Atheists, it seems, are like pigs; they enjoy mud wrestling. I know that I certainly do.

For the same reasons that I cannot believe in the Easter Bunny or Santa Claus.
  3. I believe that you are right in your assessment of the situation. Iraq is a lose-lose situation.

I will PM with the address.

I would post my blog address here but I suspect that it would offend too many people.

Oh, yah. I saw this and posted a link to it on my blog. I think I saw BattyG there.

Thanks for the answer. This makes sense. It would be interesting to know what proportion of these kids go on to university and how well they fare once they are there. Or does a belief in God preclude higher studies? I guess the answer is as with the computer: garbage in, garbage out.
  8. At legster, congratulations on your weight loss, by the way.

I have a couple of transfer addictions: shopping and monitoring communication skills. I was loitering on the Christian site and it seems that a belief in Jesus has ruined the believers' ability to communicate in credible English. Why is this? Do they also write in tongues????

Naw, she is so self-involved that I wager that she doesn't.

I remember when I was fat, I couldn't buy any clothes other those made out of synthetics and fat grrls sweat, eh. I prefer all natural fibres - cotton and linen. I started wearing men's shirts because I could buy them in natural fibres. And I hated the colours. It was impossible to find not Cute clothes. But I am an adult, I would wail. I wanna look chic and elegant.... Impossible, I think that manufacturers have a prejudice against fatties. They figure that when a woman is fat she loses all good taste and wants to dress in sweatshirts with appliques of baby kittens/puppies gambolling on them or glitter. Ugh! Well, I have lost a lot of weight and shopping is now fun; it is become a hobby of mine. I can wear belts now. Yippee!

    Yep, so do I. *snickers*
  14. This comment was directed at Plain's comments concerning the AIG bonuses and Congress's desire to tax this back, by the way. I misquoted - my blonde, eh.
  15. You make a compelling point: it is this grrl's opinion that this prez ought to watch carefully and exercise his power of veto in such a fashion that it will not popularize him with the majority of the folks in America.

Makes sense to me; it is a big decision.

I hang about on various atheist forums and there you can find interesting discussions as to why former believers would opt to disbelieve. As for myself, I was raised by atheists, belief was not an option. I cannot believe anymore than I can believe in Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny.

I am inclined to find one's belief in a God entirely subjective for there is no proof that one exists. Mankind merely has great emotional need for this belief in one. I believe in science.

I find it impossible to believe in the the Bible, particularly when there are so many other sacred texts in the world jockeying for this position. The old testament was written for and by the Jews - it is their sacred document.

I see Him in Barack Obama's eyes. He sure did fashion one attractive dude when He made Obama! Yay, God!

These guys have way more ambition than me though. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l7wOz5a6yns&feature=rec-r2 "Worship me or I'll torture you forever." -That god person

LOL, I see that Mac has posted the same video. Don't bother watching mine. It will just be an instant rerun.

I don't wish to believe in a punitive God, one who is so powerless, that He must punish folks for not choosing to believe in Him.

I got a kick out of this. Sorry if I am starting to harp on a theme here! "There is a foolish corner in the brain of the wisest man." - Aristotle This video, forwarded to me from a fellow atheist, just about says it all, as far as I am concerned.
