OUCH!!! Hard to find Low Profile Port
Hey there!!! I was banded 8/20/2009!! And my first fill was a nightmare. So do not feel bad. They could not find my port, I too was poked and pressed on for 45 min then they restricted me too much and I passed out!!! Horrible. Now my surgeon has mandated that I have to go under Flouro to locate it everytime. It is just a normal thing for me. Even with Flouro I am sore for at least 3-5 days after.... I guess I am just sensitive that way. I normally take a little bit of liquid Tylenol about 30-45 min before my fill then go home and rest after... it helps!! I hope that it gets better for you.... I will be cheering you on!!!

Issues....help!!!
Hello all, I am almost 7 weeks post-op (surgery 8/20/09) and 30lbs are gone forever!!! Having issues. My first fill 9/30 and it was a nightmare. The woman doing my fill hurt me while pushing on my belly looking for my port. The she filled 3cc and could not swallow then almost passed out!!! It was crazy. Then we stuck me a 2nd time and she removed 1cc. Felt ok but still having problems eating during some meals. My biggest problem is that at 7weeks post op my port incision area still hurts. And it feels really thick like I have a bump right under the skin. And I still cannot sleep on that side without it feeling like my insides are sliding over. After UNSUCCESSFULLY trying to get in touch with my surgeon, I have to go see him tomorrow and get it checked out. I am really frustrated. What else can go wrong? I am having really good results so far but I hurt the majority of the time.. Anyone help... if you have been through similar... Thanks

Waiting for insurance approval (once it's submitted)!
Ok we are all in the same Aetna boat.... row! row! row! Fortunately Aetna has been very, very pleasant to deal with. The surgery center where I am having it done.... they are the one's dropping the ball. Strike one... they did not let me know that the original surgeon that I had chosen was not in network for my Aetna plan. Easy fix... picked another doctor. Strike two... one of the techs at the center did not take an accurate height measurement.. what? yes that is what happened. My PCP had me at 5'5" and TLC had me at 5'7". Aetna froze my file until we could re-weigh and re-measure. yup 5'5"... correction letter signed off by doctor. Then the insurance chick waited 4 days to submit... which killed an additional week that Aetna could have been reviewing my file. First visit with TLC - March 9, 2009 Last visit in 90 day requirement - July 8, 2009 File submitted to Aetna - July 30, 2009 My last call to check status - August 6,2009 ( not approved yet) When I spoke to TLC and asked them how long it usually takes ... they told me that Aetna has up to 30 days to make a decision but they usually receive and answer within 2 weeks... so I hope sometime next week. I hope we all get approved soon....good luck and if anyone needs to rant or vent... I am here just send me a message. Everyone stay cool.... we will get there :scared2:
