!! Let us know how everything goes. You'll look back and laugh at how nervous you were once it's all said and done.
  6. I ate chicken, lol, though that's all I eat now. I never suffered from the last meal syndrome as I know there isn't food i CAN'T each, just food I choose not to eat.
  7. I lost 45 after 2 months after I was banded but keep in mind this is not the same for everyone. Some lose quicker, others slower. I noticed around 20-30lbs lost when I was dropping clothing sizes.
  8. It IS delicious. I still make it nowadays but with some meat added in to it. Pasta free lasagna!
  9. Congrats that's an awesome loss!! You'll be at goal in no time for sure. I hope you're celebrating each pound!
  10. Protein bars..haha. I like ricotta cheese sweetened with Torani sugar free syrup and peaches.
  11. Walk and move around as much as you can but don't overdo it. If GasX isn't working maybe try another type of medication.
  12. I did a lot of soups and broths, though try to stick to low sodium as canned broth/soup are insanely high in sodium. Protein shakes are good during that time. Look around for some recipes! Good luck.
  13. Yes getting banded after bypass is entirely possible. It's usually known as band over bypass or BoB. http://advancedweightlosssolutions.com/default/weight-loss-surgery/types-of-procedures/band-over-bypass That website may help you along with Obesityhelp.com
  14. Cauliflower is amazing! I've eaten it mashed, with stirfry as mock rice, and even to make pizza!
  15. Can't say I've had cabbage and spaghetti but I love using spaghetti squash as a pasta substitute. Delicious!
  16. 8 oz of Ricotta cheese 1/2 cup grated Parmesan 1 large Egg, beaten 1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning salt & pepper to taste 1/2 cup Marinara Sauce 1/2 cup shredded Mozzarella Cheese Mix ricotta cheese, parmesan, beaten egg, seasonings together and place in a oven proof dish. Pour marinara on top and top with mozzarella cheese. Bake it in the oven @ 450 for about 20-25 minutes (best) or nuke it till hot and bubbly. I usually made it first in the oven and heated the leftovers in the microwave.
  17. How much protein are you eating each meal? Aim for at least 20g a meal. I eat every 3-4 hours. I usually eat on schedule to keep my metabolism going. If I don't eat on schedule my stomach usually doesn't growl for 4 hours. I try to focus on my protein.
  18. I usually track what I eat each day online. There's a lot of websites you can use. (I used myfitnesspal) which tells me calories, carbs, sodium, protein, sugar, fats, and others. I've tracked probably since I started eating solids after surgery. I don't really switch it up. I keep my calories under 1200, my carbs under 50, my fats under 50, and my sugars I rarely worry about. Nowadays I don't really track anymore. I slowed down last week so I haven't been counting anything using a website; I try to do it in my head as I don't have any want or need to track what I eat for the rest of my life unless I get off track and need to. I was successful last week, 2lb loss, and I'm hoping to continue that this week and on.
  19. It will go away. Mine didn't last that long and Gas-X strips were enough to make me feel a bit better. Keep walking and moving when you can. Deep breathing may help a bit.
  20. It can take a few fills to feel restriction. Do you have another appointment set up for a fill? What are you eating? Are you getting at least 60-70g of Protein a day? Are you exercising? Until you have restriction it's all on you. Be aware of what you're consuming, drink your Water, exercise, and you should be okay.
  21. I'd say you're overeating or eating too fast. I've never had this feeling nor can I say my full feels that way. I feel satisfied; full is when I eat too much.
  22. Definitely getting PS. I do plan to do a lot of weight-lifting and programs like P90X (which I start in 4 weeks ) to see if it helps any. I know building muscle tone can work wonders, so we will see. In the end I know I'll need PS but I'm giving myself more time to save up and be as healthy as possible.
  23. I'd definitely say the sodium. Canned broth and canned tomato juice/sauce/soup are extremely high in sodium. Drink more water and stay off the scale for awhile. Going on it everyday really will bring you down, and not in the way you're looking to see. Try to stick to one day a week.
  24. I wouldn't eat it. Not only is it pasta..it's canned and probably full of sodium, not the healthiest option. Maybe try ricotta cheese, pasta sauce, and some cheese baked. Much healthier.
