  1. hi! i was wondering how ur scars were way after the surgery! are they too obvious? did u use something to minimize their appereance? i was wondering if there is something to make them fade a bit!
  2. thanks for the the reply... also get that punch in the chest if i dont chew well... i was getting kind of scared, so is it normal? we just have to chew better??? what book is it? what else does it say on food not being off limits, so it just depends on what each person can tolerate? i found out that i get stomach aches when i eat red meat... dunno why... it didnt happen before the band.
  3. what did u eat on solid food phase, b4 ur 1st fill........ ok so, i am at that point where i dont know what to do... i can eat solids already but i havent had a fill, i feel that if i dont chew really good the food gets a little stuck or it hurts a bit... i dont know if my surgeon did a fill at the time of the surgery and i am getting a fill march 8... so, i dont know how much, how often should i eat, and what type of food i should eat... i mean healthy stuff off course, but something i should avoid? like red meat.... i am confused on what i should do until i get my 1st fill.
  4. hi i was banded 1.15 and my port still hurts a little, i cant bend fast, or too much because it hurts, and i am a belly sleeper, so its really uncomfortable, i try to sleep on my side or back and i have been losing some sleep because i dont feel comfortable and when unconciously turn completely... it hurts... it also used to hurt when i coughed, laughed or sneezed but it got better with time... i guess this is normal but if u are really uncomfortable and it hurts so much like u are describing, definitly talk to ur doctor... good luck!!!!!
  5. thank u all for the responses, i am have been eating solids already i find that if i dont chew correctly it feels uncomfortable.... i hope i dont ahve a ob incident after my first fill, but i think i need it... this week has been hard with loosing weight, and i had an ansiety food attack and i felt so sick after eating just because... i didnt throw up, but i definitly had stomach ache... i need to refocus... i am so working out today!!! need to burn from yesterday!!!
  6. hi! ok, so i am 18 days post op and i feel great!!!! but i was wondering, when did u get ur 1st fill??? i am a little scared about getting one because of the pb incidents i have read about and too much restriction things...
  7. hi! i am 18 days post op and i was hungry too!!! sooo hungry! i ate mashed potatoes, they saved my life!!! now i am starting to eat more solids... it wasnt as bad as i thought six weeks and just starting to eat, i am eating just fine and i keep loosing weight! make smart choices, keep your portions small! oh i just remembered, oatmeal also saved my life!!! it fills u up really good!!!! i weighed myself this morning and i am down another 4 lbs in a week! i list 10 the first week... but now i am eating more and i feel great! i havent exercised though, so i think if i exercise i could lose even more!!! dont worry, its really tough at first but u can do it, keep telling urself that!!! good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. hi! dont worry... it took me way more than 3 days! it took me like 8, seriously!
  9. i think its normal... and everyone does heal differently, i am 13 days post op and i feel great!!! everyone is different, just relax, take your pain meds and follow everything ur doctor tells u to do... good luck!!!
  10. thank u everyone... i am feeling much better today, i think i needed that down episode from yesterday to realize it isnt that bad and it is going to get better and well... loosing the weight is great!! i mean the beginning of everything is hard, and nothing good comes easy, we always have to work hard for it... thanks for the support!!!
  11. Omg i am sooooooo tired i even cried today! I am weak, pale, have bags under my eyes, my hair looks horrible, i just feel so miserable..... I called people crying and i hate to wonder if this was a good decision or not... I am sooo hating the band right know and this stupid liquid diet... I cant take it anymore, i have lost 19 lbs since i started my pre-op diet but at what cost!!! Starving and feeling miserable!? I dont want to be one of those people that regret this, although i havent read about the first that regrets this... I am sooooo tired!!!!
  12. ok... so tomorrow is a week and i feel good... although not eating is so horrible... i hate this liquid diet... i weight myself and i am 19 lbs down, since everything started, i mean the pre-op diet and everything... i have lost about 7 lbs since surgery... i am going to see my surgeon on monday, so i am wondering what he is going to say...
  13. hola! no, u are not supposed to burn the same amount of calories u intake... u need a certain amount of calories in ur body that he burns just with daily activity... so burning 500 a day in a work out is great... the more u burn the more weight u loose, but u dont have to burn all that u intake or u are going to become weak and u dont want that.
  14. how did the milky mashed potatoes slowed down ur weight loss??
  15. lol i know its just temporary, but it is so hard!!! i am 5 days already, but i am suppossed to do it for 10 days and then mushy foods... so i still have 5 days of this!
  16. hi! can u tell me what u ate ur first week post op, aside from jello, pudding, milk, broth, protein shake???
  17. I had this problem the following day after my surgery but it went away already.
  18. thank all of u for the nice and ecouraging comments!!! so third day, was better, much better than yesterday, i dont feel as sore, it is basically just gas pain, but i can handle it... i have been walking too, heard that helps, i am doing good on my liquid diet, i dont really feel that hungry, i think i am more worried about doing things right than worrying if i am hungry or not, so the liquid diet hasnt been that hard... thanks again, and any tips and comments are more than welcome!
  19. i dont get it, so upping calories helps loosing weight???
  20. hi! i was diagnosed with pcos two and a half years ago and ever since i have tried to lose weight but it was sooo hard as u may already know, i did some research, talkedto my doctor and she was very supportive about it, she said it could really help and that a lot of women did it because it is so hard to lose weight with pcos... so i say do it, ur doctor is just rude and off course since she doesnt have it she doesnt care! i got banded 3 days ago, just being on a strict diet right before my surgery i had a hormonal change right away... i am 15 pounds down, and hope to keep loding now that i am banded.
  21. hi iwas banded 1/15/10 and i am also dealing with gas pain, the only thing that really helps is walking and being patient... because even walking it seems to take long for the pain to go away a little bit... it is an annoying pain but is not too horrible... just keep walking.
  22. hi! ok, so 2nd day definitly worse than first! i am soooo sore, i dont know if its normal but i am sore everywhere... legs, arms, neck, back, abdomen... i mean sore, sore, sore! i haven't had any nausea, which is good, but definitly gas pain... and too much sorenes
