Shrinking Violets -- April 07 Bandsters
Hello all......... well today is a true test of my willpower.... today I realized just how much I have self medicated with food. I am currently locked into my room away from everyone right now because I can't take the smell of the bbq kfc that everyone is gorging on. I am stressed... we rudely found out this morning that somewhere between our house and the street.. we've got a leak, a backup, a whatever in our main sewer line. DBF is stressed I'm stressed the boys are fighting and I went a little off the deep end over there continued fighting....... I blew my fuse, so then dbf and I got into it and he went out and bought lunch for everyone..... the smell of the food, the stress, the boys banging on the door wanting me settle issues.......... I wanted so bad to just say screw it and eat........... but I didn't, I am instead in my room seeking solace in this board........ reminding myself why I'm here, trying to calm my nerves without food....... it is so hard.. I am right next to tears...... but I am strong, and I will survive...... now about fixing the water line........ tomorrow... dealing with the city and possible permits hoping like hell that dbf can fix it without the extreme high cost of a plumber..... and hoping the Home Depot card has enough room left on it for this latest joy of homeownship issue.

Two Years Banded
thanks for posting... it is very encouraging to us preemies!
-
long term bands
Yes, it has been stated many times on these boards that the long term banders are off living their lives because food and losing weight is no longer at the forefront of their minds.... people often come back when an issue arises but complications are less than 3%. Congrats on your band!
-
Do you miss food?
For the record, my doc gives back the diet pop after 1 month and the only time I have to go without CAFFIENATED coffee is during the clear liquid stage........ but I started my pre op early and I haven't had even ONE taste of my fav.... diet dr. pepper and I'm fine!
-
People with slipped band
What she said.... and is also the reason why you are to be on soft foods the first 6 weeks and why all the docs say that the first 6 weeks are for HEALING.. you are letting scar tissue mold your band into place.... A lot of complications come out on boards like this because it is someone seeking advice or info, which is why it SEEMs like more than 3%. Adhere to the banster rules and go on with life...... if complications happen deal with it then.

Like others.. what your feeling is completey normal!!! It took me a long time to get here emotionaly because I fought it... I thought.. I SHOULD be able to do this on my own, but alas.. I now know that the band will be my TOOL, MY BACKUP to the part of my head that "knows better" when I make bad choices.... (like eating an entire pizza) Go check out a Thread called Bandversary by BOO... there are a lot of bandsters that are a year out and have posted their reflections.......... it has helped me immensley. Hello everyone......... Jullee.. I did the same thing as you today, I went through my closet and arranged one batch of jeans into the order I should be able to get them on... I will be so excited to wear some of my old clothes.. this may sound funny but I can actually feel my stomach getting smaller especially when I'm laying down, and the nice thing is... I'm not swelling up like I was last week...... We colored easter eggs today... the kitchen is a mess, but fun was had by all! Have a great evening (and Good Night to Sara!)

APRIL Bandits' Exercise Challenge!
I believe it is open to anyone!!!!!!! :girl_hug: I posted on the April 07 thread that my son learned to ride his bike without training wheels today... it was cold, but he did soooo good.. I even found my self RUNNING down the street with him........ (yes.. you read that right Tracy from Kansas was actually RUNNING) It wasn't for very long.... but we had two separate sessions of bike riding today and both times the little buggar just kept peddling so I had to keep chasing him down.... (total time outside was about 2 hours) IT WAS A WONDERFUL FEELING! ohhhh and I'm counting it

I am happy to report that I LOVE the GRAPE FROST ISOPURE protein water I am finishing off my first bottle right now. To me it tastes a bit like grape frost gatorade, but this puppy has 40 grams of protein and 55 grams of calcium. It is really tart, and I like that. I hope the rest of the flavors sit as well with me. If you don't like tart drinks you would not like this. I have not been hungry yet today, and I'm just going with it.. this has been my first protein of the day.

