  1. how long do you do soft foods for?
  2. Hey there! I start my soft foods tomorrow too and on my list is meatloaf, homemade chili, eggs, beef stew etc. it says just to chew 30 times each.
  3. Soexcited: Girl...what would these men do without us? Don't forget though... mama needs takin care of too! Your weight loss is AWESOME!!! You should be sssoooo proud of yourself..I know I am!
  4. My goal is 70 also and am finding VERY difficult. I ordered Unjury unflavored and put it in Crystal Lite and it was AWFUL! I ordered the office packets and put one in one bottle of fruit flavored Crystal Lite...maybe it was too much?
  5. I am sorry that you are having to go thru that. Blessings to you and may you have a safe surgery and journey.
  6. I was banded last wednesday and on Saturday I did go to Wal-Mart b/c I knew I needed to walk to help the gas pains. I was in jammies and a sweatshirt and would not have wanted to go to a party just b/c of the gas pains! But....everyone is different and you might be ready to party! I wouldn't commit with anything but a maybe... Good luck on your surgery!
  7. I had surgery last Wednesday the 14th and also had a hernia repair and came back to work on Monday. I work in accounting/finance so I am at a desk a majority of the day. I also have to commute with two kids one of them still in a carseat so I think I overdid it just a little...but it wasn't bad. If you dont have to tote little one around I think it makes a big diff!
  8. I have been on the cream Soup slump too... V-8 makes some pretty good cream veggie soups like butternut squash, broccoli, and tomato. I like the soup in the hand b/c they are so easy. The only ones we can have is teh cramy chicken and tomato and I am getting dang sick of those! I don't have many oter ideas for full liquids... I have a ton in my head for mushies.....yumm can't wait! Hang in there girl!
  9. Hi Neesh! I was banded the same day as you and I too am finding myself very hungry. It is crazy how some people are not hungry at all then on the flip side there are people like us. Are you still on clear liquids? I am on full liquids moving to mushies tomorrow and man am I ready. I have been "eating" cream chicken soup my protein. Every doctor is different.. I also do everyday as cb0828 says..I take my protein podwer and mix it up as usual...dump it in a blender...add 1/2 banana and 1 T of peanut butter (7 xtra grams of protein) and blend with a little ice. Yummy! It is frothy and good and really holds me over. I am not saying that is what it EXACTLY says to do....but that is what I do too.
  10. hey neesh- i was banded last wednesday as well and today I am super hungry! I am sick sick sick of cream of chicken soup! Looking forward to next week on mushies! Anybody have any other ideas waht to drink/eat on the full liquids portion?
  11. I only weigh on Sunday mornings... I lost 6 from the pre-op diet and 5 since surgery. They say not to focus on it right now...just heal but I document my weight weekly anyway in my Journal. My goal is 150 also even though they say I am supposed to be at 136 or something...I will be ECSTATIC if I get to 150! What are you eating right now...or should I say drinking? I am on full liquids now- then Wed I go to mushies for one week -then soft food one week- then full foods.
  12. Thanks heyred! I read in my booklet from the docs office to start with colace then move to m.o.m. if that doesn't work. I am on it dog-gone-it I don't think you offended anyone....that is the purpose of this site! I ma havinf an AWFUL time concentrating at work today..even though my inbox if crammed full. Anyone else having trouble with this?
  13. Hey everyone- Thanks for your encouragement when I was getting cold feet the day before surgery! I am five days out now (banded on the 14th) and am now back to work! I work in accounting/finance so I am at my desk most of the day. Gas pains was the worse! That was wwwaaaayyy wrose than the dang surgery site! My surgeon found a hernia while she was in there nad fixed that too. Thats weird that I had one of those but anyway.. About the bathroom question... that is definitley a problem and my doc told me to take colace and if that didn't work move on to milk of magneasia. I found today at the drug store they have liquid tylenol for adults! I felt like I needed a little somehting..can't take the good stuff cause I am working. Didn't know they even made that! It is TYlenol liquid rapid release. 1 dose = 1000 mg
  14. That is the only way I can get my protein shakes down. I blend them with 1/2 banana and a little ice and it creates a beatuiful smoothie. I sometimes even put in one t of lowfat peanut butter and gives it another 7 grams of protein. Maybe I shouldn't do that...but it is good.
  15. tmi alert: Hey did that m.o.m. help you go to the bathroom? That is something that has not happend since surgery....if it would do that and help the rest of the gas go away sign me up!
  16. Hey Angela! I was banded on the 14th and have wondered the very same thing! I actually came back to work today (I sit at a desk) and it seems better today. I tried to walk as much as possible and it is kinda under my left collar bone now and going towards my chest...but the first few days were killer! That dang gas pain is the whole reason I took my pain meds! Our age and stats seem very similar and I was banded in Norman- just south of OKC. We should keep in touch!
  17. I am being banded tomorrow...and really getting nervous!
  18. I am being banded tomorrow...I am starting to second guess my decison. Anyone else in the same boat?
  19. cindylou: Are you having to do a period of liquids only prior to surgery?
  20. After reading all of these posts...all I can say is...WOW! Hang in there girl...you can do it! We all know what the right thing to do is...that doesn't always make it easier. The pre-op diet is very difficult. You have had some minor slip-ups but just pick yourself up and start again! Each day passed will be easier and easier. I am getting banded on Wednesday and have been on an all liquid diet also. Take care everyone!
  21. txcloverangel- gurlfriend let me tell you this pre-op diet is for the birds! Thank God I only have one full day left! Hang in there...the closer it gets the easier it gets I think. Before I felt I had some "wiggle" room b/c surgery was x amount of days away...but when it got within a week I was like "man I better do it to it or I will be in trouble!" Most of this protein crap is so bad I would rather lick boots! Have you found any that you like?
  22. SOEXCITED- OMG No I do not have to do that test and THANK GOD! I got chills just reading your description! I am being banded on Wednesday and am hoping they don't sneak that one in...but I am thinking that I would have already done it. I am so glad eveyone's surgery seems to have went well thus far...I look to this forum A LOT for encouragement and knowledge. No one else I know in my circle/family has been through this!
  23. Let us know how you are doing!
  24. Blessings for your surgery tomorrow...i am getting banded on wednesday!!!!
  25. Wow! Thanks for the update, I am so glad it all went well! 5 days to go for me!
