  1. I slept on my stomach for the first time last night!! Finally got a full night's sleep.
  2. @ soexcited. You will feel much better once you begin mushy food. I felt icky on liquids too. Just make sure you take your vitamins and if you have a problem with anemia, take extra iron.
  3. My energy level has been better than ever. I've been eating very healthy and making sure to get sufficient calories, protein, vitamins, and water. Haven't had my first fill yet, but trying to start good habits now.
  4. I'm in the same boat!! Not sure what my body's doing but I am gonna stick with it. I hope things turn around for the both of us.
  5. I haven't been blending anything. I eat non fat greek yogurt, tuna, non fat cottage cheese, unsweetened applesuace, high fiber oatmeal, low sodium soup, egg beaters, and low fat cheese. No secret hidden calories, I measure everything and copy the nutrition facts straight from the package. I am gonna stick with it until the 14th and see if my body cooperates. This is usually the stage where I would get fed up and quit a diet and go get a fattening meal from a restaurant and have a few drinks. But at least now, I physically can't do that. I walked for 1 1/2 hours today to work off my frustration.
  6. I'm not drinking any broth right now. I'm in the mushy stage. However, I'm gonna look at my sodium intake. I think its pretty good, but I am gonna track my sodium the next few days.
  7. Okay, I'm totally confused. I was banded on 11/17/09 and I've been following everything to the letter. I walk for an hour everyday and I don't eat over 1100 calories a day (still in mushy stage) I was told not to go too low in calories cause it could stall weight loss. I haven't lost any weight since my surgery. I started at 316, then got down to 293 on the pre op liquid diet. For my first check up on 11/25 I weighed 300lbs!!! What the hell??? So I blamed it on my period (I usually gain about 4 lbs on my period). Cause I KNOW I wasn't eating too much while on the liquid post op diet. So I weighed myself today (even though I said I wasn't going to) and I now weigh 296lbs. I don't understand this at all. I keep a food journal and keep track of EVERYTHING I eat and record calories, protein, carbs, and fiber. I'm gonna stick to what I'm doing and if I haven't lost anything by my appointment on 12/14, I know something's amiss. I'm a bit discouraged right now. If you are losing weight please let me know what you've been doing. HELP!!! Going for my walk after work. Sigh
  8. I didn't know that their chili was low in calories. That's good to know while I'm out and about.
  9. If you have a craving for indian food. Try Trader Joe's Indian Fare. My favorite is Dal Makhani, One serving has 170 cal, 7g fat, 20g carb, 3g fiber, 7g protein. Madris Lentil is another good flavor and has fewer calories.

  23. I did pretty well on Thanksgiving. I had just been to the doctor the day before and she gave me the okay to move on to mushies. So I had a tbsp of stuffing, a tbsp of yams mushed to death, and a tbsp of cranberry sauce. I also had 1/2 cup egg nog. I think I did pretty well. My plate looked so weird compared to everyone else. So I am sure some people figured out that "something" was up. Only my cousin and her mother-in-law knew about my surgery. But frankly, I didn't care. I actually think I made a few people feel self conscious about what they had on their plate. LOL! They kept looking at my plate and back to theirs and didn't finish their food. I didn't even say a word. Didn't mean to make anyone uncomfortable LOL!
  24. Alright so I kept my promise to myself. I walked for 45 min to my Aunts house and I walked back home. So that's 1 1/2 hours of walking at a good pace. I need to get a pedometer. I could have sworn I had one somewhere. I am trying to figure out where I wanna walk to tomorrow. Loving this new found energy. I figured that I'd better start exercising since my caloric intake has gone up since starting mushies. I had about 1100 calories today. I am trying not to stall my weight loss my eating too few calories. Starvation mode is definitely not a myth. I started a food journal today so when I meet with the nutritionist on Dec. 14th (also date of my first fill) she can tell me if I am on the right track. I am following the guidelines she gave me but the booklet doesn't mention anything about calories during the mushie stage. She only mentions getting enough protein. I know I am just supposed to concentrate on healing right now and not weight loss. But whatever, why not start doing the right thing now?
