Riley, to bad we couldn't all write letters of support for you as we know how hard you have worked at this and you would be an awesome candidate. Sorry for the difficulties of your home, I know it means a lot to people to own a home but during these times its to damm stressful. Good thoughts and blessings going your way. I felt like eating carbs this past weekend and it was a struggle. I did eat some pretzels and other stuff I usually don't eat so I need to refocus. I just can't have that kind of stuff in my house--period!!! Have a great week everyone!

Absolutely agree with John and Ash, the sleeve was worse than I expected but only for the first 48 hours! I think they sent me home to early as the pain was bad but after that-- all has been better than expected! I enjoy life so much more. The sleeve doesn't rule my life, I eat a very low carb diet and lots of protein and I feel great. I would stick with the diet and go back as soon as you loose! It will all work out! Has anyone heard from pat, chandra, tamra, chrissy? How's April doing? I worry when people drop off from posting.

Was he not comfortable because of other medical issues you have going on? Really, if you only have to lose 12 pds that is not pad and you will do that rather quickly on the 1200 calorie diet. Do your weighins at Kaiser so they get logged into your MR.

Sherri, I am so sorry you are going through these struggles. I think your calorie count seems about like I was at during that stage but the nauesa and thrush seem horrible and I don't recall hearing those experiences before. I wish I had more advice but I am sending you lots of good thoughts and prayers. Alison

Ash, way to go!! You're doing great! If anyone is intersted, Thrift Town is a big thrift store here in Sacto on Fair Oaks Blvd and they are having a big sale this Friday, 50% off all clothing! And thier prices are cheap to begin with!! Today I got a pair of cute brown Mudd brand shoes for $1.50! I have become a thrift store shopper trying to keep clothes in my closet that aren't to baggie!!

Sounds like I missed some good conversation yesterday! :bolt: My son's basketball tourney went longer than I expected and since I am his biggest fan I didn't feel right leaving. His last year of high school so I am going to enjoy every moment. My thought is that when the sleeve became available last year Kaiser was not pushing it due to there was not much history and stats on its sucess. Now that its getting close to a year of offering the procedure they are seeing good results, happy patients, and much less follow-up than the band. I think the RNY is still thier procedure of choice just because the long history of sucess. That is all just my theroy anyway! lol It's my 3 month mark tomorrow and I think this is the first weekend that I have felt I could eat anything I wanted and the quanity is way more than before...weird how overnight it changed. So my challenge will be to not give in and stay on track. I have lost over 70 pounds since starting this journey at the end of January! I feel terrific! Aren't they suppose to call us for a 3 month group appointment?

Foster parents and social workers are awesome! I admire what you all do--so glad to know good people do it. Sherri, they have a clothes exchange at the meeting. Lots of people bring clothes and they place them in a room for everyone to go through. Anything left at the end of the session gets picked up by a charity so you might as well bring them. I am having to hit the thrift stores now as I am in a size 16! Yoooo Hoooo! Been a long time since I've seen a 16. John, Mimi's is still on! Glad you're coming along.

No caffine was hard for me--I tried all the decaf teas and so forth but they weren't doing the trick; once I went to decaf coffee life was better! I started drinking decaf and the headaches stopped--just a mental thing I'm sure but whatever works is good for me! Stacy, I am not a veggie person either that why this diet works so well for me--not a big salad person either and this diet doesn't focus on that stuff so its great. I found myself just eating my protein lunch meat wrapped in raw spinich! We come up with some good concoctions! Keep it up! It will all become second nature after a few weeks.

Hi everyone Sheri, I am glad you are doing better. It's one day at a time but hopefully you have turned the corner and each day you will be stronger. Lee, man you are one person full of willpower! You keep working hard and the results are going to come. You are doing great. I also use myfitnesspal.com and it really has helped me--it's easy to track food, excercise and weight--thanks for making that suggestion. Today I hit the 70 pds lost mark! Halfway to my goal! I am very pleased with the loss and losing it any faster would be hard as I can't keep up my clothes...lol. Looking forward to Saturday, there are many of you I have never met!

Sheri, I might have asked you this before so sorry if its a repeat, did your doctor send you home with carafate? It's a liquid medicine that helps the stomach with irritations. If you don't have that you should email your doctor and explain the feelings that your having and see if they perscrbe any. Even though those episodes are somewhat normal the carafate will help it from getting to spaztic. I rarely had any spazams so I am not much help but seems like you are having more irritants following the sleeve than what I have seem posted in this forum anyway. I am feeling great and I am 2 1/2 mo post op so it won't last long and you will be so happy when your tummy doesn't let you eat to much and the weight loss is fantastic!

I'm in Nebraska visiting some family and I was looking at some pics that we took and there was a pic of me and I seriously did not know who I was.....lol. First time I saw a pic of myself that really showed a weight loss! It was a great feeling but also kinda weird! I have been doing pretty good while visiting, mostly just because I can't eat much but I have had a few treats here and there. I 'll be home tomorrow so it will be interesting to see my weight. Have a great week everyone!

Becca, The way doc Park did it with me was she wrote me out for 6 weeks and then when I was ready to go back I just emailed her. I stayed out four weeks and I am glad I did. It gave me time to adjust to eating and take care of myself. I know some people go back in a week or so but I got full pay while I was out so I didn't need to rush. Personally, at least two weeks is needed and more if you can. I just told my supervisor and my HR dept that I was having surgery. The doc will give you paperwork for verification purposes. They really can't say much since its a medical condition.

Tracking what you eat
How many calories, protein gms and carb grams is your diet containing? I am just curious....I am about 700 calories, 50 protein and 25 carbs. Just wondering if that is in the right range for continued weight loss...I am 2 months post op.
