Yes Swan Girl she has Medicare but you think it would be better to pay thousands and thousands more for the care she will need if she continues to become obese and develop serious health problems? GET A CLUE! YOUR TAX DOLLARS will be paying for her health care if she get diabetes, heart problems, high blood pressure, high cholestorol, and the mirade of obesity related health risks. You think that will cost less than preventive medicine now? I don't understand this ignorance at all. She needs preventive care. No she is not starting off at 300 lbs and BMI of 52. But why does she need to risk her life, when she can get care NOW? She wants to be healthy. 184 lbs is not a Healthy BMI at her height. This isn't about what she LOOKS like. Lapband is about Saving your life, eliminating Health risks.

The last time I really felt good in my body, I was playing Varsity Field Hockey in High School. I was still a Big Girl, I am sure my BMI was in the the Overweight range but I could run all over that field. I was strong and solid. I felt pretty good right after my daughter was born, too. I was breastfeeding her, and I walked everywhere I went. I didn't actually do any exercise, though. But we had no vehicle so to get anywhere I wanted to go I had to walk. Walk I did, carrying my Baby in my Sling. I can't wait to be that healthy, again!

Electra, I don't know how you do it. I would wanna swoop those kids up and bring them home with me. I am with you, if it was my kids, I would crawl over hot stones to see my children. I don't understand them not showing up. I just don't get it. I couldn't do that to my babies. You are so strong, and each day you get stronger. So dang what if you had three chocolate grahams? You didn't eat the whole box in one sitting this time did you? HOOOOO RAAAAHHHHHHH! I bet you enjoyed the three grahams more than you did several in the past. You have came that far! Hi, I'm from Georgia, too! I'm going to Emory University's Bariatic Center. I am feeling a little discouraged myself but just my time not the Center. The center is requiring I attend their Info Seminar, and the next one is not until January 14th. That is feeling like a Life time away. I really just want to get on with it. Sounds like you have really gotten so much of the requirements completmented. You will have the Psych Eval done in a just a short time. Before you know it this is all gonna be behind you, because you will be a Banded Woman!! :ohmy:

Hi, Kirsten! I wanted to be the first to welcome you to Lapbandtalk! I am Preband myself and I am here everyday finding new information and encouraging words. Come back everyday as I am sure you will find something new all the time. The People here are Awesome. The Stories are very Inspirational. Have you discovered the Chat feature? Its a great place to meet other Banders like yourself. We talk about Lapband and Life. Sometimes the topic gets a "little" off topic, LOL! I am from Georgia and a Transplant, too! Moving here I initially became very isolated and gained 80lbs. But I am beginning to embrace it. Its a peaceful way of life here. Good luck on your Journey! :thumbup:

Some people just can't stand to see anyone do well. It sounds like your BF's Mother and Sisters are like that. I agree that its jealous that is the root of this. Don't let them get you down. Ask your Boyfriend if you can trade off spend one Holiday with his Family and one Holiday making your own new Traditions maybe travel somewhere just the two of you?

Ever Since I have found how amazing and wonderful Lapband can be in your life I have been trying to bring Everyone along with me. Anyone I know with same types of weight problems I have dealt with all my life, or even half their lives. I have been sharing about Lapband with them. I want Everyone to get healthy and eliminate the health risks out of their lives. My Mom would be getting a Band with me but her BMI is only a 30.1. Too low in anyone's books. She is still going to be eating healthy with me, and we have already started walking. My Daughter's BMI is much too low To get a Lapband yet for a teen she tips right at the edge of Obese. I don't want this life for her. We went walking today, and at one point she took off running. I know that felt good. I want her to be able to run the whole way if she is so inclined. We are getting a Wii Game System, and New TV for the Living Room for Christmas for the Whole Family! I want Wii Fit and the Balance Board. My 6 year old wants the Pixar Cars Driving Game with the Steering Wheel. lol. We want "Santa' to bring us a lot this year. I am hoping that My Daughter will us the Wii Fit as much as I do. Hopefully we can do it together. Even if we have to buy two balance boards. There are no Gyms in the small town I live in so this is going to have to work for us. I am really excited to get healthy, and I hope it rubs off on the people around me. :cool2:

Thank you, Jack! I wish I had taken a picture of the Suite Number written in Sharpie on the Wall. That part was so pitiful, Yet Hilarious to me now! I was so tired yesterday I couldn't bare to write about it twice. I've blogged about it here, too. I think Everyone Should Check out their Surgeon's Medical License. It was quite Simple in Georgia, just a website you plugged in their name, and all the information came right up. Even though Everything has been put off for months now with the Seminar not until January 14th. I Feel good about my Choices.
