  1. Pretty normal to me too! But as the other folks were saying, if you have a problem, call your sugeon's office ASAP!! You should be ok about not seeing the Nut for awhile as my surgoen's office had me on liquids and gave me the guidelines in my paperwork and follow up information packet from the hospital. Karen
  2. I have been there, too! Glad that you were smart enoughtto know that you were overfilled. Good for you, now take cae, my doc recommends that I stay on clear liquids for 2 days and then full liquids for 2 days because you are swollen. That might be a good idea for you, too! Good luck, Karen
  3. Hurray! And HAppy 1st bandiversary to you!!!You are an inspiration to us oldies and the newbies, too! Karen
  4. Sounds just right to me!! You are doing fantastic! Just smile and remember where you were before your surgery! Karen
  5. Good luck in your search, but I don't think that it is breach of contract, as the op said, he will probably fill you for free if you go to Ill. Sorry, Karen
  6. There is no time like the present. It would be a good idea to start now, eather than wait for it to be urgent to your survival to live. Good luck on your decision; you have already taken the 1st step! Karen
  7. Thanfully, I have not had anyone say something like this to me! Everyone seems very supportive. If they have an opinion, they have kept any hurtful stuff to themselves. I agree, an unfriend would be good! Best wishes to you and all of us struggling with weight issuses! Karen
  8. It sounds like you finally have reached restriction! If you can drink, and are not vomitting, you are doing fine. Good luck to you, Karen
  9. I agree with Honk, you are on the liquid diet and should stay there. You don't want to ruin a good thing by starting to eat again. It is hard, but many of us have gone through the "tunnel" and made it out the other end! I would not take chances if I were you. But, this is a decision you have to make for yourself. Good luck, Karen
  10. What a great boost for your self esteeem, that is truly a NSV, and you so deserve it! Karen
  11. Yes, stress can couse your band to feel tighter and then you might not be able to eat much. If you are also slimming or vomitting, then that will cause you to swell and might cause you, also, to not be able to eat much. Take care, Karen
  12. If your provder said it is okay, I would not worry about it. Mine was very strict on what I could have. You are not using a straw are you? I was told no straws. I do use one at times, now, but I am 2 1/2 years out. I think that straws cause you to take in air, and also, drink too fast. I was told I could use skim milk at the clear liquid stage; I was told anything that I could see thru was okay. To curb your muchies, I was told I could use hard candy to suck on, I used "dumdum" lollipops. Everything is supposed to be sugar free, but, a little sugar shouldn't be harmful. Good luck, Karen
  13. My 1st ever slimming and stuck was on pizza. Be careful! I was not filled yet, and it tasted real good, ate it either too fast, or too much, and it was a disaster!!!But, as otehr say, stick to thin crust, and the crunchier the better; don't have much on it, maybe just cheese and sauce. Good luck. Karen
  14. Wow, PixiePower, when were you banded? Most folks on their 2 weeks ,its clear liquids, and then after that full liquids which would include Slimfast. You can't really overdo the clear liquid stage! You can drink at will, as imost of it is very low calorie and you need to stay hydrated! Good luck to you all. Karen
  15. How sad for your friend. I wish her Godspeed and good luck. I agree, it has been great for me, too! I never wanted the gastric bypass as I heard bad things about it. I heard the balloon is good, but only lasts for about 6 months and then has to be removed. My PCP said her friend gained all her weight back after she had the balloon removed. It is a tool and has to be worked with as in all weightloss!
  16. Wow, 22 lbs since December. That is fantastic!! Remember that this is for the long run. Don't expect that the weight is going to fly off, you have to work the "tool". Just because you can eat anything, doesn't mean you should eat anything. We chose to have this lapband and not the gastric bypass so that we can control our weight loss and it not control us! Good luck Karen
  17. Keep the faith! You all can do it! Great luck to the 3 of you and everyone else, too!
  18. Yes I am sure that agents are well aware of weight loss (and gain) pictures! I haven't changed my drivers license photo either, so it shows a fat old lady, haha! Some folks deny that it is me. Ohers, just except it, and tell me I look amazing! Roll with it, you are fine! Karen
  19. Hurray! for you! What is your goal? My son ahd his surgery in AUgust, I concidered him a fast looser until I saw your piost :-) !! He has lost almost 70 lbs, and has about 30- to go, but is looking amazing already. I am sure that you look and feel great, too! KAren
  20. Well, shaem on you(just kidding)! We all slip up, and you have done marvelously in such a short time. Congrats on you successful weight loss. Karen
  21. I think that she was thanking Alex, because he welcomes all new comers to the forum! My daughter has had the band for over 2 years, she is also, a slow looser. But, she says, she would not have lost any without the help of the band. SHe is smallestshe has been since her early 20's. She is 41 now, and has lost about 50 lbs, but has about 20-40 more to loose. She is happy that she has the band. We all tried WW, she tried La Weightloss, and none worked as well for her! Good luck, hope that you stay strong and keep working the band. Karen
  22. Love this one! All are great, but this made me smile!!
  23. Not sure what youtr surgeon's ofc will want. I know that mine would have us cancel the fill apt. He has never offered anti-biotics, but I have never asked, either! Call in advance if you want to save teh trip. Good luck, Karen. By the way, sometimes cancelling your apt causes you to loose your place in the apt book, which happened to my frined who was sick in Jan.
  24. Hi, I was banded on Oct 30, 2009. I have been in maintenance for awhile, now, too! I find maintenance tough. Loosing was hard, but boy, I can tell you, for me, I find this even tougher. I have had "the good, the bad and the ugly,"too. Welcome back and glad to have you visit again. Karen
  25. Best wishes! All I can advise you is walk as much as you are able to releave gas! Karen
