    I'm here to help...

YA'LL I NEED YOUR HELP!!!!!! I was banded 8/20/2009 and started at a weight of 230lbs. I very quickly and successfully got to 185lbs, probably within 4-5 months, which seemed to be almost too thin...I know strange...huh? I have had 3 fills and have plenty of restriction for the first week after the fill. I guess I am just a bit frustrated because my weight is back at 197 ????? I'm going the wrong way.:blushing:I work out in gym 3 times a week and walk for an hour every day while on lunch break at work. Weight is not moving!!!! I am getting really concerned.... any advice????? I am going to call my surgeons office today and get his input.... but if anyone has any suggestions please .... Im open to whatever ya'll can assist with....

OUCH!!! Hard to find Low Profile Port

Hey there!!! I was banded 8/20/2009!! And my first fill was a nightmare. So do not feel bad. They could not find my port, I too was poked and pressed on for 45 min then they restricted me too much and I passed out!!! Horrible. Now my surgeon has mandated that I have to go under Flouro to locate it everytime. It is just a normal thing for me. Even with Flouro I am sore for at least 3-5 days after.... I guess I am just sensitive that way. I normally take a little bit of liquid Tylenol about 30-45 min before my fill then go home and rest after... it helps!! I hope that it gets better for you.... I will be cheering you on!!!
  6. hello im getting banded friday what did u eat like to lost so much weight so fast im around the same size. how long did u stay on liquids? is it true the longer u stay on liquids the faster u lose?

  7. I have lost 51 lbs since surgery 8/20/2009. I feel the same... I have gone from a size 20/22 to a size 12/14 and I also feel great but I still see that big girl in the mirror. I do not know how to get past this. I guess this is the downfall of being big for so many years. I am here if you need me.... Let me know how you are doing... again you look fantastic!!! Oh and the need to still work on your body.... just do it.... it can only keep you healthier and healthier as the days go by...

  8. Thanks for the comment! I feel great, but even though I have lost all the weight I find myself still wanting to work on my body, which I am trying to do! how much have you lost?

  9. Your pics are awesome! Thank you for inspiring.

  10. I have a low tolerance for pain but it really was not too bad. I got up and start walking 7 hours after my surgery and that was slow and uncomfortable but not really that bad. Just make sure that, and I tell everyone this... take the pain meds that they will prescribe they let you rest and allow your body to heal. I dont like taking pain meds but I sure did take these. Give yourself enough time to rest away from work. And whatever you do in the first few days try not to scrunch your belly like sitting up.... try to roll into standing... that is how I hurt myself after my surgery Oh and take the gasX strips and walk to keep the gas pain down because you will have that. Even if it is just up and down the hall. I actually walked down the breezeway from the door of my apt to the apt about 40 feet away.... up and down the breezeway like 10 times every time I walked. And walking keeps the blood clots away.... those are bad you don't want those. If you need anything please contact me.

  11. Hi there! My recovery was kinda hard but not because of the actual surgery. I tried to do too much too soon and hurt myself. Just stick to the diets that are given to you and walk, walk, walk... you have to keep moving to get rid of all of the gas pain that you will have. Take the pain meds that they prescribe it will help your body heal you are going to need the rest. Take enough time off from work... that was my mistake.. I went back too early and ended up on mandatory doctor ordered half days. So take the time and rest..if you need anything please do not hesitate to get in touch with me I will answer all the questions you may have. Let me know if I can help!! Good luck

  12. Hi Battlekat1970,

I am new at this, but I have finally come across someone whom I could actually say no shame in the game. By looking at your picture with that little person next to you gave me a since of sincerity. You look great, keep up the good work. However, I will be having surgery next month, and wanted to know how the recovery was? I talk to the doctors, and my nutritionist I just feel is not the same as talking to someone who had it done, the experience.

  13. Wow! You look fantastic! You remind me of the young, thin Kirsty Alley! Yes, I said thin....you are doing a great job!!

  15. Thanks for the pic comment!!! The liquid diet was really hard for me considering my previous life of eating like a line backer!!!! I just went to the doctor yesterday and I am down 42 lbs.. yay!!! I spend about 45-60 min in the gym 4 days a week.. and I walk for about 40 min during lunch...... you keep it up!!! You will start to lose quickly after you get and keep moving. It felt good the first time I was able to run for 30 min straight!!! Haven't done that for years.
