  1. Happy birthday! And congratulations on the birthday present to you! Karen
  2. I agree with Corrigan. In fact, my surgeon even recommends an unfill because of vommitting. I hope that you will fell better soon. Karen
  3. Congrats on the great NSV!!!!Karen
  4. I had both done. They were about 8 years apart. I remember a lot of pain after gall bladder surgery and staying in bed. But, I had been very sick from my gall bladder before removal. After lapband surgery, I was up almost immediately, walking around, as they told me if I could, I should walk. In both cases, I was on a liquids diet, the one after gall bladder was not as restrictive as the one after lapband. I, personally, think the lapband is easier, and your life is about to change for the better after surgery!!!!Good luck, Karen
  5. I, also, use gummies. I tried the liquid but I found it nasty. I use the sublingual B12 , also!
  6. I took a sports bra to the hospital and chose to wear one for a couple weeks afterward. Now, I wear an underwire bra, but don't have any discomfort from it. But, if I sit for a while in the car, I get uncomfortable, just from sitting. I think it is just a part of my banding process. If I get up, or move around, I am fine(and it is not all the time)! Karen
  7. My surgeon says 2 days clear and 2 days full liquids after fills. So he fills on Wed. I can eat real food on Sunday. I only use chewable multi-vitamins and melt in the mouth or very small other vitamins. I don't get heartburn from either of them.
  8. Already posted on this, but had to add, this is funny!
  9. Yah, That! I have nothing else to add, except be careful, just because you can eat anything, doesn't mean you should! You should be trying to restrict yourself, until you get your 1st fill!
  10. Hi Michelle. Happy to have you onboard. I have lost 100 lbs an dam healthier and happier than before. You can do it, if you make the commitment to yourself. It is not a diet, but a new way of life and eating. It is a tool to guiding you; and in my case, stavs of the diet boredom. I usually stopped dieting after 20-40 lbs, and never made goal. Finally, I found something to help me do that! Good luck! Karen
  11. I like it, fine. I mix mine with just bottled water, and it is good. I have only been able to find strawberry/banana, but may come in other flavors. Good luck, looks like it has been 9 days since your surgery, now. Hope that you are doing well! Karen
  12. It all depends, I only have 4 cc in a 10 cc band. Anymore, and I am also in the Red Zone. Others say, they are filled to the max and don't feel restriction. Best of luck, follow your surgeon's guide lines, I am, also, like Jachut, in maintenance but even loosing, I could not go past 5 cc. Karen
  13. I follow what they say at my surgeon's office. I know others who have followed the 5 day pouch test. But, if you go on here, and search eating plans, you may find something. My nutritionist, also, was helpful. Karen
  14. Yes, only after seeing it on here, did I realize that it was normal. So, now, I know and have told my son, that that is a sign that you are done eating! Karen
  15. I really like that idea! I, personally, could use that T-t. But, won't get it, not so much because of the cost, but don't want to go through a surgery again! Others, I have seen look great, and I am kind of jealous of the results. Good luck on what you decide. But I agree with your goal, anyway. Karen
  16. Some people do loose slower than others. I lost 100 lbs in the same time my daughter lost 40 lbs. She was so discouraged that she had a metabolism test done. But, all of a sudden she started losing better, too. A not, she was not exercising and I was doing about 30-40 mins walk a day. Walking helps a lot, by the way. Good luck, don't give up on yourself! Karen
  17. Merry Christmas, one and all! Also, Happy Hanukkah! PS: Loved the tag to get us here!
  18. Haha! But truer words out of the "mouth of babes'! Don't push it! Pork on your 14th day???Goodluck, but note from an oldbe, I can hardly tolerate pork, now after more than 2 years and surgeon says to stay away from it, also, steak. Karen
  19. My last surgery, Oct. 14 I had a black/blue bruise come up about 2-3 weeks afterward. The surgeon saw it and said "You just bruise easily!" Mine, also, did not hurt; it is probably nothing, but keep an eye on it! Karen
  20. You could use those shots they sell in the convenience store for $1.00. After 2 days, I am surprised that you are drinking protein shakes and not clear liquids, but every surgeon is different. Jello is good, and so is Special K Protein Powder to add to bottles of water. Anyway, try tr follow dr's orders. It makes life and lapband surgery healing alot better. Good luck, Karen
  21. I really don't think there is a problem after your incision has healed to put something on it. BUt, maybve ohters know better. I would call the office if you have a question though. Good luck, Karen
  22. Interesting, glad you made at least 1. Good luck on the others, especially the Associates Degree! Karen
  23. Well, since writing on this site, I have had to have corrective surgery. I ended up with a virus, and real vomiting. I had a slippage and had revision. But, the good news is, I have not had to vomit, or forced myself to vomit in over 2 months!!!! You can do it, you may have to loosen your fill, and start over like I did, but you can do it, too! Karen
  24. He always removes it 1st, verifies how much is in it, then fills and has me try water, sitting up. At that point he determines if I can swallow it, or if it is not really going down, well. If it seems to be not going down, he will have me go to the flouroscope and see with barium. Then he determines if I am too tight. I am very sensitive, and 5 cc is too tight, but 4 1/2 is okay.
  25. People can't except that you might be the ONE person to meet goal and Not gain the weight back. Goodluck, Karen
