Question to people that have lost a lot of weight
you may look alittle older as far as wrinkles and stuff is concerned. But being fat makes you look older too. People always have been able to pretty much guess my age accurately but as i got bigger, people like react like they don't believe me when i tell them i'm in my 20's. And last year even my sister told me her friends tell her i look older than her and she just turned 32 and i at the time i was 24. that's pretty embarrassing. telling your age and people thinking you're older. So people are gonna thinkou're older regardless. it's all in the atter of whay kind of "old lady" look you're going for, fat old lady or skinny wrinkeled old lady.

Sagging skin after weight loss
i had liposuction last year october almost the exact date i had my vsg. it looked pretty good at the time. but i did notice some losening of the skin of my stomach but it didn't look loose(it just felt loose) so that's all that mattered to me. but now that i'm loseing weight i fear that the more weight i lose the more loose my stomache would start to look. has anyone lost about 70lbs without needing a second procedure. i really just don't wanna go under the knive again, but i really wanna look good in a bikini and/or naked.

Exercise help here, please!
you're completely right! however i was just explaining how working out at home doesn't work for me. It's not like i'm proud of stopping when i start excersising that's why i think going outside and jogging would work better for me cause my feeling easily embarrased and feeling like everyone is watching me would probably force me to not give up as easily as i would in my livingroom... hopefully:001_unsure:

yeah i guess ur right about the weightloss i'm just gonna wait it out

Exercise help here, please!
i'm alittle over 3weeks post op. I tried to excersise last week at home using dvd's. But one thing about excersising at home that stops me from continueing is the fact that i can stop whenever i want to; guilt free... No one is watching, no embarrassment for being so out of shape. So because of that i can never rely on working out in my house. On surgery day i was around 223-224lbs now i've been stuck all week between 206-205lbs. I lost about 18lbs without even really trying too hard but i have atleast 50lbs to go before i feel comfortable with my body and now i'm scared that i will never make it to 204lbs. My plan for next week is to by some appopriate work out attire so i can start jogging. Cause i feel like at this rate i'll be lucky if i lose 1lbs/week from now on. i hope i can get my act together by next week cause. i'm pretty dissapointed that i only lost 18lbs in my 1st month and alot of people lost >20lbs.

i'm 25years old,i am 19 days post op i've lost 17lbs so far. i started at 223lbs now i'm 206( i wish i knew how to do that tickertape thing).i love being in my 20's with the sleeve. i feel like i'm gonna lose weight faster, im gonna get to goal quicker, and i'm gonna enjoy being thin more than the older guys and gals. This may very well all be in my head- but i just feel soooo blessed to be able to find the means to afford the sleeve at my age.I'm pretty, young, fun, single, and free. And now with everylbs i losei feel so anxious to live life that way i.e- dating, partying, seeing freinds and ex boyfriends i've been avoiding since i've gained all this weight. i'm just sooo excited about losing more and more weight i'm already close to my "onederland" (under 200lbs)minigoal and i feel like i might each it before i reach 1 month post op!!! i'm just stoked! i've been doing nothing but gaining weight this past 2 1/2 years so i just feel like i'm in a dream come true!!! being young and thin IS AWESOME! and i can't wait to experience that again!

MexicoWeightLossSurgery.com The Facts
i am currently at the recovery home at emmanuel medical. i just realized i had noooooo reason to doubt them. They were doing their thing over here. The hospital, surgery room, and recovery room was clean (my only complain was they should invest some money wih some heaters cause i'm freezing my butt off over hear)but i didn't mention it to them so i'm sure they probably would have done soemthing about it if i told them. besides that, the whole male staff is totally hot from the cooks,to the drivers, to the surgeon, you can't tell in the pic on the websites but DR. Almanaza is A HOT PieCE OF ASS!!! Another thing that i was concerned with was how many surgergies he does i can on tuesday and their was like 10 of us and then thursday there were like 6 or 7 and more came the other days too and he mostly does them all of us the same day we come. i was alittle scared of the situation being a little repetitive and he might slip up. BUt each group had their surgeries and went home fine with no problems. i actually stayed the longest i got here the oct 27, had the surgery the 29th and i'm leaving nov 4th. i'm 3days post op and things are starting to truly looking up most of the pain is gone, the nausea was kicking my but and still is sometimes but it get's better as time goes by. i am 100% satisfied with everything the dr.almanaza /dr. benicourt camp has to offer (cold rooms and all) and i honestly don't think all the others couldn't possibly be much better, especially with their price. and i think if theirs something some might not appreciate is the whole vibe of things. Everybody seems so down to earth and they treat u more like they want to be your friend and not just this bland stiff neck doctor/patient relationship. Which i personally loved!! i like the idea of someone looking at me like a human being and not like number 17 for the week. buti guess some people might feel uncofortable with that vibe but i ate it all up! I LOOOOOOOVE dr.benicourt he is so fabulous and he is living my dream life. i'm not gonna lie I LOVE IT here, i love the people, and don't let nobody lie to you. They ARE DOING THERE THING! and they know what they're doing! If the prices are better than some of the places in india i inquired about i definately would go back to cut out some of the loose skin.

