  1. Sounds like you are the right path! I think you have to go into with a positive attitude for it to work. If your husband is supportive that really is an added plus.
  2. Oh my gosh! I hope you get better. If you felt like you would be very welcome to come. Rest and let yourself get better. I said a prayer for you. Get those people together over there!! My best friend is from DeRidder LA.
  3. Congratulations!! Sound like you have been working hard and still plan to. You should be very proud!!
  4. I had a fill on Tuesday my 2nd one. I have 3cc in 10 cc band. And last night I was eating a small piece of pizza which I have also eaten once in a while in the last 10 weeks and had no trouble. I too got stuck and it was heck for about an hour. Bad thing was my 3 year old Grandbaby was here and I did not want her to know what was going on. So I had to pretend everything was fine till I finally threw it up and all was well. Are you a nurse? My daughter in law is a nurse and when she delivered her babies she did not tell the hospital she was a nurse because she says they make you do everything yourself then. You had a right to know anything and everything they do to you or put in you at the Dr's office. The nurse was rude. Hang in there it will get better. Your weight is nothing to be ashamed of if you had a couple of weeks without losing, your body was probably adjusting.
  5. Congratulations! You have done great! I hope my experience will be as good as yours. So far so good!!
  6. Come on ladies we are just meeting for coffe at a public place for about an hour. Come meet with us.
  7. I lost 100 lbs before and totally freaked out I did not know who I was and what I was suppose to do with myself. I was very emotional and kinda bitchy too. I did not know how to relate to people I spent a lot of time in the corner of my bedroom floor crying. Since then a lot of years have gone by and of course the weight came back. But in the past 5 years I spend 2½ years in counseling and hope I can deal with it this time. But if I can't I know just who to book an appointment with. This was the one concern my husband had when I talked about getting this surgery. Was if I felt I needed help that I would see my counselor again and I agreed. I liked being thin but it was not me or something crazy like that. I had no walls up around me and I did not like that.
  8. People who live in Galveston County and want to meet for support. A couple of us are going to meet this weekend to drink some coffee and talk. Want to join us let us know. Dr. Spivak is my Dr, but other people have different Drs. So if you want to meet let us know. I think we are trying for Sunday afternoon.:scared2:
  9. Going to the Doctor will help with your anxiety. Maybe it is not a slipped band. Or if it is I heard they take the fill out for a couple of weeks and it sometime returns to the right position. Don't worry until you have to it may be nothing to do with a slippage. Let us know after you go!!
  10. I am still praying! Hang in there! Maybe if they want it to be outpatient you could pay the difference for a one night. I was self-pay all the way.
  11. We are almost the same except I have been married for 29 years and am 48. But our height and weight is my starting weight. I am 10 weeks post op and down 25 lbs. I was scared to tell my husband too, but he was fine with it but worried about the surgery part of course. I also suffer from depression and he was concerned about that since food is my friend. But in the end he is very supportive and helpful in everyway. But I think even if he said he did not want me to do it I would have done it anyway. I wanted to do this really bad and he has never had a weight problem ever and I have struggle my whole life. Twice I have lost 100 lbs only to gain it back over a 5 year period each time. Talk to him about it. He will come around maybe he will just need some time. Take him to a seminar that will help, I took my husband with me and to my first Dr. visit.
  12. Who said you can't have bananas? Your doctor? I have eaten them since the very beginning. Did you decide to keep your band? I think I read once you were wanting it removed. I hope it all works out for you. I know since you are younger it might make life a little harder for you. I hope you decide to keep it. I think you will be happy you did later on. But what I read sound like you have had touch times. Hope they get better for you!!
  13. I eat bananas, apples, watermelon and and pretty much all fruits so far.
  14. I work Monday - Friday but can meet anytime after five and anytime om the weekends
  15. Congratulations on getting approved!!!
  16. I agree I think that is an excellent book and you can learn a lot about yourself and your husband. Also I want to say something that I have noticed about some people including myself once when I lost a lot of weight. Sometimes we become full of ourselves and think that maybe we settled or stayed because no one else would want us. I say that as nicely as possible because I am not trying to judge you. Like I said it happened to me when I lost a large amount of weight in the past. I love my husband so much but was not sure what to do with myself or how to handle the weight lost and it just played with all aspects of my life.
  17. Keep a bottle of water by your bed at night. I drink a bottle a night and that helps.
  18. Try chewing sugarfree gum or mints. Or just have one or two bites every couple of weeks of something you love, unless it will become a trigger for you to continue. I have heard of someone buying Semi-sweet chocolate chips and keeping them in the freezer and only eating two or three a day. Frozen grapes or watermelon might help with the sweetness factor.
  19. I don't think people do it to be rude. But it is like talking to a friend then you think of something else off topic and the subject just changes. Don't let it bug you I don't think people mean any harm.
  20. I think you should try to eat protein for breakfast instead of drinking it. My Dr. say only eat portein and not drink it that the band was designed for eating solid food, not drinking your meals. I do not know if that will help you or not just a thought. I know a lot of people here drink protein shakes but my Dr. say not to, maybe try it for a week and see if it works, can't hurt. Hope it speeds up for you!
  21. Sorry you had a bad start!! Maybe from this point on it will be better. I have been banded for 10 weeks and so far have not vomited or felt the need to. I hope it stays that way. I go tomorrow for my second fill. Welcome to the Boards! keep in touch. If you ever need to just private message me.
  22. Sorry you are going through this. I hope the changing up your food for a couple of weeks helps. Don't hate yourself, just start over and get going. Even when I did not have restriction I still measured out my food and only eat that much whether I could eat more or not. Maybe you are relying on the band too much. If you measure and only eat what you know you are suppose to you should lose. Hope all works out for you. Keep in touch!!
  23. Welcome!! I read these posts for about a week before I was sure I wanted the surgery. Now at 10 weeks post op I can't stay off of them. There is a lot of good information to learn, but no matter what people say listen to your Doctor first. keep in touch
  24. Wow that is a lot of liquids. I did not have to do that long of liquids, but when I was on mushies I was hungry all the time. After I had my first fill all hunger stopped. So the only thing I can offer you is drink lots and lots of water and know soon a time will come and the hunger will stop. It will be hard but you can do it!!! Hang in there!!
  25. I am still doing good and hanging in there!