Shrinking Violets -- April 07 Bandsters
GOOD MORNING ALL!!!! It is 27 degrees outside and me and the boys just returned indoors, the 10 year old taught my 3.5 year old to ride his bike without training wheels! We had so much fun, even though it was cold... HE did awesome... they were getting cooped up being inside and the fighting had already started so I told them to take it outside.. we all ended up out there teaching Robby, who DID GREAT! We are now inside... Dad is on call and is gone right now.. so its just drill seargent Tracy at the command! LOL Terri that is WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shrinking Violets -- April 07 Bandsters
OH.. and I wanted to add.. I bought the Walmart knock off version of the magic bullet for $9.97, and broke it on the second use... got so ticked I just threw it in the trash.. I should of taken it back but I had already thrown away the box... and Panda it was the ice that did it! Christy: I don't know what I would of done had I been in your hubbys place on that airline! Lunasa: Don't get down about your travel woes.... you are on your way to sitting cross legged indian style in those seats! I know I'm missing some newly banded/scheduled people, I will check in tomorrow and get everyone added. I'm was also glad to get the reports of Cred and others banded today. Terri: thanks for posting about those breathing exercises.. Remind me in 21 days! OK Sara: I love Cadbury Eggs..... but I think that movie Happy Feet is PERFECT for your Easter present OHHHHHHH and the Isopure was delivered today........ OH LORD I'm afraid to try it now, and I have 24 BOTTLES of the stuff! LOL Laura: the expresso ideas sounds yummy........ I would mention a GREAT BASE to use (if your stores still carry it) is the HOOD Calorie Countdown Dair beverage ... used to be called Carb Countdown, but they changed it to go along with all that 100 calorie packaging people are doing... For me I can NOT tolerate Soy.. YUCK...... if you are lucky enough to find it, buy a carton and try your Protein in them.

Hello everyone... I'm checking in after a nice day off... we have dbfs kids now... so what that means ALL FOUR of the boys are home (5) including dbf.......... the three older ones were really curious as to why I wasn't eating the same thing for dinner as them and they wanted to know WHY they couldn't drink my LC shakes or eat my SF popsicles! LOL I really didn't want the 3 older boys knowing I was having weight loss surgery because it will go right home to their mother and their ENTIRE town... (small town, very gossipy, very nosey) I didn't feel like being the Sunday gossip. They do know I'm on a diet, and already asked their mom if I could have her old bike.... LOL... I love those boys! They mean well.... and their mom and her new husband, dbf and I all get along and even sit together at games and programs... (its the whole united front thing) anyway dbf used to be the fire chief before they divorced... soooo you can imagine how the tongues started wagging when I entered the picture.... Blended Families... ohhhh I could tell ya some stories! LOL I did have a half can of green Beans tonight with my tuna. Thursday I have to go full fledge liquid per my doc.... OH and the other thing I have given up is my Diet Dr. Pepper........... I have not even tasted it once this entire week....... (it really IS amazing what my willpower can do, once motivated) and I have to tell you all... I would not be this strong had I not found LBT...... sometimes I come here when my stomach is turning over from being hungry... I read about others in the same situation or go browse the pics and I know that I am on the right path. THANK YOU.

Not worried about it.... the key to getting yourself into Ketosis and staying there for a while is drinking WATER......FLUSHING all the waste from my kidneys, thereby allowing the liver to do its job. I'm getting plently of liquid protein, about 10-15 carbs a day with 6 grams of fiber and over 64 oz's of water...... I have PCOS and a HYPOthyroid, so doing low carb is a must for me for life regardless of having a band installed..... I learned this long ago... my big problem is quantity eating and then going off into what I call carb hell.... (BUT THIS IS ME, not preaching...... everyone has their own path to chose) OK..my son is bouncing off the walls wanting my undivided attention... I'll check in later!

I need honest feedback please but be nice..

Jullee: Don't forget the SF popsicles and SF Jello! You above list looks about like what I've been eating all week, except for the Atkins shakes.. I tried them about 5 years ago, and didn't like them, plus the EAS are cheaper at my walmart.
