Don't worry about that part, that is the easy part for sure. Hmmm intersting about your tastes changing, haven't heard that. Well this is my last evening, I did go for my cheeseburger today at Clay's restaurant, have you been there?

Looking for already banders or soon to be in the Houston/Cypress area!
My doctor's office told me that my insurance would require the 6 months of weight mgmt but I called them and they told me that my policy did not require that. So I did all the tests the doctor required and within 1 month and 1 week of starting I am having my surgery. I'm glad it didn't take the 6 months because I was laid off my job and I am now on my Cobra insurance. So I am not working now, a friend of mine only took a week off. I am not looking forward to the next couple of weeks.

I know...only 2 days...yikes!!! I have been on a low carb diet the last 2 weeks but tomorrow I am going to go have a cheeseburger. I am getting nervous, but I am so ready to get this party started! Have you already done your pre-surgery procedures, sleep study, EGD etc?

I will be banded on 9/22. I am in the Houston/Katy area. I am using Dr Bonnor. My process has been pretty fast, I saw Dr Bonnor last month and my surgery is next week. I am excited...and a little scared. Let me know when you get a date.

Wanna be
ParrotHeadCathy...I like the way that you put that the band is a built in stop signal! My surgery is scheduled for 9/22 and I am just getting over a respitory infection, the last day of my medication is tomorrow but I still have a little drainage do you guys think that will have an affect on my surgery? My pre-op tests are tomorrow.

Pill crushing - Ideas needed for taste
I have been worried about the pill crushing myself. I take several pills. I haven't even thought about the yucky taste, I was just worried about crushing and mixing so many pills/capsules.

Hi - anyone else starting this journey OVER 50??
Deb, I am going to the free seminar on Wednesday. Tomorrow I have to go to the gastroenterologist (sp?) for a consultation to have a EGD done to see if I have a hiatial (sp?) hernia. I have already done the sleep study to see if I have sleep apnea, then I go to a nutritionist and then a psychiatrist to get a release to have the procedure. Then it is just waiting on insurance to approve, if I don't have to do the 6 months of weight mgmt. Wish I had done this a few years ago, it seems every year my doctor keeps adding some sort of pill for me to take....aaahhhhh! Keep in touch and let me know how your experience goes. Susan

Hi - anyone else starting this journey OVER 50??
Decolady (Deb) I am 54 and just starting, waiting on the insurance process. ): I was told about the 6 month weight mgmt by the doctors office, but my insurance co (United Health Care) told me my policy does not have that restriction...if I have 5 years of medical records showing a BMI over 35% considering my other health problems of High BP, diabetes, etc. So I went to my PCP today to have them send my records. I then called the and talked doctors office and they said they would file my pre-cert as soon as they get my PCP's records. So I guess we may be starting this process about the same time! Good luck and keep in touch. Susan Houston, TX
