  1. Ive had surgery 1/26 almost 2 months and I've only lost 17 lbs. During my first fill I only lost 3 lbs. I do the diet and I exercise pretty regularly. I have noticed that I've lost inches. Don't get discourage just keep on going! As long as we eat the way were suppose to and exercies we will eventually loose the weight.
  2. That's awesome! Can you share some of your tips of success for some of us who are struggling (dropping pounds slow) and still following the program?
  3. Wow, great weight loss! My surgery wa on 1/28 and I've only lost 14 lbs. I've had one fill and schedued to get another one next week. I think I need a little bit more restriction. I work out and watch what I eat. Maybe its just harder for some of us to lose the weight. Who knows but I feel good and my body is toning.
  4. I was banded on Jan. 28 and I've only lost 13 lbs. Before my surgery I was jogging 2 miles a day which I've been doing for years. I wasn't loosing any more weight because I've been doing it for so long and after surgery I was walking so I know that I need to increase my physical activity or exercise. The other problem with me is that while on Mushy food, I would eat fatning foods like mash potatoes and Beans. I know my body and I know my body does not like that food. I just got my first fill on Thursday and today I started my diet measuring all the food I'm eating. I have noticed however that I have lost probably more inches than weight. I think its very important for you to know your body so that you can help it. Now that its been a month, I can start jogging. I will increase to 3 miles than 4 miles. I've always lost weight very slow, tha'ts always been my problem and that's one of the reasons why I got the lap band because after a while I would just give up. Good luck and keep me posted. You are doing great!
  5. I had to say something because I told my Dr. that I felt like everyone was very negative about this and its not a big deal! Those who just got banned need to know the positive side of things as well!
  6. Oh, another thing. Eat broth, that helped me out tremendiously.
  7. Hmmm, I wish I could relate to this but I was not hungy the first week at all. As a matter of fact the first days I had to force my self to eat and would stop when I was full. Maybe you should eat more of the jello, popsicles, and yogurt in between.
  8. I had my first fill today and its not as scary as people make it out to seem in this forum. I went in and we talked about my new food habits and she gave me the fill. Its just like a shot, but even less painful than that. No big deal! So all of you who have not gotten a fill yet, its not scary at all. Believe me if you've had the surgery that was the worse part. Good luck everyone!
  9. I was banded almost one month ago and I don't have that feeling that you described anymore. Be patient, its a process of healing. And remember that everyone heals at a different pace.
  10. There are some people out there who are haters because now they see you as "competition". Don't listen to them continue with your journey. I am so luck that my friends who are all skinny have supported me through out this. They have even joined me in exercising and eating healthier. I told them to watch out because I would be getting into their closets and they are ok with it because they will also be raiding mine! Stay focus and confident!
  11. Hello, I felt like that the 5th day of my surgery. I was in pain. I drank prune juice and it helped. After a couple of days I was back to normal. Good luck!
  12. My surgery was on a Thursday and I was at work on Tuesday. I had a desk job and I was fine. I stop taking pain medicine on Sunday. My abdomen was a little sore but I was fine after a couple of days. As long as you are sitting most of the time, you will be fine.
  13. That is terrible! During the first 14 days, I was instructed to only eat Protein shakes, Jello, posicles and clear liquids such as broth. Not sure what kind of soup you are eating but perhaps you should try some broth. I know my taste buds were in heaven when I did becasue everything else tasted sweet and I'm not really into the sweet stuff. Oh, another think eat really slow and stop once you feel full. Believe me your body will tell you when you are. Good Luck!
  14. Yesterday was my two week anniversay for being banded so I still remember how I felt my first 3 days. I could eat the whole 6 oz. of yogurt or even the 4-6 of protein shake. I listed to my body and if I felt full I stop eating. As of yet, I have not vomitted. I don't think I started eating all the servings they told me until the 6th day. Perhaps, take your time in eating and don't eat the whole serving.
  15. Today is my 2 weeks anniversary! Yey... Does anybody know why I will never be able to use a straw? I am going to a birthday party in a couple of weeks and I do want to drink a cocktail with a straw. Does anybody know why?
