Well unless you don't mind the feel of a string between the cheeks then good. . .I personally dont like that feeling so I don't wear those. Also, working in a health clinic, I've seen alot of problems caused by these thongs. . especially BV (bacterial vaginosis) soooo having said that. . .
  2. Hi there and congratulations on your decision! Your going to be so happy you did this. . . well now to your problem. . on the 5 day pouch test it states that you can have a little bit of carbs if your headaches are too bad, but carbs in good forms like an orange or banana or apple sauce. But just 1 not the whole bowl. . . lol. . . try some coffee as well along with the tylenol, that may help a bit too. . .good luck I know it's hard, but it's only temporary!
  3. I'm sorry this is happening to you. . and yes it is very annoying. . . I've been at the same weight give or take 5 lbs for the past 6 months. . . but i look at it this way, at least you've lost weight and your 1/2 way there. . . that's more then you could have said about yourself a year ago. . . good for you and keep up the great work. . . yes cut out some carbs, increase the proteins, and water intake and see what happens. . . I'm not a preacher about exercise but if you do that . . . THEN GOOD FOR YOU. . . Its better then what i do Good luck!!!
  4. Hey there! Hows it going with you Raine? Have you been to the doc lately? Your doing fabulously!
  5. The food thing is progressive, just do the best you can for now and follow the post op diet. . . you will eventually get there. . . I don't think anyone could get all that stuff into their tiny tummies at 17 days out. . . now that pain is a totally different story. . . I'd physically go over to the doctor and demand to be seen. . . I don't know what that would be but it doesn't sound normal. . . or go to the ER where you had the surgery and get seen there. . . good luck and let us know. . .
  6. I totally understand your privacy thing. . .but the success rate is so awesome that it's hard to hide the fact as you say. . . he is so proud of his success that he just wants to shout it from the rooftops and he is proud of your success too. . . it's hard when it's best friends and lies do snowball (the truth will set you free) but it's really a decision you have to make. . . my hubbie didn't want me to tell anyone either, but i do anyhow, this surgery isn't easy and it's so nice that you have hubbie to support you. . .so what if he's a blabber mouth. . .it's a great thing you two did together and together both of you will succeed with the weight loss. . . who knows maybe one day the two of you could advocate for others struggling with obesity. . . good luck!
  7. those sound really yum. . . but BEWARE of the coconut. . . it doesn't digest well and gets into a ball and causes A LOT OF PAIN!!!! take it from someone who knows! Good luck!
  8. My doctor too, did not require a pre op diet, only on the day before surgery, Clear Liquids, so I just did a preop anyhow. I just followed adkins and lost about 22 lbs before surgery. I didn't notice if i did better or not after surgery this having been my 18th major surgery I just automatically knew what to do and expect. Get up early out and walk a lot, do the incentive spirometry, and then walk more and sip sip sip, make sure i pee and get those bowels movin and thats it. . . home i went after 3 days. . . .
  9. Good Morning and Thank God its THURSDAY!!!! Today goes like this: Breakfast: 2 scrambled eggs with a bit of jalepeno pepper and onion coffee, Ibuprophen, and lasix lunch : 1 select harvest Soup (vegatable) Snack: diet rootbeer Dinner: spa lean cuisine Snack: 2 oz chedder cheese.
  10. Fabulous job! Keep it up! You look great! You look good in both pictures but much healthier in the bikini one!
  11. Easy, my WLS doctor decided that for me. He told me for my height and bone structure I should weigh 212 lbs and that was the goal. . . as you see I surpassed that and would like to loose about 25-30 lbs more.
  12. I don't think horrible is a good word. I didn't feel badly at all, like i posted before, the pain is nothing that plain tylenol can't take care of. . but its the gas pain that hurts. . .so alot of walking, and drinking warm liquids is really recommended. . . my doctor actually recommended Miralax to get stuff moving as well. . . but you know everyone is different. . i can tolerate ALOT of pain (not a good torture victim, wouldn't work well) lol . . . . but you may be more sensative to pain. . . but it's definately not childbirth. . .
