1st Post op review cancelled and I dont want to put the weight back on!!
That does not sound like too much to me. I eat chicken salad most of the time and sometimes eggs. I like easy stuff. But now that you are off of the mushies you should lose weight easier even without a fill.

A little down
I would not worry about his opinion right now you have to do what is best for you and your health. I think you are making a good decision to improve your health. I read a few times were people are told they are just taking the easy way out but it is not that easy. You still have to watch what you eat and drink your water and exercise. Maybe when he sees what great progress you make he will want it to. Sometimes when there are two overweight people and one loses the other one gets scared that they will be left overweight alone.

Once you get on solids you should not have trouble just measure what you eat and drink a lot of water. I only have one small fill and I am 7 weeks post op. You will lose. It is just on the mushies you seem to not loose because I don't think it stays in the pouch as long as solids.

Hoping and Praying
Thanks! yes I am down a pant size and that feels good! Keep in touch and let me know how it goes for you and what you decide. You dr. may not make you even go on a 6 month diet. Who knows.

Hoping and Praying
I know 6 months is a long time. I did not have to do any type of pre op diet because I was self pay. I did get mine really fast because of that reason. But if I would have had to do a diet I would have. It is so worth having some HOPE that when you lose it this time it might be gone for good. That feels so good!!! I am 7 weeks post op and down about 22 lbs since surgery. I eat pretty much whatever I want keeping to protein first. I have not vomitted or slimed or anything like that. I did get a piece of banana stuck but I just coughed and up it came. My experience with everything involving the band has been great. I had Taco bell the other day, and I ate one taco and dumped out the inside of other one and ate that and I am full. This is worth doing in my opinion.

Hoping and Praying
6 months are going to go by whether you follow the pre op diet or not. So why not spend the 6 months getting ready for a great change in you life that can help you from that point on instead of eating for that 6 months and end up unhappy anyway. You just need a little willpower and then you get the help you want. I spent almost every month doing some type of diet anyway and then regained later. You can do! Find a buddy to do it with maybe even someone on this board. Good Luck!!!!

She is right. It is the best thing I ever did too. I just wish I would have done it a few years earlier

tell me how this surgery has impacted your life
Don't be scared I am a big baby and I did it so I know you can too. The surgery it not bad and the recover is pretty short. I am only 7 weeks post op, but I am feeling fine. I have only had one fill. I eat pretty much whatever I want keeping Protein in mid first. I really do not get hungry, but did for weeks 2 - 4 post op. I have lost about 22 lbs so far.

How many Calories? Protein?
I have added the “New Whey Protein” bullets. Somebody here told me about them. They have 42 g protein, 0 sugar, 0 fat. I get the Blue Raspberry they are only 3.4 oz. most days I just drink ½ and then eat my regular food. I buy them at GNC too. It is a small amount to get down and alot of protein. I think $3.25 each. I can not drink a whole Isopure

I also had a bladder infection. My Dr. said I probably picked it up in the hospital? I am on my 2nd round of antibiotics. But my weight did the same thing and it did come off later. This round it did not happen. Hope you feel better.

Why You Shouldn't Eat Salad
I order his book off of Amazon and it does not match up with everything my Dr. says. But some of his advice is good. :frown:

Anyone with a Port in the chest area instead of on thier side?
I was really sore there too for a couple of weeks. But now I never feel it unless I try to find it. My fill just felt like a bee sting for a couple of minutes. Good Luck to You!

Week 3
My understanding is that protein and solid food stay in the pouch longer. Liquids and really soft foods do not. Try to eat solid food instead of the thing you ate when you were on the mushies stage. I would eat your protien first the veggies and then salad. But that is just me. I have read that salad does not add that much in this way of eating like it did before we had the band and were dieting. Protien first always, but veggies are important. I am only 7 weeks post op today. But be sure and chew and chew!!

Anyone with a Port in the chest area instead of on thier side?
Okay I am not asking then because that is probably why mine is there too. But I don't want to hear it.

Anyone with a Port in the chest area instead of on thier side?
I did not bruise when I got my first fill, but it did sting like a bee sting for a couple of minutes. I just thought it was weird after surgery I could feel something and crazy me I thought I was feeling my band somehow because everything I read when I did reaserch always showed the port on the side. But no my port is in the center of my chest by the rib cage. Glad to know I am not alone.

Anyone with a Port in the chest area instead of on thier side?
My port is located at the top of my rib cage. I know because I can feel it and that is where I got my fill. I was going to ask Dr why it was there, but forget, it was my first fill and I was nervious. Anyone else have one there? It is located at my top scar which is the largest and was bruise really bad.

Before & After Pictures
- 2 weeks to surgery and I am scared out of my mind.
I suffer from extreme anxiety that I take meds for and I did it. It is really no big deal and is over before you know it. Also when you get to hospital if you feel anxiety they can give you something to calm you down. They did that for me. But it will be over before you know it. REALLY!!!!:w00t: - 2 weeks to surgery and I am scared out of my mind.
