  1. Hi Pennie, Your weight loss is fabulous! How much of that is since surgery? I know experienced people will step in. I'm only 12 days out but thought you might like to see the Cornell recommendations. It doesn't sound like you've done anything wrong. Your body may be rebelling from adding calories so quickly. How's your carb count? Weeks 0-2: Total Cal: 400-600 Total Carbs: <40 Total Protein: 70 Weeks 3 - 3 months (Soft Foods): Total Cal: 600-800 Total Carbs: <40 Total Protein: 70 - 90 3 - 12 months (Regular Food): Tota Cal: <800 Total Carbs: <40 Total Protein: 70 - 90 After Reaching Goal (Regular Food): Tota Cal: 1000 - 1200 Total Carbs: 40 - 60 Total Protein: 70 - 90 Good luck!
  2. Congratulations on your upcoming date. I'm 12 days post-op and know it was the best decision I ever made. I almost cry each time I think about how lucky I am that my doctor recommended WLS. I was very excited about my surgery once I got to that calm place of knowing that I'd be fine and to just relax. I would suggest spending as much time as possible visualizing your life post-op. How you'll look, how much easier you'll move in the world, how great it will be to shop off the rack. Find your happiest place. For me I was walking barefoot down a beach, wearing white linen flood pants, a white linen tank top with a white linen big shirt over it, unbuttoned with the wind blowing back my shirt and ruffling my hair. I had a big smile on my face. I just visualized a very happy me that felt fit and fabulous. My mantra was "everything always works out for me". I said it over and over and it calmed me when I went to sleep. Find what works for you. You're going to be just fine!
  3. Great job working your Sleeve. You look terrific! Congrats on a job well done.
  4. Happy Monday Weighin Team! HW - 249 SW - 228.8 LW - 225.4 Today - 216 Wow, I didn't realize I was down 9.4 pounds since last week. That really rocks!! I'm going to be doing the happy dance all week! I know this is because I'm so newly post-op but I'm still delighted. I love my sleeve! Deedee, you are doing great. How cool that you're in maintenance now! AJW, you're going to be in the 150's before you know it. Chancie, it's good to see you back here!
  5. Hi Bored, Are you able to tolerate Greek Yogurt? I am really relying on it right now because it's so high in Protein. I've never been a milk drinker but I am hoping that small amounts of cheese will be fine once I get to that stage.
  6. Hi Daisy, I think it's too sweet as well, but I put it into the blender with ice cubes to dilute it a bit. I'm viewing it as medicinal and as that, it's easy to get down. I also use the Light but it's still high in calories at 160 each. That said, I need the Protein so I'm going to happily use them!
  7. Hi Everyone, Just checkin in. I've had a great weekend. Sleeping better. Last night went to a friends to watch movies. This morning drove for the first time and went to Whole Foods. I guess I've pampered myself and not even gotten in my car since surgery. This afternoon went with a friend to see a movie. I've walked 4 days in a row. Three days on treadmill and today 30 minutes at Lake Merritt because it was a gorgeous day. I'm doing good on Full Liquids and hope that I'll be moved to Pureed when Robin calls me on Wednesday. Anyone going to the Richmond meeting on Wednesday? I'm planning to go. How's everyone's weekend been?
  8. Thanks for this suggestion. I went to Whole Foods this morning and found it there. I tried the plain and also got a vanilla for a treat. I don't generally get the flavored yogurts because the carb count is higher. Maybe I'll get a ginger one next time. I really liked the plain without anything in it. Just really tart and yummy!
  9. Michelle, Thanks for updating us! I'm really happy to read how well you're doing. Hey, count me in on that "wish I'd had it sooner"!!
  10. Thank you so much for taking the time to post your experience. Congratulations on a great surgery!
  11. Good suggestion Sparkle. Thanks!
  12. I love how we all support each other around here. Thank you all for sharing your experiences. I think it's just the Protein powder, both Optimum Nutrition and Chike so I'm putting those to rest for now. Daisy, you're an angel! I didn't realize that Muscle Milk Light is lactose free. I have a case of those puppies!! I know what I'll be drinking today!
  13. Make the best of this time with no hunger. I found that my hunger started to come back around day 10. I think it's different for everyone. It's really terrific to see you doing so well. Good luck with this upcoming week!
  14. Thanks Carol. It's interesting that I'm fine when I eat greek yogurt and cream of wheat w/soymilk, but as soon as I add in Optimum Nutrition Whey powder or Chike, I go off again. I haven't had any cream soups, except Trader Joe's Organic Creamy Tomato soup and I think I was ok with that. It seems to be the Protein powders that do me in. I'm hopeful that I'll soon be on pureed foods, just another week or so, then I can get my protein from better sources. I'm glad I'm not the only one in this boat, but that said, I'm sorry it happened to you as well. I'm glad yours cleared up. I'd hate to not be able to eat cheese etc.
  15. That's great news about breaking your stall. Way to go on mixing it up!
  16. Thanks for the replies Tiffy, Nikki and Jewels. I think this is just going to be a learning process for me. I did ok on Greek Yogurt this morning followed by Cream of Wheat w/soymilk for lunch. The Cream of Wheat was great after living on Soup and yogurt.
  17. Oh Nikki!! What a fabulous story. I'm sorry you had all this grief! I almost laughed but knew I'd be crying if I were you. Glad it got resolved.
  18. What a great victory!! I'm really happy for you.
  19. Does the sun find the scars through a bathing suit?? Ok, I'm a nerd! :wink0:
  20. Tracy, Welcome to VST! I think you're making a wonderful decision. I too thought that I wanted the Band because I knew I didn't want the RNY. It was over at lapbandtalk that I first heard about the Sleeve and found my way here. I am so happy with my new Sleeve!
  21. Congratulations Rose. What a great job you've done with your Sleeve. Reaching goal so quickly is quite impressive. Thanks for coming back to inspire us newbies!
  22. Hello Team, I thought I was finally over the 4 days of massive runs. I did mostly Clear liquids on Wednesday and yesterday felt good. This morning I had a Chike Protein shake and it sent me straight back to the bathroom. The same thing happened this afternoon after a sugar free fudgesicle. Have any of you become lactose intolerant post op? Does it go away? How long until it does? Any suggestions on things to eat while on Full Liquids? I have another week on full and I don't want to get weak. I may try Greek Yogurt again tomorrow without any other dairy to see if stays in ok. I could live on Greek Yogurt but would love some variety. I haven't made Cream of Wheat or applesauce because I don't want the carbs. What would you do if you were me?
  23. Wow Wow Wow!!! You are rockin that Sleeve. Congratulations. I'm sure you're putting work into this to get such fantastic results. Keep us updated on how you're doing and enjoy your new svelte self!
  24. CoCo, feel better. Please rest and don't leave your bed or couch. I had this for 10 days. It's relentless. Tamra, You're a big girl. Take the Nips, put them in the trash and pour cleanser all over them. If you keep eating them you'll be hating yourself. I'm getting lots of work done!
  25. I love your sleeve too!
