At the halfway point!
Congrats! Soon enough you'll be celebrating your goal!

44 lbs down and now I can feel my port ..
I'm pretty close to goal and I can feel my port, but I have been able to all along though now it is more prominent and I don't have to feel around for it. My surgeon automatically put a low profile port in, so no, it won't poke out like the normal ones once I am at my goal weight.

for women only a question????
Rarely do people get catheters during Lapband surgery..I've only heard of a few people who have. Either way, it's never a problem. Good luck with your surgery! Hoping for a quick recovery.

New to the site. Looking for some answers.
1. As long as you meet your insurance's requirements, you are usually okay. 2. No, never smoked, and I wouldn't advise doing so. If you're getting this surgery to get healthy, you should probably kick that habit as well. Smoking can lead to a lot of complications during and after surgery. My surgeon will not operate on a smoker; it's too risky. 3. Some doctors can go in through the belly button to do the surgery. 4. That's about right I took off 2 weeks because I had the time, but could have gone back sooner.

So here is a question, are you rewarding yourself at your goals?
I said at 150lbs I would let myself have a Reese's Cup. Not the most healthy reward..but, I've been craving one for awhile now. When I'm at goal I'll do P90X, see what toning I can do, then my last reward will definitely be plastic surgery.

Where is your port?
To the right and up from my bellybutton, though it has shifted since surgery.

What time do you have your last "meal"??
I try to eat no later than 7:30PM. 8:00PM if it's the weekend and I know I'll be up late. I exercise before I eat dinner. I give myself 3 hours from my last meal until I go to sleep.

Disappointed in ME
At least you realize that you need to change..now do it. You're obviously not happy with your weightloss thus far. Somehow push yourself to go exercise, or start off small by taking a walk; anything to get you moving. Get rid of the candy and the junk food. Ask your husband for help! He is your support. Maybe he can give you the push you need.

Does anyone ever NOT get a fill?
It's possible! I've lost almost 85lbs since May without a fill.
-
Relapsed
Maybe you're a bit swollen from your fill..but I'd go back to the dr. Reflux is never good sign.

Exercise ideas to prevent flabby arms? Legs?
Do weightlifting and run. Other than that you can only help stretched skin so much.

Vitamins
Same here! Though I'll be switching to normal swallow Vitamins soon.

Need suggestions. I'm stuck.
Thank you guys :smile2: You're all so helpful. I promised myself to stay off of the scale until Thanksgiving. Here's to hoping it moves during that time!

Need suggestions. I'm stuck.
I have yes. I'm almost fitting size 10 jeans that I couldn't pull over my thighs (lol) a few weeks ago. I guess I am losing inches but it's bothersome to not see the scale move in almost a month.

I am in ONDERLAND!!!!!
Congrats! Definitely a good feeling.

Need suggestions. I'm stuck.
So for the past few months my weightloss has been fine. Usually 2-3lbs a week, sometimes 4lbs, but not frequently. I've tried to be reeeally patient with myself, and I know plateaus do happen, but the scale hasn't moved for a month, and I have no idea what else to do! I've upped my calories by 200+. I'm getting 100g+ of protein a day. No more than 50 carbs (used to be 30 but I couldn't eat 200 more calories without bumping my carbs). I've upped my exercise (doing P90M, the one before P90X). I don't graze. I don't eat unhealthy things at all yet the scale isn't going anywhere! I'm stuck at 162lbs. People keep saying maybe that is where my body wants to be..but weighing 162lbs and only being 5'3, I'm still considered to be overweight by a good 20-30lbs. I'm looking to hit 120lbs. But that really seems unreachable right now! So, does anyone have any ideas? I'm eating about 1200 calories a day, 5 meals a day. I workout everyday. I was considering doing liquids but that isn't always wisest. Any ideas..from anyone? I'll consider anything.

Hard lump under incision - 22 mos post-op
It's either scar tissue or your port. You'd be surprised how much losing fat can shift things around.

How much protein do you eat daily?
100-120g a day.

Questions?
Never heard of a PT appointment. Maybe you could ask your surgeon what it is? As for the psych exam, it really is a breeze. I was worried myself but all for nothing. It's really just a one-on-one talk about the surgery, seeing if you're ready/willing to make the changes, if you have a support system behind you, etc.

too many tests!
As Paigey said it all depends on what your insurance requirements are. All I had to do was a blood test, the typical pre-op physical, and a psychiatrist/nutrition visit. It's all worth it in the end though!

Should I request a fill
I'd request a fill..with a new doctor. How can anyone work with someone who is keeping them in the dark? Did you not question why he took your fill out? Do you wonder why he doesn't tell you how much he put in for your last fill? I can't relate, as I've never even had a fill, but point is, you want a doctor who is open with you. Maybe it's just me but that situation seems a little shady. JMO.

Haven't lost an ounce...help!
You're healing. Before our surgeries and right after we, for some reason, have such high standards and expectations. While many people lose a lot of weight during the pre-op liquid diet as well as the post-op liquid diet, that rate of weight-loss does not last. Point is, you're still healing. You will be until you're 6-weeks post-op, if not longer. Right now focus on that. Stay off the scale, as it really doesn't help you except cause obvious frustration and doubt. Allow your body to heal first before you're looking for it to continue to drop weight. Surgery takes a toll on the body, keep that in mind. Continue to track your food. Maybe up your protein if you can. Take a short walk around the block and see what it does for you. Get into the routine of exercising when your surgeon gives you the go-ahead.

What colour are your scars?
I was banded in May. Mine are fading and are pink, but you can still of course see the port incision; the others healed well and are fading. I use silicone scar sheets on them and will use bio-oil/fade cream when I'm ready.

Do you measure your food? If so... how much do you eat in a sitting?
I measure my food down to teaspoons; crazy. I eat no more than a cup of food at a time.
