  1. I lost 107 pounds in about 10 months. I ate very low carb and low fat. Lots of lean sources of protien and veggies. After a few months I started working out. I started out walking on the treadmill, gradually increasing the intensity/duration. Now I walk for 1 minute jog for 4 for 40 minutes. It was very difficult to start working out but now it's second nature, just part of my day. Good luck!
  2. Sorry you are having so much trouble. I hope your surgery goes well!
  3. I would add to figure the wine into your calorie consumption for the day. You should be fine. Enjoy
  4. Glad things are going so well! Keep up the good work.
  5. Hang in there! Restriction will come. It took me 3 fills to feel any restriction. Keep up the good work sticking to your eating plan. Continue to follow your dr. instructions. Congrats on the weight loss so far!
  6. Go to the doc. for an unfill for sure. You have suffered a long time. I would think if you are still getting sick he will surely do an unfill. Discuss with him how much to remove, describe what's going on.
  7. Sorry you are having a hard time. I think what your feeling is perfectly normal. You are giving up a good friend- food. As far as bread goes, I couldn't eat it while I was loosing- got stuck every time. However, since I reached goal I keep my band very loose and can now ieat bread and pasta- as long as I chew well enough. So I am saying, it's not forever. Once you have restriction and are loosing weight I hope you feel differently. Best wishes!
  8. Hope you feel better soon. Keep us posted.
  9. It's such a great feeling to fit into smaller sizes. Happy shopping!
  10. I did lowcarb/high protein. I ate lots of fish and chicken. Also marinated pork loin and flavored chicken sausage. I snack on nuts, cheese sticks and berries. I ate only non-starchy veggies. Hope this helps.
  11. I started seeing lots of hair in the shower frain and noticed my hair getting thinner. I went to the dermatologist and he said not to worry, I wouldn't go bald.. He said your body goes into shock with such rapid weight loss and that causes some hairloss. For me I would say it started about 6 months after surgery and lated about 6 months.
  12. I have read that lots of water allows your body to burn fat more effecieintly. Threre are other bemefots such as helping you stay full longer. Be sure to get losts of fluids, plain old water is best imho.
  13. It's a good thing for sure! You want to be smaller, not neccesarily lighter, no one can see that lol.
  14. Congrats! It is so exciting to fit into smaller clothes. I found myfelf bringing sizes that were way to big into the dressing room when I shopped after reaching goal.
  15. Especially since you already have 6 cc I would hold off until after your vacation. You don't want to be out of town and find your too tight. Also, it might be hard to stick to liquids then mushies while your on vacation. At the very least, let your doctor know about your plans if you decide to go in.
  16. Sounds like you are tight. I would call your doc. and talk about how your doing and what should happen next in terms of an unfill.
  17. 13 pounds in a month or so is great! Keep doing what your dong and you will see results. My one piece of advice is to keep uping your workouts, gradually increasing time/intensity. Ideally, you want to work up a sweat. Good luck!
  18. I have 2 pieces of advice, excersise as soon as your doc. clears you. It works wonders for weight loss. As far as diet, I eat high protien- lean sorces like chicken breast and fish. I eat lots of non-starchy veggies. When I was loosing I ate very low carb- no bread, pasta, potatoes et.. at all. Now I eat them in moderation. I lost 107 pounds in about 10 months. Hope this helps!
  19. I am a big believer in weighing in once a week- on the same scale first thing in the morning. I believe scales are different and your weight if afected by food and drink you may have had.
  20. I agree, I would find a counselor who specializes in eating disorders. You need to get in touch with your emotions, and find alternative ways of dealing with them. Good luck!
  21. Hang in there is right! You are doing all the right things, the scale will show it. Just give it a little time. Your body is adjusting to huge changes. Be sure to excersise once you get clearance from the doc. It works wonders for weight loss! Best wishes.
  22. Glad you are doing so much better. The fill is easy- I was never told not to eat before but follow what they say I guess. The nurse or doc. will numb the area and then acess the port- the needle is kinda long but you won't feel a thing. It's over and done with very quickly. Good luck.
  23. Bring lip balm to the hospital. You wont' be able to eat or drink anything until they do an xray and make sure everything is placed correctly. Your lips will get dry. Congrats on your impending surgery!
  24. Yes protien makes a difference. It will help you feel full longer and keep you from loosing muscle. I was told 60 gms but I think the more the better. I go for lean sources of protien like fish and chicken. Protien shakes can help up your protien level, especially if you don't have much of an appetite. Best wishes!
  25. Therapy with someone who specializes in eating disorders may be something to think about. You may uncover reasons you overeat. Is there a weight loss surgery support group in your area? I attend one and find it helps a lot. Good luck!
