  1. Hi Kyethra! I'm another in the "Other" category  I do have a stong spiritual belief. Its just not exactly Christian
  2. :clap2: Jennifer you will do awesome! I'm glad we both have this site and each other. It really makes all the difference in the world! We help keep each other motivated - and I get to be your guinea pig getting the band first
  3. Congrats Jen on your surgery date!!!!! And hey - your ticker is working :clap2: Now hurry up and tell the nice banders your date before I do it for you
  4. Just popping in here too As you know I'm being banded by Dr. Singh on 3/21 How long are you going to be in the area after surgery?
  5. Welcome to the group X-ray Chick! X-Ray chick and I are having our surguries at the same hospital with the same surgeon a week apart :clap2: I know this is going to work for me because I am determined to MAKE it work. I've worked so hard to get to this point and I finally am seeing it start to pay off. Yesterday evening I got a phone call from CDPHP (my insurance) and I am APPROVED :clap2: I can't wait to lose even more weight!
  6. Actually with Dr. Singh who will be doing X-Ray chic's surgery he doesn't require a liquid phase before surgery. So she won't be doing it for a week before surgery
  7. I am getting a little nervous too! The only instructions I've gotten so far for pre op is to not gain any weight I'm PMSing and gained 3lbs, but I know it will come off soon! I've been having a bit of the last supper syndrome the last few weeks, although I do try hard to not be TOO bad
  8. I'm so sorry Suzanne After surgery for 2 weeks I'm only allowed clear liquids - no shakes of any kind until the 3rd week. Hope you don't get sick again
  9. It feels SOOOO awesome to have a date! And to know others who will be having surgery around the same date It is such an awesome feeling :clap2: I keep jumping around and I've called everyone who I know to tell them of my date
  10. Thank you for the welcome! I wonder why some doctors want a pre-band diet, and others don't have any restrictions?
  11. Thank you so much, I can't believe how excited I am
  12. My surgeon actually says he doesn't believe in doing protein drinks before surgery, so as far as I know I don't have to do any liquids until post op. Although I may remember having heard to do liquids the day before the surgery
  13. Hello Everyone! I'm Melissa, and I'm 32 years old. I have gotten all my clearances, and lost the 10% my surgeon requires (actually I needed to lose 31.7 lbs - and I've now lost 54 :clap2: ) Today I got my surgery date :faint: March 21st I'll be getting Banded - so please add me to your list
  14. I GOT MY DATE TOO!!!!!!!!!!!! :faint: March 21st I will be getting my Lap Band!!!!!!!!!!!!! I also :Banane20:
  15. Hi Heather, have you been banded yet? I'm meeting with Dr. Singh at Albany Med in a week! Hope to hear from you soon
  16. Just read back some pages, and I so understand the issues with wiping. That was one of the first things that made me decide - ok its time to lose some weight. I'm happy to say I don't have that issue anymore, but I'm thinking of getting those hygeine tongs for after surgery
  17. Hi everyone! I forgot about this board for a while! I've been doing pretty good. I've lost 52lbs since I started this journey in September A week from today I meet the surgeon to get my surgery date :high5:
  18. Well its been a long time since I've been here. I have now completed all my steps towards qualifying for my surgery! I get to meet the surgeon a week from today I'm pretty excited and loving my results so far
  19. I'm excited and I can't wait to get all my clearances so i can get a date!
  20. I look forward to being able to get pregnant and looking CUTE when I have my baby belly - not just FAT. I look forward to wearing clothes which don't come from a plus sized store! I look forward to being able to walk and exercise without worrying about my asthma!
  21. Good morning everyone! I'm doing pretty well with my pre surgery weight loss. With the group I'm working with you have to lose your 10% before you even get to see the surgeon. I'm in the process of getting all my clearances, and I've lose 21 lbs so far! From 317 I'm down to 296! I'm absolutely thrilled with my results so far. I'm on a 1200 calorie diet, and at first the weight kind of melted away, but I'm having to start adding exercise to see results now. Well hope everyone enjoys the rest of their weekend!

  23. I'm from NY too - live about 40 miles west of Albany
  24. Yup, lots and lots of hoops. Since my BMI is over 60 due to my being so short the nutritionist is requiring extra clearances. I'm determined to do this though, so I'm following my 1200 calorie diet, and making all my appointments
