  1. My first fill my Dr gave me 4cc's but that was too much. I ended up with 1 cc that day. After 4 fills I have 2.5 cc's in my band, but that is all I have needed and I have lost 82 lbs in 8 months. I have a total of 100 lbs to lose and the 2.5 ccs is working. I must say that will power and the decision to make the right choices is also yours and plays a huge role in your success. If you Dr is not listening to you, I would definately find a new one. Good luck!
  2. I am a lapband patient and love it! read my blog if you would like more details of my journey! I have lost 82 lbs in 8 months...It is a lot of work, but when you are tired of doing it all and are really serious about getting the weight off! You can do it! Good luck!
  3. This is the place to come to vent. The first couple weeks are the hardest and yes during that time I never really realized how many food commercials there was on TV everyday, ALL THE TIME! I know it's easier said than done, but it does get better, just make sure you tell yourself that you will be able to eventually eat all the good stuff out there but now in moderation of course, but you will be able to eat slithers of them in the future and that will be enough. This strick eating is only temporary and when you see results like you have, it makes it so much easier to stick to it. I have lost 78 lbs so far and no one can say it's been easy, but I don't regret one minute of it! Good luck!
  4. I went on vacation in July and had a fill in June and did great on my vacation at an all inclusive resort! I ate everything, but the good part is that it was all portion control and of course you already have your mentality to try to make better choices....not that I did all the time, but the restriction did help. I had about 2 stuck episodes out there and so just to avoid that out there, I watched the majority of my food. I would never encourage an unfill. In this case portion control is what helped. I only gained 2 lbs which I lost the 1st week I got back!
  5. My surgery date was 02/17/10 and have lost 70 lbs! I love my band! Lots of work, but it can be done!
  6. I went to Disneyland about 2 weeks after having my band surgery. I got on Space Mountain and had some discomfort with my port aread from the rough turns, but nothing that would cause me to feel dizzy or nausea. She may want to call her doctor as many others have said it could be something else not band related.
  7. Thank you Spartan! That does make sense. I am taking a Multivitamin daily and extra Calcium everyday. I am definately not eating what I was eating pre-op! those old habits are out of my life. I do however think I may be undereating at times and in combination with the rapid weightloss it might be what is causing the lack of energy. I do have an appointment for a fill this wednesday, so I will let my surgeon know of this and see what he suggests. Thank you again!
  8. I have been doing really well with my weight loss. I am down 35 lbs in 8 1/2 weeks post surgery. But although I work out and eat what I should eat, I feel like I have no energy. I'm always tired. Anyone else feel that or know why that could be?
  9. I own both and love them both, but I really love the Wii Active. It's a great Cardio and Strength training workout!
  10. My surgery is also tomorrow! I am actually not nervous! I am more anxious for that time to come already! I am so ready for this journey! Good luck and God Bless!
  11. Yes, the whole bottle! I think I will do that...if it doesn't work I will call in the morning!...Thanks!
  12. My surgery is Wednesday, but I was told to do the Magnesium today and liquids tomorrow...I was told at the dr's office it would take about 15 min to work...it's been 5 hours...I am prepared to be home and not go anywhere. I have told the kids to leave one restroom cleared too...lol
  13. I bought Isopure Chocolate, Cookies and Cream and the Alpine Punch. I love the chocolate!! but I am a chocolate lover! all 3 of them are really good and like Gingran said they have up to 50 grams of Protein and no carbs or about 3 carbs for the chocolate!
  14. I had to take the Magnesium Citrate today and I took it at 2pm PST and it's now 7:30pm and still nothing! am I broken? is that good? bad? any advice
  15. I have my Pre op appt this afternoon and my surgery is scheduled for the 17th, next Wednesday. I have had this cold for over a week and it's just lingering, can't seem to get rid of it. Do you think they will postpone my surgery?

  17. Follow me! Bandster 4 Life
  18. I will be having an upper GI because I have been diagnosed with gastritis in the past. So some surgeons may suggest u having the test to make sure u do not have any ulcers or issues if u have constant indigestion or heartburn. They don't want surprises where they need to place the band.
  19. I completely hear your frustrations. I think it's just once again the fact that we have failed so many times in our lives that our partners seriously think that it's another bluff. Just another failed diet. My husband was really not supporting me at first for all the reasons you mentioned, but I finally said "Do you want me to live longer yes or no" Otherwise your selfishness along with this weight is going to kill me sooner than later. I have co-morbidities to go along with my weight issue. He finally is starting to be a little more supportive and will actually be going with me to my 1st consultation today. You are not alone and this website really works and there are a lot of us going throught the same issues! Congratulations on making this decision and good luck! I'm new to this website, so If there is a way to add me as a friend let me know how!
  20. Hi! I was wondering did you have a hard time with Anthem? I have them too and will be visiting the surgeon next week on the 20th. Just wondering Maria
