    I'm here to help...

YA'LL I NEED YOUR HELP!!!!!! I was banded 8/20/2009 and started at a weight of 230lbs. I very quickly and successfully got to 185lbs, probably within 4-5 months, which seemed to be almost too thin...I know strange...huh? I have had 3 fills and have plenty of restriction for the first week after the fill. I guess I am just a bit frustrated because my weight is back at 197 ????? I'm going the wrong way.:blushing:I work out in gym 3 times a week and walk for an hour every day while on lunch break at work. Weight is not moving!!!! I am getting really concerned.... any advice????? I am going to call my surgeons office today and get his input.... but if anyone has any suggestions please .... Im open to whatever ya'll can assist with....

OUCH!!! Hard to find Low Profile Port

Hey there!!! I was banded 8/20/2009!! And my first fill was a nightmare. So do not feel bad. They could not find my port, I too was poked and pressed on for 45 min then they restricted me too much and I passed out!!! Horrible. Now my surgeon has mandated that I have to go under Flouro to locate it everytime. It is just a normal thing for me. Even with Flouro I am sore for at least 3-5 days after.... I guess I am just sensitive that way. I normally take a little bit of liquid Tylenol about 30-45 min before my fill then go home and rest after... it helps!! I hope that it gets better for you.... I will be cheering you on!!!
  4. Hey there girl!!! You must have stepped up your workout or something..... it is really starting to melt off of you now. You look great!!! I was banded on August 20, 2009 and I have lost 51lbs and it was a really slow start...but it is coming off easily now. Good luck to goal and keep it up!!!!!!!!
  5. I have lost 51 lbs since surgery 8/20/2009. I feel the same... I have gone from a size 20/22 to a size 12/14 and I also feel great but I still see that big girl in the mirror. I do not know how to get past this. I guess this is the downfall of being big for so many years. I am here if you need me.... Let me know how you are doing... again you look fantastic!!! Oh and the need to still work on your body.... just do it.... it can only keep you healthier and healthier as the days go by...

    Issues....help!!!

Hello all, I am almost 7 weeks post-op (surgery 8/20/09) and 30lbs are gone forever!!! Having issues. My first fill 9/30 and it was a nightmare. The woman doing my fill hurt me while pushing on my belly looking for my port. The she filled 3cc and could not swallow then almost passed out!!! It was crazy. Then we stuck me a 2nd time and she removed 1cc. Felt ok but still having problems eating during some meals. My biggest problem is that at 7weeks post op my port incision area still hurts. And it feels really thick like I have a bump right under the skin. And I still cannot sleep on that side without it feeling like my insides are sliding over. After UNSUCCESSFULLY trying to get in touch with my surgeon, I have to go see him tomorrow and get it checked out. I am really frustrated. What else can go wrong? I am having really good results so far but I hurt the majority of the time.. Anyone help... if you have been through similar... Thanks

    Holloween2009 1 Me at 275lbs

You are such a pretty woman!! You can see it in your face. I did not see my weight loss happening either but gurl....it was happening!!!! You will see it soon!!! You are doing great.
  9. I have a low tolerance for pain but it really was not too bad. I got up and start walking 7 hours after my surgery and that was slow and uncomfortable but not really that bad. Just make sure that, and I tell everyone this... take the pain meds that they will prescribe they let you rest and allow your body to heal. I dont like taking pain meds but I sure did take these. Give yourself enough time to rest away from work. And whatever you do in the first few days try not to scrunch your belly like sitting up.... try to roll into standing... that is how I hurt myself after my surgery Oh and take the gasX strips and walk to keep the gas pain down because you will have that. Even if it is just up and down the hall. I actually walked down the breezeway from the door of my apt to the apt about 40 feet away.... up and down the breezeway like 10 times every time I walked. And walking keeps the blood clots away.... those are bad you don't want those. If you need anything please contact me.

  10. Hi there! My recovery was kinda hard but not because of the actual surgery. I tried to do too much too soon and hurt myself. Just stick to the diets that are given to you and walk, walk, walk... you have to keep moving to get rid of all of the gas pain that you will have. Take the pain meds that they prescribe it will help your body heal you are going to need the rest. Take enough time off from work... that was my mistake.. I went back too early and ended up on mandatory doctor ordered half days. So take the time and rest..if you need anything please do not hesitate to get in touch with me I will answer all the questions you may have. Let me know if I can help!! Good luck

  12. Thanks for the pic comment!!! The liquid diet was really hard for me considering my previous life of eating like a line backer!!!! I just went to the doctor yesterday and I am down 42 lbs.. yay!!! I spend about 45-60 min in the gym 4 days a week.. and I walk for about 40 min during lunch...... you keep it up!!! You will start to lose quickly after you get and keep moving. It felt good the first time I was able to run for 30 min straight!!! Haven't done that for years.

  13. Battlekat1970

These are my incisions... this was not so bad.... 7 hrs post-op.

I had the standard 5 incisions. I wish they would have been able to do 2 on me that would have been great.
