  1. Happy 37th Birthday kerri76!

  2. Happy 36th Birthday kerri76!

  3. I was banded 5/10/10 and have lost 45lbs. I am exercising 3-4 days per week and typically reach my doctor's goal of 65-70 grams of protein daily. I have had my thyroid, CBC, metabolic panel and Vit D checked, all were normal. I am tired all the time. I get approx 7-8 hrs of sleep per night and some days am able to take a nap of 2-3 hrs (rare because I work full-time). I do have a 9 month old so I am still recovering from having a baby (c-section) in December. I am also losing a lot of hair and even my hair person said that I am thinning on top. It is usual for me to lose hair but this is much more noticeable. The shower drain is full nearly every day. I am taking my vitamins. Any thoughts?
  4. Kerri, I havent seen you around, how is everything going?

  5. Kerri,

How's it going? I haven't heard from you in a lil while. I am frustrated at the moment b/c I haven't had my first fill (which is on the 1st) and I'm gaining weight back. ARgggg!!!! I can't wait till I'm cleared to go work out at the gym but I feel like I am the biggest person in the whole gym. Again, argggg. Any news from your side of things?

  6. I was banded May 10th and am currently in "bandster hell". My surgeon told me to stay away from carbs. That is hard! Everything has carbs. I am not a big meat eater. I was actually going to go vegetarian. Anyway, my issue with the doc saying no carbs is that I could have gone on the Atkins diet instead of getting the band. I thought the band allowed me to eat "most" of the foods that I enjoy but in VERY limited quantities. Am I mistaken? I went grovery shopping last night and nearly everything that I picked up had carbs. I know that overeating caused my obesity but is it really the carbs? I would appreciate ANY advice! Thank you!
  7. Kerry, can you wear your jeans yet? lol... I thought I was the only one... I lost 12lbs and they are tighter than before the surgery..haha

    good!! it's not just me!

  8. I don't know how many calories I should be consuming. The dietitian didn't spend a great deal of time with me. I am eating 3 meals a day and only snacking if I am absolutely physically hungry. Here is what I ate yesterday: Breakfast: Weight Control oatmeal (1 packet) Lunch: Tuna salad (5-6 forkfuls), Refried Beans (1 cup) w/ sprinkle of cheese, Salmon (1-2 oz) Dinner: Sloppy Joes with Turkey meat (2 sandwiches WITHOUT the buns), Green Beans (1/2 cup), Fries (Handful) Water (2 liters) No exercise yesterday :-( I have absolutely NO restriction and am able to eat nearly anything (haven't tried everything) and a fairly large quantity. I stop myself when I think that I am "satisfied" even though I would love to eat a LOT more! I am still struggling with head hunger and emotional urges to eat but I have done really well with distracting myself and it goes away. What should I eat? Dr said NO CARRBS, lots of Protein! How many calories? Is there an easy way to count calories for items that are in bulk? food scale?
  9. Glad to hear that you're doing well. I'm finally getting back to "normal" but it was a tough week for me. I am STARVING right now!!! LOL. I am trying so hard to stick to what I'm allowed to eat and the portion, but I am physically hungry, my stomach is practically eating itself! I can't wait until June 8th for my first fill!!!

    Take care!

  10. I'm doing quite well. My first fill is 6 weeks post off, so I think thats some time at the end of June. I am also fighting the head hunger, but I just keep reminding myself that I didn't do this to mess it up.

I have talked to other gals who had the surger and their docs ok'd soft foods after a week or so, so since mine wont do it, I kinda cheated with poached eggs today and some thicker soups. My doc didnt even want me to blend anything... get real!! hehe

Well I am glad to hear that you are doing better, keep me posted on your post op process. :)

  11. Thanks for checking on me! I am doing well. Surgery went great. I am still a little sore but overall feeling well. I have less hunger but am looking forward to a fill in June. fighting "head hunger" daily, sometimes hourly! Ugh! How are you?