  13. Ok, I'm sure you've heard this before, "with friends like that, who needs enemies" Super jealous friend. . she wants to keep her fat friends around her so she doesn't have to do anything about anything. You get your surgery and together we all will win the obesity cycle! Good luck and I'm so happy your darlin hubbie supports you with this. . .
  14. 2 weeks is what i took off. . . doctor told me 1 week would have been fine, but i wanted more of a break, so i asked for 2 weeks. I'm glad i did that
  15. I was self pay . . . here in San Antonio TX i paid $15,500 and that included everything, surgeon, hospital stay 3 days in a private hospital, all supplies, anesthesia, leak test, labs, 1 year of follow up, etc. . I went through our credit union and got a nice loan for 3%. Good luck
  16. Hi there! I wasn't 400 lbs but close to it, I weighed 350 lbs at my highest and have lost 150 lbs with the sleeve. I would like to lose about 25 - 30 lbs more. . .I think the sleeve is really a blessing. It can be frustrating at times, but a blessing nonetheless. . . good luck with your decision.
  17. I'm 50 and had very minimal pain. . .nothing that tylenol couldn't handle. In the hospital the gas pain was the killer, but i walked like a mad woman and that helped alot. (staff even got upset with me cause i was walking too much ! LOL )
  18. I've lost 150 lbs and since i've gotten really used to my new self, I'm in the mentality of "god, I'm fat, I need to loose weight". To stop that thinking I look back on pictures of how big i used to be and then tell myself i'm not that person anymore. . . but your friend is right, if you think that loosing all your weight will make you "happier" that is something you have to exam more closely. . .you'll be more happier with the success you've had initially, but remember even though you've lost tons of weight, your problems and emotions will still be there. After the honeymoon period is over, then life is just like normal and you go back to normal. The honeymoon period is where your loosing tons of weight, buying new clothes, getting compliments like crazy, getting passes made at you and basically getting alot of attention. . . then it slows down and eventually stops and your back to your life as you know it, but lighter. . . .hope that explaination helps a bit
  19. the frozen shrimp is good. I make mine the only way I know how, curried. . . many people don't like curry cause they are afraid how it smells but i've cooked with curry for over 30 years EVERYDAY and let me tell you it doesn't smell any weird ways. . . hope you find yourself a good receipe
  20. Well, I'm not a fan of the scale, but I would really recommend using 1 only, either the one at the doctor or the 1 at the gym every time. Sorry I'm not any help. I don't own a scale
  21. SUSAN!!!!!! WOW GIRL ITS BEEN A LONG TIME! Sorry to hear you've had some not good times but life is that way. . we need to be tested on our paths. . . glad to see you back. You look fabulous!
  22. I don't think your missing out on anything except a heart attack waiting to happen. . . your missing your old habits and that is all. Nothing weird or anything, your doing fabulous. . . remember this is only temporary and sooner than you want you'll be eating away at whatever you want except it's going to be in small small amounts. . . so don't fret about anything right now. . . you were just having a bit of a pity party with your brain, that's all. So pull up those big girl panties and enjoy your vacation with or without food! Your going to be so much better off with your liquids! by the way, Soups are great! Just slurp the broth and not the food in it, You CAN do it!!!!!! Just think how good you'll feel when everyone is soooooooooooooo damn full and sleepy, and your just bouncy and ready to go. . . .
  23. Well just check out my weight loss. . . I have about 30 more to lose and have done it all without the DS. So based on that statistic I don't believe you NEED to have the DS, RNY. Sleeve worked just fine for me. But the decision is yours. Good luck!
  24. Hi Wendy, well it really depends on how much weight you have to lose and what their limits are in order to get onto a roller coaster. Good luck to you and let us know
  25. Of course they are going to tell you that. . . they don't want you to have the surgery. . . doomsayers is what i call them. . . but anyone whose gone to Mexico on this forum has definately not been killed by the drug cartel have they? Shheeeesh your family is something else girl! Good luck to you and you'll be fine. . . just remember if you let fear rule you, how will you ever come out on top on win this obesity battle???
