    July sleevers?

You should be on clear liquids 3 days after surgery. Then move to full liquids (liquids you cannot see though). Have you been up walking? Drinking your water? It's very important to stay hydrated. I was sleeved the same day as you. You are in my prayers! Feel better soon!

How did you choose your doctor?

You'll be on a Multivitamin and Calcium supplement. Your band will restrict your eating. You'll notice quickly that you can only eat smaller portions. When you first get the band, your stomach will need to heal. You will not get your first full until almost 6 weeks out. The band helps you to control your portions. Preplan your food the night before so you don't get too hungry and get off plan. The band is a tool to help you lose weight. Most of it is up to you. It's not a magic fix. It will help you from over eating, and eating healthy portions. Your Nut will help you make healthy choices. Preparation is everything! Emotional hunger is always going to be a problem for people that struggle with their weight. I walk when I feel like I want to eat out of boredom. Keep a food diary, and prepare your menu in advance and you will succeed! Best of luck!

    47 days after gastric sleeve

2lbs a week is great! Think how long it took to put this weight on your body.

How did you choose your doctor?

Not rude, realistic. I don't want people to suffer like I did. I only lost 70 % of my stomach. ???? There is no need to get upset, and be so defensive. I just wish I had the information before I banded. When my band slipped it was very painful. I lost my weight, and kept it off from the band, but the complications were painful. I only wish everyone well. No need to be defensive. You've picked the best procedure for yourself.

How did you choose your doctor?

@@AvalonNeeCee So because you say your surgeon doesn't do lapband anymore, you think that's a reason not to get one?????? Who is your surgeon? Why doesn't he/she do them? I find it almost comical you would post such a reply to someone who is asking for advice on HOW WE. ...THOSE OF US WHO HAVE IT, selected our surgeons. Some of us are very successful and HAPPY with our lapband results. Bands do not work that well, too many complications. If you only need to lose 40 to 50 lbs then go for it. They are not meant to stay in long term either. If the sleeve had been approved when I had my band in, I would have gone with the sleeve! Glad that your is working fine. Wait 4 years down the road, and see if you feel the same. More bands are being removed, than installed these days. I hope you're a rare case, and yours functions well forever! Mine slipped, and was causing major pain. Best of luck!

    June Sleevers!

I'm the same as you! I have no problem drinking anything. I take small sips, but don't need to wait long in between sips. I usually finish my protein shake in 10-15 minutes. I go to see my doctor tomorrow. I'm liquided out of my mind! ????

    July sleevers?

The most pain I have had is where they removed my port from the lap band. All my incisions for the sleeve have no pain at all! Good luck tomorrow!

    July sleevers?

hi I'm getting mine tomorrow. Very scared as well. Drinking my last water now before bed. Congratulations! I had mine on the first, and just stared full liquids yesterday. I'm taking it easy, and focusing on healing. I'm getting a bit tired of liquids, but know in the long run, it will be worth it! Go to see my Dr for follow up tomorrow. Hoping I lost some weight!

Looking for Lap Band to Sleeve Buddy

Hi Rebecca! I'm a band to sleeve patient. On July 1st I had my band removed, hiatal hernia repaired, gallbladder moved, and gastric sleeve procedure. I had my lap band since 2009. I'm so relieved to get it out! My port site is where pretty much all my pain is coming from. The sleeve is causing me no trouble. I'm starting my full liquids today. I still have yet to experience hunger, which I'm so happy about! I feel for you having to do a 3 month pre op diet! The hunger is the worst! Plus the emotional hunger that goes along with it. I think they have you do the pre op diet, so you know what you're getting yourself into with the sleeve. Wishing you the best of luck! Lisa
