  1. My unbanded friend who had issues eatting was told to try to get her calories in by drinking. I passed on some protein drinks and carnation instant breakfast to her. You should try that in the mean time.
  2. I'm eating the same as you. Try varying your workout routine and add extra intensity.
  3. Hey everyone! I can defiantly relate.. at 3 days post-op I was starving! I did alot of walking and made sure to drink Water as much as possible. Water & Gatorade seemed to help alot along with the walking. I was very sore from the incisions especially the one under my breast so I walked without a bra on because it was more comfortable that way. Just do whatever you can to get your mind off of food, it will get better.
  4. Don't sell yourself short... according to your ticker you've lost 32Lbs. Forget about the bad things you already ate and focus on making a good plan for the rest of the day and the rest of the week. You can also burn those foods off by taking a walk.
  5. I was on clear liquids for 3 days then was moved to mushies at my first post-op appointment which was 3 days after sugery. I'm now 18 days post-up and have lost 5 lbs since surgery.
  6. I had a hard time drinking all of the water we're supposed to be drinking. When I finally did get my water in consistantly the weight starting coming off. Just take it day-by-day and be sure to walk as much as you can and drink water! :tongue_smilie:
  7. awesome! you can do it!
  8. I'm a self-pay patient as well. I didn't go through insurance because WLS is not a covered benefit but if I did they would've paid for everything EXCEPT the doctor's fees if I had to have a hernia repaired.
  9. I actually did a three-day "mock" liquid diet a few weeks before I had to do the "real" thing. I sampled many different protein shakes before-hand to see which ones were good. I happen to like the vanilla protein shakes because sugar-free syrups can be added to them to give them a different flavor. I also added plain coffee to my morning shake to jazz it up a bit.
  10. I love refried beans and will use the recipe Btri showed us to make up a fresh batch. I'm in the pureed/mushie stage so they are awesome in terms of protein/fat.
  11. Whitney.. You go girl
  12. Jenn, I'm 9 day out with a Realize Band and am still in pain at the port site.. you are NOT alone!
  13. Bell, I promise with time it will get better! I'm about 1 week ahead of you. Just try to get as much water in as you can, we don't want you getting dehydrated!
  14. Are you eating enough calories?
  15. I am 9 days post-op and will be going back to work at 18 days post-op. My boss had lap-band surgery and had wished she took off longer to relax and ease the soreness so she put me on disability for 2 weeks post-op. (I love my boss!) I too have a desk job and would be sitting in front of a computer all day and think I'm ready to go back NOW but she said two weeks so, two weeks it is!
  16. I'm 9 days post-op and can't wait to sleep on my left-side and stomach again. I just realized today that I can actually feel my port under my skin... I was so excited that I could actually feel it!
  17. That sucks big time! So sorry!
  18. My doctor told me to call if I had the "big d". It might not be a normal thing. Also, I just got my period, 2 weeks early.. is that normal 6 days post-op?
  19. Hey everyone! I'm 6 days post-op and can tell you IT WILL GET BETTER! Just continue to walk to get the gas out and make sure you get in all your fluids. I find that it helps to sleep with a pillow on or next to my port incision to help ease the pain. Its been snowing here so, I've been doing mall walking... Try it :scared2:
  20. I'm a few days post op and was so hungry with the liquid post-op diet that my doctor moved me onto mushies. She also told me NOT to progress onto solid whole food until 6 weeks because the band hasn't settled until then and the chance for slippage is very high until then.
  21. Elfie, I feel your pain! We'd shovel, play in the snow and then order Chinese food... I'm craving egg foo young but know it's just toooooo bad.
  22. Hey Everyone! How is everyone doing? Did everyone's surgery (so far) go without a hitch? How is the pre-surgical diet going? I'm doing fine, just some pain in the port site otherwise great. The gas was terrible but it's gone now. Still a bit filled with fluid but it's not stopping me from walking like a bandit. Has anyone had a burst of energy like me or am I a weirdo?