Anyone else belong here?
i started of kinds thin-ish (5'7 155-165lbs) then one point i got up to about 206lbs when i was around 21 but i lost it again when i was 22 and i got down to about 160lbs and there was no sagging skin:thumbup: BUT now at 25years old i'm 240lbs:thumbdown: and my goal weight is between 135-145lbs i personally aint counting on my natural elasticity. i just finished paying off my surgery and i'm having it the end of the month but right after i have my surgery i plan on saving up for a tummytuck just in case i have that problem. So if u need2lose 100+lbs i think some for of saggy skin might happen

Complications after Sleeve Surgery
i'm not sharing cause it's not really my story to tell. The person is on the this board if she wants to talk about it she will. and i spoke to shirley earlier today and i think it might have been just a misunderstanding anyway. it was just one person and she explained the situation a little more to me. so i'm not as nervous about the almanaza group anymore.

Complications after Sleeve Surgery
i don't know i don't really wanna say anything to trash them cause there are two sides to every story and complications can happen with all doctors. but i spoke to someone over the weekend that has had the sleeve with them and she had some serious complications. and i don't know what to think, but i might just be starting to doubt my decision on going there. and usually when my insticts are telling me something it's usually right. but the messed up thing is he's the cheapest in mexico, and i already brought a plane ticket. i'm going to call them tomorrow and talk to them. cause i think i'm starting to let some of the negative press get to me and with the person i spoke to about their experience i kinda am really starting to have my doubts.

Pre-op diet
but what was suggested for my pre op was totally different. 1st they said my pre op would only be a week. and they said it's basically gonnabe a protein shake for breakfast and lunch and dinner would be a salad. and i drink water throughout the day. i'm sorry i don't care if that's a week ,2weeks, or 2months anyone who's about to have weightloss surgery cause of overeating is gonna have a hard time with that... and btw i hate salad. that week is gonna suck!!
-
Full on half cup of soup LOVE THE SLEEVE
that's really amazing. i hope that happens to me

Pre-op diet
I am soooooo scared of the pre-op diet( actually kinda more than the actual surgery itself).i'm so scared i won't be able to fight my hunger for a week and i might slip up one day and eat something i shouldn't eat and then i end of having complications cause of my uncontrolable appetite!!! i'm haveing my surgery the end of october i kinda wanna test drive the pre op diet and see if i can handel it.
-
start preop diet= losing mind
u know they almananza reyes camp gave me a different pre-op diet. they told me protien shakes for breakfast/lunch and a salad for dinner... that's it!! now i see some people get to eat alot more. damnit, lol

Classic, new diet pill
i was wondering about this,(that's how i stumbled upon this thread) has anyone who had the sleeve considered taking a prescription diet pill like(phentermine)? is that possible? cause i actually took phentermine for about a month last year and it really did control my hunger-which was a big shock for me. but i'm getting my sleeve in a month. do anyone think phentermine could help control hunger even more especially with the small size of the stomach? or do you think it would be pointless? if so why? and btw- does anybody notice how evil the word ghreline sound? and at 1st glace it looks (and sound) like the word gremlin. and it's weird cause when i 1st heard of the word and learned what it is, i automatically imagined a little gremlin living in my stomache -not gizmo(i'm talking the evil clone gremlins that popped out of gizmo when he got wet)and it's sending messages to my brain telling me to eat a whole batter of fresh backed chocolate chip cookies and add some extra pecans too.

A Blessing in the form of a curse
i think it depends on where and when u call. if u call emmanuel medical they kinda grill u before they give u a price. but if u call sandy she will tell you they have these tuesday/thrsday prices $6000 but if you go in october it's $5700(that's why i'm going the very last week of october). but i know some people get it for $5000. Even though $5000 is the prefered price, they're all pretty darn good prices compared to everywhere else.
