Why can't I talk to my mother about this?
I still haven't found the courage to tell my mother. She's a very petite lady who walks 5 miles a day and has never had a weight problem in her life so I really don't think she would understand and I think she would be really worried. I'm thinking of waiting until after my surgery as well. When the weight starts coming off then I'll explain.

I'm ready...
The ball is finally rolling towards actually getting the lapband. It's almost unbelievable and I'm surprised that I'm actually going through with it. It's seems like quite a big step to take, but I am willing to go through it. I am so tired of this vicious cycle of losing, gaining, losing, gaining. I want to finally lose and KEEP IT OFF! I have been overweight all my life. I want to be healthy and not walk around with this horrible weight on my knees. I want to be able to run and jump without getting winded. I want to be able to shop in the misses department which I have never been able to do in my adult life. I'm ready for a NEW ME!

Anyone use Ladie's Workout Express?
I'm probably kinda late with this reply, but I joined Workout Express (same thing as Ladies Workout Express only men are allowed) about a year and a half ago and I absolutely love it. I go religiously at least 3 times a week. I have not lost any weight from going, but I've had several people comment how my body shape has changed. I can do a lot of things physically that I couldn't do before I started working out. Now, If I could just stop eating maybe I can lose some weight...hence me getting the band. Workout Express is great! Keep it up and you will see wonderful changes in your body!

Fills.....????
From what I understand (and I'm still learning so I may be wrong). Several fills maybe needed NOT because they have stretched their stomachs and need to make it tighter again, but because it may take several fills to reach what some call "the sweet spot". The band is filled a little at a time until proper restriction is achieved.

I Never Really Introduced Myself
Thanks to all of you, I do have a place where I can talk to people who understand.

Need Advise
I've been back and forth so many times about the decision to have surgery. I was scared to death after reading about complications that could occur with the band. I got discouraged after family and friends told me not to do it. My point is you will probably hear a lot of negative things about the band from doctors, family, friends and even strangers, but only YOU know what's best for YOUR body. Gather as much information as possible about the surgery...Good and Bad. I'm sure you will come to the conclusion that the band is a wonderful tool that can help you in managing your weight. Good luck with your decision.

Pre-Opt Diet is harder than expected!
Hang in there...You can do it!!!

I Never Really Introduced Myself
I've been gathering all the information I can about the Lapband since this summer and I've finally made the decision to become banded. I don't have much support in my personal life. I just told my best friend of 19 years that I was having it done and her comment was "I think it's just an easy way out. You've lost weight before so you can do it again" Of course, my response was that the weight always comes back, but she wasn't buying it. My husband supports me, but he's a little worried. Being on this site has been such a blessing. I have been truly inspired by so many of you. It's great reading about other people who are considering the band, have the band or have lost the band. I am so ready to take control of my weight. My surgery date of March 15th seems so far away, but I know it will be here before I know it. Happy New Year to everyone! 2007 is going to be a great year!!!

Here's to hoping my life is about to change!
It's amazing that losing weight can change so many things. As I read your list, I started to tear up because I feel the same way about alot of the same things. Having this surgery will probably be one the best decisions you'll ever make. I'm looking forward to following you throughout your journey. Keep us posted.

I thought this would be....well...doable, but GOD it's HARD!!
I am not looking forward to 2 weeks of liquids either, so you have my sympathy. Hang in there...I hear it gets better after the first few days.

22 days until band land
Some of those same questions run through my head, but we'll never know until we try. I think you'll do just fine. Stay positive!

When I weighed at the doctor yesterday I was 275LBS...OH MY GOODNESS! I didn't think I weighed that much! BMI 40.8...GEEZ! I think something was wrong with their scale...LOL! My goal weight is 175lbs...maybe 165. I can't wait to get there! March seems so far away, but I know it will go by quickly.
