  1. Sorry to hear that, I know all of us want feed backs on our post!! I think everyone is different as far as pain tolerance. The port area will take longer. I think even at 6 months sometimes I would feel my port kinda hurting - just a tiny pain. My insicions didn't hurt that much. I can tell you that I had a second surgery about 3 weeks ago because I had an unresolved slipped and its been taking me longer to recupperate. That's why I say everyone and every situation is different. This time they didn't even touch my port, but my insisions still hurt - like they are really bruised. I guess because of all the scar tissue. Hang in there, I know for me every day it gets better. You will be so glad when you see awesome results. Mireya
  2. To your question about recovery: Physically, is taking me longer than the first time. Like I said 3 weeks (tomorrow) and I can still feel by inscisions very bruised. I can not lift over 10 lbs. and I can not do excrutiating exercise until I go see him next week. Its been definitly a longer recovery than the first one.
  3. Wow, two years? For me it was after a year. Apparently, my doctor only fixed mine instead of replacing. Mine was called an unresolved slip. I think mine happened as a result of maybe the last fill being too tight, something got stuck and my band slipped. I had surgery again and it was not fun. My surgery was almost 3 weeks ago and it was been a longer recovery since the first time. I am kinda scared to get my band filled "too much" now. I only have 15-20 lbs. to go to meet my goal. I am hoping to loose it in a couple of months. When I found out about it I was terrified because I had to "go under the knife again". Now I am fine because everything turned out fine. I also wondered if there were others who had to go back and get this fix and apparently there are!! At least we have had the band for a while now where we know what to expect. Good Luck!
  4. I have problems eating lettuce. For some reason it will always get stuck. I think everyone is different. I try to eat more veggies now.
  5. I was banded on January of 2010 and at the beginning I felt like you did. Now I am about 12-15 lbs from my goal of 145 lbs. It does take hard work I must say. But I've realized that the band is only a tool that you use to loose weight. I not a miracle surgery. You still have to work hard....meaning eat healthy and excercise. Good luck, don't get fustrated at the end you will see results.
  6. That is awesome! I know I get really excited when I see the scale drop to the next 10th digit. That means I'm closer to my goal. Good for you!! Keep it going. I have 10 more lbs. to go!
  7. I know, I was so confused this last time because I hadn't gotten a fill in like three months. But now I know!!! We just have to becareful. My doctor also told me that during your mentrual period it might get a little bit tighter because of the water gain. Good luck everyone and let's keep loosing lbs. until we reach our goal.!!!
  8.    MissLilac reacted to a post in a topic: Too tight?
  9. In Jan. it will be a year that I've been banded and I've learned that some people are just more sensible with the fills than others. Me being one of them. My doctor has had to unfill about 3 times and then one band slipped. I would definitly be very careful and possible visit your doctor soon. I know I like the fact that I wasn't hungry but it doesnt feel good when you can not eat nor drink. Just to be on the safe side, visit your doctor.
  10. I never thought this would happen to me, but it is. I'm having really bad self image issues. My height is 5'6" and I weight now 153.5. My original goal was 145. Well I am 8 lbs. away from my goal. Accordin to my doctor I ideal weight should be 155. But I still feel fat. Is this common? I mean I've never been this weight in my life but I don't see myself "this skinny" Please share some of your stories with me. How and when am I going to feel skinny?
  11. Thanks everyone! I did go to the dorctor and took out 1 cc. Not sure why my band got tight. She said perhaps stress, or something got stuck in my bad.. who knows. I feel much better. I started to feel dehydrated. That is not a good feeling. But the good news is that I lost 20 lbs. in 1 month so I have 10 lbs. more to lose. So excited.!!!! Finally, seeing the results I wanted from the lap band.
  12. I would go to your doctor. When my band slipped, I was not able to eat anything I couldn't even drink fluids. Terrible Feeling! It also felt like I had heart burn. A very bad feeling. The minute the took out all the fluid, I felt fine. Don't let it get worse, because it will feel worse. Go to your doctor asap!
  13. I haven't had a fill since about 2.5 months because I was at "restriction" however, in the past 2-3 weeks I've noticed that it's been getting tighter. It's been getting harder for me to hold down any food Is this possible? My band got tighter within time? I have seen the doctor though withink this time and I've been ok but I know I'm at the point where I feel they have to get some out so I can "tolerate" food. Anybody had this problem and does anyone know why?
  14. Awesome, can't wait until I hit get there!
  15. Wow, 8cc! At 4.8cc's I couldn't eat anything. I was even having trouble with liquids. My doctor is not putting more than that again. Im thinking my sweet spot is at 4.3-4.5 cc's. We'll see!!!
  16. Wow, well at least you are loosing weight. I have lost 30 lbs. so far since my surgery. I have 35lbs. more to go. My nurse told me that my body was just more sensitive than others. I do need a little bit more restriction though so that I can start loosing more weight!!!
