  1. I eat from baby spoons a lot of the time and it's the right size for me. I chew my food 30-50 times.
  2. I'm ~5 weeks out and I still don't get hungry or think about food 24/7. I only eat when my stomach growls at me at meal time. It's great not to obsess about what my next big fat meal will be! I hardly have an appetite at all..no bandster hell for me. I also was hardly thirsty my first 2 weeks...I lived on tomato Soup, capri sun juice, sf Jello, Water and beef and chicken broth.
  3. I either wait it out and win OR wait it out and it wins by coming back up....
  4. I've been stuck at 16-18 lbs lost for 2 weeks. I was told don't worry about weight loss until after ur first fill/adjustment. I'm scheduled for my first fill at 8 weeks out. Don't get discouraged!! Also I have noticed my clothes getting loser but the scales not moving u may be losing inches and not lbs. Give ur body time to heal. I can't wait until I'm cleared for abdominal exercises, I miss my Core Rhythms!!!
  5. I guess I am more disgusted by my friends and family whom I always hear "We're starting a diet next week" and it NEVER happens and I'm sick of hearing about diets. I've been "dieting since I was 10 and someone bought me Richard Simmons Deal-A Meal for Christmas..... I've done Jenny Craig, Nutri-system, Weight Watchers, Atkins, you name it. I'm disgusted by the rest of my family who likes being fat slobs and eating till the cows come home, except my mom she's getting her lapband in February. We are in this together and want to change our lives for the better.
  6. I'm new in this game but so far: * I don't miss thinking about what my next big fat meal is going to be *I don't think about food and eating 24/7 *I've lost some puffiness in my face I've gained: *More energy and a "get up and do it" attitude *The ability to not care what others think about me and always wanting to be liked *The time to enjoy cooking instead of going out to eat every meal or 10+ times a week An odd unexpected side effect is that I have no sympathy for fat people anymore....they disgust me....I wonder if that's how normal sized people have always seen bigger people...I'm still trying to wrap my mind around how I feel about these unexpected feelings..
  7. good for you! I hate it when people try to leave leftovers at the fat persons house or buy the fat person candy, cakes and Cookies for holidays... good luck!
  8. I financed mine through Care Credit its a plastic surgery credit card company. My payment will be about $308/month. Also if you pay down a big chuck like with ur tax money the note will go down automatically...hope this helps. I applied and got approved for 15K and 13,271 was put on it. http://www.carecredit.com
  9. Hi Jasonian I was banded 2 says b4 u and am having lower back pain too..I can feel my port, 5 inches above my bellybutton, now that enough swelling has gone down..I think some pain is radiating to my lower back if i sit for too long and irritate the still swollen port area.. I have been taking ibuprofren when it gets too bad. I was up one night in tears because it was so bad..but other than random lower back pain I'm great!
  10. Thanks!! I am dying to make that Mexican lasagna!!
  11. I practiced this pre-op not drinking after meals. After you eat rinse your mouth out with water then go brush your teeth. Then you have a fresh clean feeling. You don't want to drink so you don't flush the food out of your band so you stay fuller longer. Some people chew gum to help abstain from drinking, but I've heard gum can get stuck if you swallow it and would have to be retrieved with a scope by your doctor. Hope this helps. It's what I plan on doing again after I get back on real food. I'm transitioning from liquids to mushies right now. Good luck!
  12. lol...anything you could eat if you have no teeth...that helps me a lot I start mushies in a few days and was wondering the same thing...thanks!
  13. I'm not a big fan of milk either I diink an ounce of "liquid Life" (bought it at Sam's club) everyday to make sure I get my calcium. Then when you are on regular foods you can take Viactiv caramel chews to get your calcium. Milk isn't required its just a liquid option. I drink a lot of 100% apple juice in the little kid size juice box with the straw.
  14. I have heard of the procedure being available. haven't heard of anything negative about it. mine was 4 small incisions 3 were an inch or less and one was 2 inches.
