  1. That's awesome! Congrats!!
  2. I'm thinking that Gas-X strips wouldn't be a bad thing to have around the house b/c maybe with the smaller pouch we won't be able to tolerate regualr gas as well as before, but I'm definitely going to pick up a heating pad, get ready to walk, walk, walk and hope for the best!
  3. Maybe try half a banana, half the milk and half the protein powder next time? I guess b/c it's thicker it doesn't move as quickly thru the pouch and fills you up, which is a good thing!
  4. Keep in mind that your goal weight is not set in stone. If you set it on the higher side of normal and when you attain it you think you'd be better off if you lost more, then you can go for it. If you set it too low and can't quite get there, then you can stop when you are at a good healthy weight. I think it can be difficult sometimes to pick a "perfect" weight when you are so far away from it at the time. Good luck.
  5. So I'm all worried about the post op gas pain. I've seen a few people recommend Gas-X strips. I was thinking that they might not help at all. The gas isn't in your belly where the strip will end up, but under your skin. I can't imagine that the Gas-X travels systemically. Has anyone's surgeon advised them one way or the other about this??
  6. That's great! You've become a cheap date! Glad you enjoyed your first dinner out.
  7. Wow, bad timing indeed! But I believe with big things like this there is a reason for everything, and this little baby needs to be arriving sooner rather than later! Let us know what your Dr. says about the payment and cancelling of surgery and such. Congrats!
  8. thanks! I missed that somehow.
  9. bayougirl, I'm being banded on the 11th, so we're close.
  10. Thanks for that info Elgrad. My banding is 2 weeks tomorrow (eek!) so I'm interested as well!
  11. I have to look thru my paperwork again and see what they specifically recommended. I know there were a few different ones or they said you could take something like Bariatric Fusion which is a chewable that as everything in one. But there are a couple of those "all in ones", so I'll have to look into them more.
  12. Do a search for low carb recipes. There are some good meals out there that may help you feel less deprived.
  13. They just wanted to make really, really sure! :cursing: What's an EGD?
  14. ....do you take post banding?
  15. Thanks! WHat's an EKG like??
  16. I'm not a fan of Atkins either and that's what I have to do for my pre op also. I think it's better than the liquid diet tht a lot of peopl have to do...
  17. What exactly doe preadmission testing entail?? They just called me to set mine up for next week and when I asked I got a vague answer. I just want to be prepared. You know, clean underwear and all. :wink2:
  18. So are we going to have a cute name for our little November group? :wink2:
  19. I tried it and didn't have problems with it but no real success either. It curbed my appetite a bit, but not nearly enough to truly be successful. I looked at the Phentermine forums and some people say that they don't even feel like eating when they are on this, but that was not my experience.
  20. Does your Dr's "full liquid" include smooth Soups and such? There are some good Soup recipes in the recipe section on here that aren't sweet and may make you a little happier in the food dept. Oh yeah, and I'm worried the about the gas pain too, moreso than even the wound healing!
  21. Does anyone know how these 2 chewable vitamins compare? Which is a better choice etc?
  22. Glad to hear you are doing well! When do you get to move to full liquid? Hopefully that will give you some more energy then.
  23. I'm not in your shoes yet but will be soon. You're on clear liquids? How long until you get to full liquids? If you are absolutely going to cheat, I'd try the least "dangerous" way possible. Maybe choose something from your full liquid list. A protein shake would be a lot better choice than a waffle for both safety and satiety.
  24. good for you!!
