  1. Yes, this is so true. They all think that we had gastric bypass and should lose all the weight automatically. It, as you know, is not that way. It is almost a good reason to not tell everyone that you have had lapband surgery, right away. People who mattered knew in my case, others did not need to know! Best wishes. Karen
  2. Green zone is different for many people. If, you can be satisfied with your 3-4 oz of protein, do not get PBs, and are not hungry between meals for 3-4 hours, then you probably have gotten to green. Best wishes,Karen
  3. Sending you hugs, ((())) best wishes and keep up the good work and hard work, Karen
  4. If your surgeon's office gave you the okay for solid foods, it is okay! My surgeon's office kept me and his patients on liquids for weeks afterward. I was not allowed to go to the menu you have taken upon yourself to eat until about 4 weeks after my surgery. Sorry, I personally, can not condone this menu. Best wishes, try following your surgeon's orders! Karen
  5. congrats, Carrie, and welcome to your new life! I remember the "full liquids" diet.
  6. Welcome Nette Fosters, you should be proud of yourself! You have done well over 10 years. You are able to control yourself and have started back down the hill. so best wishes, and good luck. Great story, too! Karen
  7. Listen to Jean, she is the guru!!Restriction is not going to stop you from eating. It is an elusive thing. It might just be, I am not hungry after eating my 4 oz of meat, and 1/2 cup veggies. It might be a little hiccup, or burp. Or it might just be that you are not hungry for 3-4 hours after eating your meal. It is not going to be a big stop sign, if it is, you are TOO tight!!!!Best wishes and good luck for your own restriction. Karen
  8. Angelizz10, good grief 18 lbs since July is fantastic! If you had gained 18 lbs since July you would realize just how much weight you have lost!!! I did not lose but 1-2 lbs the 1st 2 months after surgery. Best wishes to all us "oldsters", just wanted to say "hi" and keep up the great losses. Karen
  9. Welcome lousianalady. Best wishes for your new future. Karen
  10. I have never heard of this, so I am agreeing with hippychick74. What did they say in the office? Best wishes to you. (((()))) Karen
  11. I am so sorry to hear about your problems. I was nearly that bad back a year ago. I was not too tight, I had a slip. After removal of all my fill, the lapband did not go back into place,(which sometimes they do). I had to have a revision in October, a year ago. I am better now, but do not want to go thru that again. My biggest problem is, that I had gained a little weight, and can't get further fill, I am at 5 cc, and any thing more, is too tight for me! Good luck and bless you both. Karen
  12. Welcome destnynee1, best wishes on your journey. You are close to starting a new ay of life! This is a great place to be for help! Karen
  13. Yours is the prime reason my surgeon wants clear liquids for 2 days and then full liquids for 2 days. Your body will be swollen from the foods so soon after a fill. How are you now? After reading further, it sounds like your are doing better. Did you get any taken out on Friday? I stay away from ERs unless my surgeon has told me to go to one. Some, like one nearest his office, are not equipped to do anything. The one he hospital he goes to, which is 6 miles form his office, has every needed problems. Best wishes to all people having these problems. Karen
  14. Normal!!!You have been pumped full of gas and IV's. Karen
  15. You are still very swollen from surgery. Take care, don't over drink or try to eat. You will experience many great and not so great things for awhile. Just be good to your band and yourself. Don't try to overdo anything, right now! You just had major surgery 2 days ago! Best wishes, Karen
  16. Once again, I am agreeing with Sojourner! Try staying with liquids today. I have had that happen. Be good to yourself, and band! Best wishes. Karen
  17. I agree with Sojourner. My son has celiac disease and will get like that if he has foods that have wheat or gluten in them But, since it happened with milk product, you might have developed an allergy to them, or perhaps as was said you have developed irritable bowel syndrome. Goodluck, if you experience that problem again, see your surgeon's office. Karen
  18. Couldn't have said it better than tmf!
  19. 5 lbs is pretty normal after awhile. You are getting toward a normal weight now, so lbs drops off slower. When your body is not used to losing weight, it seems to lose quicker. Being patient for the weight loss is difficult, I know, but it will happen, just not as much and as quickly as before! Best wishes, and try what Mis73 suggested! Karen
  20. Good job. You look real good, keep on going, you can do it! Karen
  21. Sometimes are bands will act strangely. I agree, see your surgeon, you may have had a slip. Sounds like slider foods are okay with you, for awhile. Maybe you have a gall bladder problem, if you still have yours. I have read(not from my personal experience), that after a great weight loss, gall bladders act up. if yours is, hat would be the reason for the discomfort after eating greasy food. Ay any rate, call your surgeon's ofc, ASAP. Best wishes, Karen
  22. Dear timeformyself, you can do it too! It isn't as easy as falling off a log, or having gastric bypass. You have to work at lit. But, when you do, you make a commitment to yourself that you are doing it. I, always, would start diets with good intentions, and then fail because I got bored. If that happens with lapband, your band should stop a total failure. I originally wrote will, but then realized that folks have eaten around their bands to cause themselves to fail. Best wishes to you. and keep in touch! Karen
  23. Well, you are in pre-op, so you should be okay. Have you had your pre-surgery dieting yet? Most of us have to go through a 2 week liquid diet to shrink the liver. Best wishes to you. I come on here to check it out every now and then. But, usually the last message is from me! Karen
  24. Best wishes to you Carrie. We all have been there. I did not have all your problems, but I had many. I am currently drug free, except for a few vitamins. I was taking about 5 a day, and my blood pressure I was taking a 20 mil pill. It isn't a miracle cure. It took about 2 years for me to come completely off my blood pressure meds. IT IS WORTH IT!!!Good luck, and join us on other groups, too! Karen
  25. Nsv are great! Yours is excellent!
