  1. Don't be scared or nervous. Its easy and no complications for me. I was excited to have mine done and I would advice anyone to get it done. I came home the same day or shall i say that night. everything went great. the first night it the roughest cause i had problems when i layed down and then you try and get up it hurts . but other than that i did great of course with the pain medicine they give you it helps alot. good luck on your surgery and keep us posted.

  2. mamaromooo, your bariatric center should be able to contact your insurance company and see if they are going to pay for it and they can tell you that up front or they will call you back. Just depends on the insurance company and things. good luck.

  3. Hi were to start. Its the right place to start. Call your bariatric center and see how about you need to get started. If you have insurance they will take all your information and can tell you in a few days if your insurance will pay for it or not. Mine paid for all but about 1000.00 or less. thats not bad . It takes about 6 months of classes if your insurance requires that and most of them do. So take the dive and jump on in its nothing to worry about if you are as misserable as you say you are and depressed. we have all been there. hang in there and jump on the phone. and call.

  4. Hello, Night Coughing, Don't be afraid to take you some cough syrup , I had too. But make sure you get scot tussin dm liquid. or i took some childrens tylenol when i had mine but only take a 1tsp. since your stomach pouch is small. it will do the job or at least mine did. hope it helps.

  7. Hi, If you had surgery 6/18/09 then there are alot of things you can eat. you should be able to go to lapband.com and they have a schedule of what you can eat. you should be on a full liquid diet from day 4 to 18 . food like low fat cottage cheese, light yogurt, low fat cream soups or broth soups, cream of wheat cereal, tomatoe juice, v-8 juice, fruit juice but only 4oz a day. but thats some things for you and also sugar free popsicles, pudding low fat, gelatin sugar free. so good luck and i will be glad to help i have a folder with alot of information in it that my nutrition gave me. good luck. there are alot out there you can have also protein drinks.

  8. Congratulations on all your accomplishments and you will go far with this new life and its great that your husband is helping you too. 9. Glad to hear about your experience. I think all the time I over eat but I try to cut back all the time and I am still on the 2oz of meat 2tbs veg and 2tbs fruit. and then i have a popsicle to feel full. and I usually have a snack a couple hours later but i have never felt like you described and I guess i am okay. with mine. so keep on posting the comments and things and we all learn by them.

  10. Hello, I am so glad to here about your success cause i worry about mine. Its been 4weeks and lost a total of 18lbs. I was just wondering what the weight loss should be but i am proud to have lost what i have already. Congratulations on yours and keep up the good work. I am proud of all the bandsters out there cause i would have thought this would have been easier but its like being on a regular diet but with a smaller stomach and that is good for me. keep up the good work and stay on track.

  11. Hi, Yes you can do this and don't let it frustrate you , cause you can do this. For I don't know why you have to start a month out on your meal replacement , when all i had to do is 1 week of total meal replacements. I didn't think i could do this and i did and lost a total of 10lbs in a week. so just take one day at a time and you will get thru this. we all go thru hard times and I worry about wether or not if i have already stretched my band for to me i don't eat much , but at times i can tell i over eat what i should . i go for my first fill on the 25th , don't let any one tell you you don't have to work at this. i work at this all the time exercising making my meals and seeing if the weight is coming off like it should. I have a goal of loosing 20lbs this month and anything extra would be good. so hang in there and it will pass fast.

  12. hi, get my first fill on the 25th and hope i can tell a difference for most people i talk too says you can tell it and helps control your eating. I am starting to want to eat more and i hope i can get it under control but i am also pumping up my exercise i walk about 3 miles a day and swim about an half an hour and do some house work when needed and sometimes walk a small walk in the evenings. so hang in there and it will work out.

  13. Hey do ya'll not get a work up sheet to tell you what you can have , my doctor and nutrition gave me a worksheet book and tells for the first 3 days a clear liquid diet, consume of jello sugar free, popsicles sugar free, chicken or beef broth low sodium , 100% fruit juice only 4oz a day. i went to the gnc store and got a protein powder non flavored and mixed it in with my water and thats how i got my protein and only mix it half it calls for or it will be too strong. and for your vitamins check with your doctor , cause i believe no gummy vitamins due to getting stuck in the pouch . beneprotein is good protein supplement order it on line. i also take the celebrate chewable vitamins and calcium supplement don't for get it or you will be in trouble and make sure you drink your 64 oz of water a day.
