Band Removed
I agree with Elcee. Usually, band problems are progressive, they don't just slip without notice. Best wishes for your recovery.

Hirna And Gallbladder
It depends on your surgeon. I did not have those problems, so I can't say. My daughter had her gall balder removed several weeks before her lapband, tho'! I think whatever your surgeon's and your preference is. Best wishes, Karen

Anyone Not Lost The Amount Of Lbs Required During Pre-Op?
My surgeon did not have a strict,"you need to lose this much weight". He just wanted my liver to be less fat. I am sure that everything will be okay. Just stick to the diet your surgeon gave you. Best wishes.Karen

Birthday Meal
My son is doing fantastic. His bandiversay is next week. He is down almost 100 lbs in 1 year. The surgeon(mine) has him tight to try reach that 1 year goal. My daughter, not so good, she has 2 kids and stays busy with them, so her exercise habits are only what the time allows. she doesn't keep a tight band and is a slow lose. But, sh eis down 40 lbs in 2 1/2 years, so not too bad. Its 40 lbs she wouldn't have lost! Best wishes, and take care. Karen

NSV=non scale victory! I , also, have gotten a kick out of seeing myself in the overhead mirrors and realizing that it is me in the mirror and I don't look 1/2 bad! Karen

Am I Doing Something Wrong?
Yes, Jean is great! She has a lot of information and has been around a long time. Of course, I agree with the others that say call your surgeon, and also, talk with a nutritionist. See if there is a support group in your area, too. My experience is that even tho' you can eat what you did, you shouldn't. But, that said, you have lost 30 lbs, you are losing and that is important. My daughter is a slow loser, too! But, she has lost, and that is great! Keep up the good work, but see if you can find a local support. Karen

- After 4 Years I'm Almost To My Goal Weight!
Hurray, Sharmon, and welcome to lapband talk. Please stay awhile and enjoy our group as we are mostly friendly and pretty helpful and supportive! Best wishes on your journey to a healthier lifestyle! Karen- Birthday Meal
Thanks all for the birthday wishes! And yes, you are right, it would have been a meal for me with breadsticks, salad, soup, etc...and then a big birthday cake! I am glad that I am so past that! Best birthday and bandiversary wishes to all of us! Karen- Accidents
Thank you for your comments, I have believed for a while that a lot of IBS is gluten intolerance. My children and grandchildren all have a gluten intolerance. My son has been diagnosed with celiac disease. He does fine following a gluten lapband diet because we can't eat much bread anyway! Good luck, Karen- I Finally Have Restriction :)
Good luck, don't get overfilled. Restriction is tricky!- Birthday Meal
Hi, Tuesday was my birthday. I just finished my 3rd and last meal from the dinner. We went to Olive Garden. My hubby decided he didn't want to share my meal, so whatever I ordered was mine. I ordered stuffed chicken breast (stuffed with cheese),that came with mashed potatoes. I was able to eat about 2 bites of potatoes and 2 bites of chicken. I did not want to over eat. I, also, since it was my birthday, had a "skinny" margarita. I probably enjoyed that more than dinner!! But, anyway, made dinner on Wednesday, and tonight. I know that the meal wasn't really a good choice, but it was my birthday and I have lost 100 lbs in 2 1/2 years. So I am not too guilty! Take care, folks, this is the long haul and we can do it. Eat like a SKINNY person, too! Karen- Alcohol
If you have coke, make sure that it is out of the draft. It might have a lot of fizz at 1st, but it will go flat quicker. My hubby, son, d-i-l- and I share a pitcher of diet Pepsi when we bowl, it goes flat quickly, but it quenches well. You are pretty new to the lapband, so if I was you, I would stick to the above suggestions, tho'. Good luck, Karen- Lap Band Friendly Veggies?
I can eat broccoli crowns, very tender, and I can, also, eat asparagus tips. Just remember to chew well and only the crowns will do for me! Best wishes, Karen PS: I can't eat much salad, most lettuce gets caught!- Accidents
I had my worst time when I was on the pre-op liquid diet. As was said earlier, liquids in liquids out. But I promise you, it will improve as your diet improves. Take care! Karen- Down 10 Pounds Two Weeks- But Gaining When Eating Food
Weight gain after 2 weeks liquids is normal! Hey, my nephew laid in a hospital bed without food for 2 weeks, and no liquids and did not loose anything! But, that is neither here nor there. anyway, it is normal because you are now eating, so gaining little is normal. But you have done fine and will start to lose. If I lost the 1st 2 weeks, I don't remember. But I did gain a lb or 2 after I started to eat. I was on liquids for 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after! Bets wishes to all , Karen- Where Is Everyone?
Congratulations Shoshanna! You have done great, college weight! Woohoo!- In Galveston On Vacation....help!
You can do this, you are a strong person. You have come this far and don't want to go back. Good luck, and enjoy your vacation! Karen - After 4 Years I'm Almost To My Goal Weight!
