Been Approved

Was approved and going to be banded September 24th. Excited but scared also. Have question regarding pre op diet and was told to get low carb protein drink. They want 7 or less grams of carbs and less than 5 sugar. I found a protein mix called Optimum Nution by Whey. Any suggestions if this any good and if so what flavor? Tried the EAS Myoplex Lite and it was pretty good.

Hi momamia. I don't have any experience with that particular brand. It seemed to me that the higher the protein content of the drinks, the better it managed my hunger. Good luck!

Hi, my doctor recommends Carnation Instant Breakfast...No Sugar Added mixed with skim milk. It's high in protein and comes in chocolate, strawberry and French vanilla.

I've had Whey before. Delicious! Sometimes I even drink it when I'm not on a liquid diet. Vanilla was/is my favorite. My only complaint is that right after the surgery, I could taste every single particle of that drink. Before was fine, and a few months after was good, too. Just, for me, my tastes were hightened immediately after surgery.

Good luck!

Got my surgery date today. Sept 22 is my day of new beginnings!
