  1. No sadly...still no sleep....what is this....oh yeah day 7...AAAGGHHHH! I go to the Sleep Clinic tonight to get fitted for the hose. Maybe I will actually sleep tonight. No the dirty mind was Prophylatics....you know, condoms, rubbers.... I know it also means "preventative" but when i hear that i usually thing of preventing sperm...HA HA HA..of course i went total gutter on this...LOL It was just a juvenile moment;) oh p.s. cool website!!!
  2. Ugh......I misunderstood what you meant when you said it could be gallbladder pain..
  3. Hi --I was just wondering because I have a 16 yr old son (like you)(his name is Keith) and my youngest is 9 (Rachel) ...my oldest Jen is 18! I was thinking we were pregnant together all three times...lol. Twins huh? I wanted Rachel to be twins because of the age difference between her and the first two and the first two are ony 22 months apart. Now though, oh boy thank goodness she wasn't a twin!!!! Oh and to quote someone just hit the quote button on the bottom of the post window.
  4. I have thought alot about goals! My 9 yr old tells me i am getting "skinnier" because she can wrap her arms around my waist and touch past both wrists...lol. But the goals: -to be able to use a regular towel......oh and not to have to powder my thighs!!! -to get a tatoo -to get my belly pierced. -to go to Hawaii---and wear a bathing suit without a tent over me! -to wear kick ass "come hither" shoes again! -to wear a midriff. -to not sit in my van and feel like my butt is the armrest! -to wear boots---won't now---heels look like hooves to me. -to go out with total confidence -to do aerobics again-oddly i miss it -to dye my hair bimbo blonde just once to make my sister smile. -to wonder if the underwear in the laundry is mine or my daughters...lol. -to wear cool makeup. -to be able to tell hubby when he asks if i am wearing underwear---to say no and turn quickly and know he is checking it out!!! -to lose the chubby cheeks (on face lol) -to go back to a "b" cup and burn this "c"-cleavage from "fat" is highly overrated!!! OMG the list goes on and on.
  5. Bright Blessings to you and Erin!!! It takes a person with a strong heart to take care of children/people with special needs! I personally could never do it...I am not strong enough, I'd cry everyday! Hence the Psychology/Education/Special Education degree over the nursing degree I was contemplating! These boys are truly lucky to have you!!!!
  6. Cindy...omg you look great! Diane---I haven't been banded yet. tomorrow night i go for my fitting of my sleep apnea princess headress (ha ha gotta be silly or I'd go mad!) Then I get my sleep apnea number and then i can schedule surgery!!!! I am so excited I can hardly wait!! Yeah-Hubby gets laid off after every job...but usually they call him to the next one before he gets home from the one he got laid off from. Timing was bad this time---taxes due, bills, daughter blew a tire on the parkway and I had to buy her new tires...ugh never a dull moment
  7. Not to terrify you but........ Chest pain in the middle of your chest...hmmm better be safe than sorry. Last year I went to a Cardiac Specialist/Heart Surgeon.....checked out fine luckily...it was stress. However, heart disease is the leading cause of death among women......and the pain we get compared to the men...is right in the middle of our boobs!!! Doc says heart attacks can feel like heartburn. That is why so many women die, they pass it off as indigestion! (hmmmmm...gallbladder??? no, its not located in the middle of your chest...it is located under the right side of your liver...next to the stomach) Its prob just stress but check it anyway....mine was so bad, I'd start to faint while out in public.....now when it happens, i stop and think...what is it that bothers me...and tell myself its stress. Hasn't happened in a really long time!! Best Wishes to you!!! Oh...quick test, take a tums or rolaid...forgot to check to see if you are banded--if so take a liquid...if it goes away relatively fast, its stress. But please have it checked out anyway!!!!
  8. ha ha dirty mind over here...sorry ---> lack of sleep :devious
  9. If you don't mind my asking...how old is your oldest son?
  10. Cabinlass Elizabeth for my full name. Shortened it was: Mad Erin. or, Sealegs Lizzie for first, middle, and last name!!!!! LOL Arrrrr Ha Ha I am married to: The Dread Pirate Jo Bailey I have three kids: son---Captain Cash daughter ---Deadeye Mary daughter----Mad Erin Man, these name hit it right on the head for them too!!!!!
  11. The one thing I know to be true is that water is a must to keep your kidneys functioning properly! Ooops, I know two things...........it is imperative for good skin...15 years with a dermatologist taught me that... helps keep impurities from camping under your skin.
  12. Thanks for the link, looks like a good book. Going to the kitchen right now for Water...lol!:BeRightBack:
  13. I wish you all the best!! As someone who is going thru the process to get approved, I was wondering: Why specifically are they denying you? Are they saying you are too healthy?? Not heavy enough? I just called my insurance about a confirmation for the sleep apnea and the woman in the eligibility dept said she didn't know how i got approved!! (heart was stopping at that moment) it seems that they still had me listed as working for the electric company and having full benefits...funny cause I quit the elect co back in 2000 and got rid of my benefits with them in 1995!! So i was glad I called because that info may have stopped me from getting approved luckily i caught it before the doc has put in for the surgery!!
