  2. I really wanted to take the challenge but my schedule is so busy this month. I confess, I am a scale whore.

To Fill or Not to Fill.........

I am in the same boat as you. I have 7.4 cc is a 10cc band. At my last fill (06/17) the nurse felt like I had good restriction. I however, disagreed because I was eating more than a half cup of food sometimes, I am really tight in the morning (which is when I went in), and I eat every three hours. I am scheduled for a fill 08/13. I feel the same way I did at the last fill which is what you describe. Tell me what you decide. In fact I was just going to post this in the forum when I read your blog (I read blogs first).....Choices, Choices. My fear is overfilling. Also I've never PB'd or slimed....Not wanting that, ever.

The best decision I've ever made!!!!!!!

I have similar problems with my would be hubby. It's beend 5 months since my surgery and he is getting better about it. He even workouts with me, most times. It is an adjustment and he has to be reassured that you only have eyes for him (he he) Congrats on your progress.

    worried

Welcome! First I would like to say, different strokes for different folks. The ones who complain about lack of weight loss need to be asked these questions: what is their eating routine (specifically how much food and what the meals consist of). The weightloss may not be as rapid as other methods but it does work...with proper fills and eating habits...and a bit of excercise won't hurt either. Sometimes, it does feel like the scale isn't moving especially if that person is a "scale whore" as the sweetspot lady says (like me). Is it a waste of money? No. I was banded Feb25th of this year and have lost fifty pounds so far. There will be some food choice changes but a healthier you is worth it. BTW: There are lots of positive messages here, too. Look for those to read and inspire from them. One last tihng, those who complain about being hungery may be newbies and have not gotten the right fill, yet (aka the sweetspot). Good luck to you and check out pics on my page. There are plenty of people on here who have lost lots, believe me.

    Blowing it out of proportion?

I visit this site about three times a week. It provides support and inspiration. Well last week, I was on here and I decided to comment on someone's blog. I don't comment too often but I felt compelled to because I completely understood the person's discouragement and I wanted to motivate her/him not to base weight loss on pictures taken. Anyway, my would-be husband became upset and acted a fool because I was blogging. First, he started accusing me of being on FB, when he found out I was on this site, he became more upset and started ranting about chatting with unknown ppl and beginning unhealthy/flirty relationships on here. He said they (these relationships) begin with a sob story response. On and on....... I don't get his anger? I don't think I come on here too often and I need the support. I told him that I would not visit as often but I will not give it up...not even to save our relationship? Don't I have the right? I'm not doing anything wrong on here and I don't like feeling like I have to sneak on when I'm not doing anything wrong. Has anyone experienced this?
  9. milythemermaid, I'm not sure what you're asking...please specify.

  10. Day of surgery I was 230. One month later for my first fill I was 230.8 and vert discouraged. My surgeon said don't worry. I was on mushies and didn't reallt have a big meni to choose from. It gets better, believe me.

    First "real" meal post op

You brought back memories with this post. I remember starving on the pre and post op diets and I wanted something full of chloresterol (hope I spelled it correctly) and calories. I went to Red Lobster. I ordered salad with the crab/crawfish stuffed Flounder w/ mashed potatoes and broccoli. I passed on a beverage and the biscuits. I thought I would have dessert too but I was unable to finish my meal. Happy planning!

    Not Losing

A couple of things.... like someone else stated, your band is probably not filled yet so you still will experience hunger and pre-band situations until you get good restriction. Secondly, the band is a tool. It is not a miracle. The weight didn't come on overnight so don't expect it to leave overnight. Third, four pounds is a great loss. Would you rather it be a four lb gain.....? Not me. Lastly, it may make you feel better to know that I gained a pound my first month post op (eating those dang mashed potatoes). So don't worry and be discouraged. Weightloss is coming! Just look at my pics, yet alone others. I was banded five months ago.

YESSSSSS! Can't Shop in Woman's World!!!

I know the feeling that you are talking about. I had that feeling a few months back when I was able to buy 16 Misses at JC Penny. It was wierd being on that side of the store and I kept expecting people to look at me as if I was in the wrong section, but nope! Congrats

The best way to notice is in the clothes, not the scale for me. I fitted new clothes purchases into my monthly budget cause I felt that there no difference when I wore the old clothes. 18 pounds since 07.21 is fabulous. I gained a pound in my first month. Keep up the good work and thanks for your encouragement.

    7/29/10 Tough Love

loved this blog, I am struggling now trying to decide if I need a fill. They said I had good restriction at the last fill and only put in 0.2cc. However, I am still hungry often. When I eat, I get full quickly so I have placed myself back on the pre-op diet to keep from gaining weight. since I'm so close to restriction I am treading slowly toward the idea of a fill. I am 5 mos post op and have never PB's or been stuck (well I kinda got water stuck once from a big gulp but you get the idea). I am about to be a skinny you know what too.

    Surgery Tomorrow!

I only wished I had gotten something a little stronger than gas-X and I needed a few more days off from work. My surgery was on a Thursday and I thought i'd return to work on Monday....it was more like Wednesday and I could've used a few more days after that. Good luck
  19. Thanks for the compliment. As for you I can see a major change in you by comparing the green shirt and brown shirt pics alone. You are doing outstanding.
