  6. Hey everyone. I'm 27 and just finished my last requirement and I started this journey June 26, 2009. I shared this decision with my immediate family and a cousin. I don't want to share because I don't want to deal with the judgements. I'm scared, nervous and excited. I'm just ready to begin my life. I am scared about the preop diet, but I'm ready.....wishing everyone all success and happiness.

Thank you for all the suggestions, I don't have a surgery date yet, but I want to prepare myself with the shakes since the doctor said I have to have 4 to 5 per day......although I love food, I am very picky lol....I will try all the suggestions until I find one I love and buy in bulk lol.:thumbup:
  10. Thanks for the suggestions.....My doctor suggesting medifast but it's expensive since he wants me to have 4 a day for 2 weeks......preparing myself now

  12. Food is a very big part of my life, I express myself with food....I eat when I'm happy, sad, nervous, angry, but I'm ready to battle this mental disease and win with the help of the lap band lol.

  15. Everything is slowly coming into place. I finished all the testing required as per my doctor and insurance, just need to make sure they send my clearance letters to the surgeon. I just made my nut and psy appt. I'm almost at the finish line. Thanks for eveyone's kind words and support. My journey began 6/26/2009 when I met Dr. Geiss (surgeon). I'm officially no longer discouraged and nervous, but super excited. Hey everyone lol :w00t:
  16. I'm currently working on my requirements, but my doctor/insurance required: Psy and Nut consult PFT/Sleep Study ECHO/Stress/CHest X-ray Upper GI Lab work All I have left is the psy and nut consult and making sure the doctors send my clearance letters.
  17. My first support group was scary too. I was the youngest in the room as well, but after listening to everyone's stories I started feeling comfortable. I didn't ask any questions either. I'm still preop myself working on my requirements because I'm worried about hanging skin, I try to work often. Good luck momma....wishing you all the best

  20. @MsFab1988 thank you that was sweet. I'm almost done, I'm thankful I was able to take a week off from work to get things done. I have my echo monday, stress test tuesday, sleep study wednesday and my endoscopy today. I have my pul follow up tomorrow. I've been busy.
  21. @neesh I'm currently on vacation and I had a lot of double appointments too lol
  22. @libriteen believe me after I ranted, I felt a lot better, but I finished the medical portion of my requirements....all I have left is my psy and nutrition consult and follow up with my pul and gastro. Things are starting to move now that I'm on vacation and able to take any appointment these doctors are giving me.

  24. @Meikobobo....Not negative at all....very helpful. Thank you. It's a lot to consider and never having surgery before doesn't help, but believe me when I tell you, I'm ready. thanks for the response and support
