  1. I am thinking of you today! Wishing you a speedy recovery!!
  2. Thank you Amy! I am home from the hospital now, and very sore. I miss my morphine! LOL The doctor gave me a pain reliever, but it does not work as well. He told me that I would be in more pain today, and he was right. So far, I have not had any gas issues....knock on wood! Any recommendations? Thank you for your support!
  3. I did a lot of research on both bands. I was gung-ho about the Realize band, but in the end I went with the Lap Band. The Lap band has a lesser chance of erosion. Both are at risk for it, but the Lap Band design is less. I am in the hospital recovering at this moment! I am so excited about my new life!
  4. I am up in my hospital room recovering. Typing on my iTouch is difficult with all my attachments, so sorry for the typos in advance. I am having adominal pain. They gave me a morphin pump! Yeah! LOL the staff is awesome. They making sure I am comfortable! I am so excited about starting my new life! Back to sleep!
  5. Thank you Jenny!!! Good Luck to you too!!!! I will be home from the hospital the night before your surgery. Talk to you later!
  6. HI Tammy! My grandparents live in Cherry Hill, NJ. We go up to visit them all the time. Welcome!
  7. The best protein shakes and drinks in my opinion are Isopure and Oh Yeah!. You can get both at GNC. I signed up for an email account at GNC, and they sent me an email for 15% off my first purchase. I stocked up on my favorite shakes and drinks. Good Luck with your surgery!
  8. HI Bellyfatgone! I hear you about the clear liquid diet! I am grumpy, weak and just do not feel myself. I have not packed my bag yet. I am not sure if I am going to bring PJs, since they have gowns at the hospital. Good Luck tomorrow! I will be home on Tuesday. They are having me spend the night in the hospital. Lisa
  9. Thank you so much, Ocracoke! I am having surgery tomorrow! I cannot wait to start my journey! I will be thinking about you on December 30th!
  10. Is it normal to wait a month for a fill?
  11. Luvsgreys is for greyhounds!! I have been involved in greyhound rescue for over ten years. I currently have one grey. I lost my other grey to cancer.
  12. Thank you Humming Bird and Mimi! I am very excited about tomorrow. Mimi, my doctor told me no soda or caffeine. He said the caffeine would irritate my stomach. Are you allowed to have caffeine, if so, in what form? Maybe I can talk my doctor into letting me have it! LOL I need my coffee!!!
  13. Thank you Amy! I appreciate the support!
  14. Can you eat chicken strips 3 weeks after surgery? I thought it was all mush for a couple of months! I ordered 5 cases of Oh Yeah! Maybe I went a bit overboard! LOL
  15. Good Luck on Monday! I am so excited for you!!!
  16. I have been reading so much literature about the LapBand and Realize Band. The pros and cons of each are driving me crazy! I had settled on the Realize Band, but now I am debating on getting the LapBand. How does one decide?

  18. Thank you for the support, BigBaldEagle! It is helpful to read others experiences! Good Luck with your surgery on Monday, Stoney. I will check up with you when I get home on Tuesday. They are having me stay over night in the hospital.
  19. Teachermommy, I hope you are feeling better! Do you think this would not have happened if you got the LapBand? Is there a difference between the Realize Band and LapBand? I am so confused. I am scheduled to have the Realize Band, but now I am wondering if I should go with the LapBand. If anyone can answer this question, I would greatly appreciate it. I have until Monday to make my decision! ACK! PS I am originally from Houston, TX. I am a teacher and a mommy too!
  20. Thank you for the response! How do you feel? I notice you just had surgery a week ago.
  21. I had to do 6 month monitoring before the insurance would approve my surgery. I have lost 10 lbs in 7 months. I have been up and down the enter time. I was on steroids for part of the time so it was impossible to lose weight. I was suppose to lose 15-20 lbs before surgery. I did my best, but only lost 10. The 6 months will fly by before you know it. I started on this journey last April and cannot believe my surgery date is finally here. Use this time to educate yourself about the surgery and the lifestyle changes that go along with it. Good Luck! I am sure you will be fine!
  22. HI Amy! Congratulations! I get banded on Monday. My doctor did not require me to do a liquid diet either. Some patients he does, but somehow I escaped it! I have been on a low carb/high Protein diet. I do not feel like I have lost any weight though! GRRRR! I am so afraid I will get to the hospital, and they will say, "Sorry, you are too fat, no banding for you!" Tomorrow I do the Clear Liquids prior to surgery. What kind of clear liquids did you drink the day before! I am very excited for you! Keep up the good work!!!!
  23. I am very nervous about Monday (not the surgery, but the diet I have been on). I have been on a low carb/high Protein diet for 10 days. Tomorrow I will be drinking Clear liquids only before my surgery. I feel like I have not lost any weight on my presurgery diet! Will they not band me if I have not lost a lot of weight? What do most people drink the day before surgery? Is Isopure allowed. ACK!!!!!

Surgery is on Monday. I have so many questions even though I have read every book, and met with several professionals. I guess I need to take it one day at a time after my surgery. I ordered cases of Oh Yeah! to drink over the next couple of months! LOL Tomorrow is clear liquids only in prepartion for the surgery on Monday. I am wondering how that will go. I will probably be a grouchy mess! grrrrrr  I am excited at the possibility of having more energy, more flexibility, more confidence, and less pain. I am so tired during the day. I have no "get up and go." I am hoping that after a month, I will sit down and read this feeling much better physically!
