  1. Sounds like you are doing a good job of losing. Your surgeon must be very conservative to only give 1 cc at a time. I hope that you are not paying for fills right now. Well best wishes, and keep on going! you are doing great! Karen
  2. I am almost 3 years out. i still burp, a lot. It is just a thing we do. It could be worse. I heard an old poem when I was a kid. "Excuse me from the bottom of my heart, if it came otu the other way it would have been a f_____!" :-)Karen
  3. You are welcome! Tell them I sent you! They are great there. Karen I will send a friend request to you. See my profile!
  4. i think that if you have a history of gallbladder problems, it is a good idea. But,I would be cautious if I were you. but since you are self pay, It might not be a bad idea! Best wishes whatever you decide. Karen I pretty much agree with Elcee on this! Karen
  5. Well, God bless you! I had to have an hysterectomy at 32, but the surgeon was able to leave my ovaries. He did not wan to put me thru menopause at that early age. I understand you have mitigating circumstances. Can you get any outside help wit the baby and support for the other problems you have? Hang in there and come here to seek our support anytime. Hugs again. Karen
  6. I'm going to jump in here, suesixter, I go to Dr. Grossbard, in Zephyrhills, Florida. He is great. He does surgery at Dade City hospital. I can recommend him as he did not only mine, but also, my daughter and my son's surgery. Best wishes, whoever you decide on. karen
  7. Bets wishes to you! I don't havw any experience with the problem you have, but just wanted to send a hug!!Karen
  8. You look amazing! I would never have guessed that you are the same person. You look 20 years younger, too! Congratulations on the "new" you! Karen
  9. You seem to be doing fine. Calm down, I know that you would like the weight to fall off but that just doesn't happen. Are you exercising, and eating your protein, and keeping a food diary? maybe you have too many calories. You are very tiny person, and even though you feel you have a lot of weight to lose, the closer you get to goal, the harder it is to lose. best wishes! Karen
  10. I hear you Stevegoad. My husband will not have lapband surgery done. he has watched me over the last 3 years an dis not wanting to retch(he has always hated doing that). But, I am so happy with the results and he likes them too. I may eventually talk him into the sleeve. I will be the 1st to tell you, it ain't easy! You are doing great and congrats on your weightloss! Karen
  11. Like everyone said, also, love my Ninja! I use frozen fruit and Joe Montana suggested using Joint Juice in a smoothy. I use it in place of other liquid. I add powdered protein mix and that is my breakfast. Yummy! Karen
  12. My surgeon puts the needle in with fluid and then has me hold it in place while I stand and walk to the floroscope. He then has me drink the barium swallow, nasty white stuff, and watch it either go down or not. If it goes down smoothly then he adjust the amount, if not going down, he will remove some. I love the floro fill. Best wishes.Karen
  13. I can't say anything about an ER unfill. But I am surprised that that is the response you received from the office. My surgeon would have met me at his office or has been the oncall at the hospital. I have never had anyone else do my band except him or his assistant. Best wishes. Karen
  14. They are right. But, hey, you have lost 42 lbs in 2 months. what did you expect? You are doing marvelously!
  15. No, don't think you will do any harm sleeping on your side. If you do, then maybe your port is not attached well! Anyway, it is quite normal to have trouble getting comfortable, as others have said, try putting a pillow on your side and rolling toward it. Best wishes for some sleep. Karen
  16. Go with her to a party before your surgery. You can't eat Chinese 5 days after believe me. You might feel you can, but it is not a good idea, you will still be in recovery stage. Don't start your new life with that challenge. Best wishes in whatever you decide to do. Karen
  17. Molady, I think you could wait a day or two. My surgeon recommends 2 days clear liquids. Yvonne74, how are you doing now? Stay in touch both of you ladies, we need updates! Karen
  18. Congratulations on your bandiversary! I always have a cup of coffee 1st thing. The doctors claim that a cup of coffee is good for women. I have used coffee from the 3rd week of my surgery. I am almost 3 years. I can't function without 1 cup in am. Best wishes and keep in touch with your surgeon's office. Karen
  19. I could eat an egg and toast for breakfast; but instead, because I get a lot of protein from them, I have a fruit, with protein powder added, smoothy. For lunch I usually have chicken or tuna salad with some crackers. I usually have fish or chicken for dinner with a small starch, and a veggie. I eat very little red meat, and hardly any pasta. Bread is still a nono for me. If I have a snack, I use a ramikin and have no more than what I can put into it. I, usually, have 2 to 3 cups of coffee with skim milk during the day.
  20. Congratulations to all of you on the birth of your babies. Great that you are wanting to get back on track. I found pushing the baby on walks was good exercise after my kids were born back in the 1970's. I lived on a hill, it was great for the legs and was good to help in weight loss, too!! Best wishes. Karen
  21. Congrats on the birth of your baby. Welcome back to bandster land and best wishes!
  22. Wow! Those are both nice pics, but you have done great job of looking younger, and healthier and, beautiful at 50! Congratulations on a job well done!
  23. totally normal! Mine got more prevalent the more weight I have lost. It is funny when you can see it pop out like a turkey timer!
  24. I have to disagree with the google search! Most of the members of my family are gluten free out of choice due to problems with wheat allergies. The thing you must remember is that going gluten free does not mean that the gluten free foods are diet foods. If you have been tested for gallstones and egg allergies, have you had a test for wheat allergies? Anyway, try cutting out wheat,(wheat or wheat gluten are in almost everything), it is not an easy thing to do, but it is a lot easier today than it was back 7 years ago. Also, anything with MSG can cause a reaction, I can't use MSG, personally; it will cause a quick trip to the bathroom for me. Best of luck in you search for answers. Karen
  25. You can do it, 1970malejaxfl, set your goal and try achieving it on day at a time! Best wishes. Karen
