Hello, I started my journey on july 24,2008. Had to do my 6 months nutrition classes and see doctor for 6 months , but mine turned into 9 months due to holidays and ice storm and complications from and excisting surgery , had to get checked out but it was all worth it. I was very excited to get my surgery my mom and my nurse at the clinic mary said she never seen anybody excited about surgery like i was . well when you are my size 306 lbs. and on a 5'5" frame and been overweight all your life especially since i got married and things in my life changed. I dieted after diet after diet. and nothing happened so my husband and my doctor when i mentioned it said they believe its the best thing for me and i went for it. I was banded on may 19,2009. stayed in the hospital 1 day and went home that night. My first month I lost 10lbs and I am on my second month and have lost another 5lbs already so I have 5lbs to go by the july 24th.  So far so good. I worry alot about overeating and weather or not I am where i need to be. But if i can loose 10lbs a month i will be satisfied. I get frustrated alot cause i weigh every day and i know its not good but thats the way i keep in control of the scales and whether i need to step it up. I am so happy I have had my surgery and I advice anybody to have the surgery if you are 100lbs over weight. My sister tried to get the surgery but her insurance wouldn't pay for it, said she wasn't in bad enough health and not on any medication and she is about the same size i am. I am so blessed my insurance paid for most of mine . it was a prayer answered by god.  I prayed about it and said if its meant to be then let it if not shut the door. I am on my way to a newer me. I tell people not to wait if they are in the range of having the surgery. I still get tired and have to take a nap every day for about 2-3 hrs. but hopefully it will get better as the weight comes off. your friend vicky