  14. Hmmm as soon as I am done Spanish II, I think I will get that book. Might as well, I am still not sleeping!!! Today I am gonna pop into Borders...they have a recipe/lifestyle book for LapBanders!!
  15. Is that really true? About the dehydration?? My GP told me overweight people cannot be dehydrated....something about Fluid in the fatty deposits.
  16. Hi Cathy, Sounds like you are getting jitters, and rightfully so, surgery is no laughing matter. Who is telling you lapbanding doesn't work most of the time??? They seem misinformed. Just read these posts........everyone is losing. (with the exception of the really rare) You may want to talk to your surgeon again. The lap bad does its job, its up to each person to make changes in thier habits to make it work for them. All the lapband does is makes a sort of holding cell for the food until it can go into the big stomach...it won't cut your cravings (i saw this on another post). Make sure you read thru more posts, there are some wonderful success stories out there!!
  17. Isn't it funny that we are all told different things by different doctors. That is why I like Lapbandtalk.com we get the other prespective! I totally agree with what you said about the carbonation stretching the pouch...I would think that it just slips thru the hole into our big stomach....and if carbonation did indeed stretch...what on earth would bread or beer or other yeast products do to us?? I shouldn't need colon cleansing after I am banded....but what I didn't know before the postings is that a lot of people did it pre-banding to eliminate gas.....I am all over that!!!!! My first c-section I had so much gas....omg I thought I was gonna die....of course my dad came to the hospital and made me laugh so much the gas built up i thought i was gonna blow around like a leaky balloon ---should I actually let it out. Which I can't do in front of others not even my hubby-although he has no problem with it...lol. Ha ha just the topic got me giggling now. Take care!
  18. Oh yay....they are a good source of protein and i was worried I was gonna OD on fish for protein!! LOL
  19. Omg...I love cashews....and ginger for that matter. Ginger works wonders on an upset tummy! (and Papaya too!) I am into the all natural stuff! Question....can you eat nuts once you have been banded??? (and healed of course) I just assumed that nuts would be on the "no-no" list after banding!!
  20. Wow how do you guys remember all the names and who is up to what?? Hmmm, Darcy you are just in a rut, you'll be okay. Diane, you were from Bergen Co.....LOL I said earlier that everyone but me from from there..lol. Someone's husband got laid off... or was it lost his job? Mine got laid off last month (union carpenter) and finally went back to work...ugh as a roofer...only getting 27 hrs due to all the rain! Unemployment would have been better than this! We have 3 kids, I don't work because I am in college full time and can't. Actually they just cut off my long distance on my phone because they couldn't wait till this weekend for a payment--Mind you I paid them $200 at the beginning of the week! Oh well, they are getting paid again tomorrow. A few of you are on Vacation....I will do that next year..taking Spanish over the summer so I am busy busy! My fav vacation spot is Hatteras NC, everyone is so friendly in NC!! My older sis is in NC as we speak..lucky. Oh and Cindy (I think) is having a Bandiversary!! Yeah I can't wait till I can say that!!! Congrats to you!! Hmmmm I know there are more people, but I can't remember what they are up to....So I will just say hello...I will remember everyone ..eventually
  21. Oh, yikes that is awful!! I am very fortunate to have insurance that covers it...hopefully they will cover me specifically...my sis tells me she doesn't see why not, Lasik surgery is covered by my insurance...so why wouldn't this....i sure hope she is right. (actually they have covered everything else so far--all the pre-op testing!!) Lots of people use Dr. Ortiz, sounds like you'd be in good hands with him! Best wishes!
  22. Vancouver huh...nope you def can't be the witch of the west...they were talking Kansas anyway....LOL. What girl doesn't have a "little witch in them" anyway....lol makes us more fun. I'll keep looking to see what kind you'd be...LOL Hey what is the name of that new book ---the one that tells the story behind the Wicked Witch of the West? Oh yeah its called "Wicked" ....Ha Ha just having a moment of insanity here (lack of sleep-newbie to apnea ---->scares me|!!) Take care
  23. I am not banded yet...live in NJ. Why are you going to Mexico?? Al Roker's doc is in NY! I have read on other threads that fills are expensive if done by another doc. Dr Onopnchenko is doing mine in Atlantic City. There are plenty of Doc's here in NJ also.
  24. Okee Dokee Dody thanks for the heads up....as a newbie here it looked like 3Loves was slamming Hootiebell for the same thing she was saying....seemed biased to me. I actually thought they were both being mean to you (I didn't see it until you pointed it out- I thought it was the colon cleanse room all over again...*snickering* ) I guess private jokes might be better sent privately so not to be misconstrewed. My aplogies to you and to 3Loves:hug: ......I hope you see where I was coming from! My bad:o .
