  1. hi everyone... long time no check in. **sighs** bubs is now 5 mts old and an absolute treasure!!! as for my weight... PFFFTTTTTT i was breast feeding for a few months but it wasnt enough. she was crying all the time as she was hungry... the very first night she got a bottle she slept all night.... and i got the first good night sleep in 2 months. the thing is while i was pregnant i was being told to eat a bit more which i have apparently become accustom to and now am totally struggling with. i lost weight for the first 2 weeks after my baby was born and have been mostly gaining since. its not a lot of weight but more than enough to stress the hell out of me and start the whole weight tug of war again. its like my body is use to the sleeve and the intake and now without the demands of a baby, on goes the weight! i found while i was breast feeding and awake wayyyy more than i should of been, i was actively seeking sweeter foods which i found weird after not wanting any sweets during pregnancy???? i have to try and get back to what i was doing early sleeve. 16 months post op and my weight is like a crash with me in it!!! so upset with myself for not being able to control what the hell is going on. after all this time it seems i am still battleing fat demonds!!! do the ever go away??? what makes us slowly revert back even tho we have come so far. it seems i mentally may be a fat person all my life. **sighs** even sadder is i have come so far losing over 130 pounds (60kg) but still am nowhere near my goal weight!! yes my weight loss was excelent through my pregnancy after sleeve and yes i am battleing now from pregnancy issues.... and self control issues.i wonder if having to eat more durring pregnancy has ruined me now or this was just the normal cource of the sleeve maybe/hopefully its just a platto and all will start up again.... who knows!!! till soon Ange.
  2. if i were you i would be on birth control quick smart.... <grins> i found out i was 6 weeks pregnant after only having had the surgury 2 months. my doc said he wasnt suprised as we are eating the correct amount and have dropped weight and exercising well.... why wouldnt we fall pregnant!!! so im not really up on types but i would seriously look into it if you want to wait.... ( i went 8 years without being 'carful' and had to track to get pregnant the first time, then this second time was a drop of a hat without looking into it!!! )
  3. Hi Butrcupz i was just over 330 Lbs when i had my first baby. im now down almost 60 Kg (132Lbs) and aiming to lose **half** of my body weight. since having the surgury in August 09 and having the sleeve i fell pregnant 2 months later and gave birth all before my first year sergivarsary! i continued to loose weight in the first half of my pregnancy and hang steady in the second half, all the while gaining baby bump and loosing weight to be able to *not gain* My first baby was the reason i had the surgury so i could keep up to her and not let her down....WOW what an excelent choice!! even with the second pregnancy so close to surgury i feel better than i have in years and can tell you confidently that the weight is still comming off!!! all my friends cant beleive how well i look after giving birth (expecting that most gain a few Lbs right!!!) back to your question...sorry started at 151kg (332Lbs) and was down to 112kg (246Lbs)when i found out i was 6 weeks pregnant (which wasnt planned but welcome) my highest weight was with my first baby in october 2008 where i was following the elivit ovulation chart to fall. it took about 6 months to fall pregnant. with baby number to we werent even trying and i was totally shocked to find out i was capable of carrying a baby after such a radical change to my bodies intake of food and water!!! the day after i had Chelsea i weighed in at 94 Kg (207Lbs)so i managed to lose 18Kg(40Lbs) in pregnancy and another 4Kg(9Lbs) in the 2 weeks following. Hope this can help you and set your mind at ease! babies arnt out of the question for those of us who were delt a generous set of curves. till soon Ange :thumbup1:
  4. thankyou for the congrats. i forgot to mention that i also managed to lose about 18kg in pregnancy with the sleeve and my first surgivarsary is comming up in August (10th) 58kgs and countingggggg. I feel very lucky and greatful that everything has turned out so well within such a short time after the sleeve! (not to mention being a hell of a lot smaller from pre- pregnancy weight) till soon! Ange
  5. ITS A GIRLLLLLLLLLLL A beautiful bouncing baby girl!!! shes perfect in every way. born 12 July 11.12 am emergency c-section (head wasnt decending as she was stuck on my previous c-section scare and neally exited stage left through my wall!!!!) anywho..... moving right along..... 9Lb 3oz and healthy as can be. 10 out of 10 for both apgar tests with "the most beautiful pink colour we have seen in AGESSSSSS" many comments on her beautiful healthy colour from the staff involved in the surgury!
  6. I think the biggest hurdle for me at this stage is Hydration. I do wonder how im going to be able to nurse!!! as far as my pregnancy is concerned, its been a walk in the park against my first where i was layed up sick in pain with gestational diabeties and then ending up needing a c section!!! weight loss surgury has helped my over all wellbeing during this pregnancy. my watch outs were as i mentioned before hydration. this is a constant battle to keep fluids to up to myself and bub. the second issue was low blood sugar levels. i was actually told to keep eating, changing the priority from Protein to carb over the day with more frequent imput. Other than that everything has been really smooth sailing. yes i did feel sick and a bit chucky with some foods but hey lol we all know THAT HAPPENS <grins> tired every now and then....yep..thats one of the joys too right!!! i guess what im saying is that so far, so good. if i had to choose which pregnancy i would prefer to have again from my first or second, i would take the second without hesitation. its been a breeze. i have had a few more docs visits, Vitamins and blood tests this time around but all with good outcomes thus far. its been a walk in the park with less weight on board, not to mention my very happy weight loss that the docs are also 'watching'. my baby is healthy so far and is looking at around a 7 1/2 lb bouncing birth weight <smiles> It can be done without too many hickups after surgury, hope this gives you a little insite as a "case study" thankyou for your congrats and if there is anything you want to ask feel free to drop me a mes.
  7. Hi folks!!! been awhile. well im happy to report that i am now 33.1/2 weeks and doing well. i havent been on for awhile as i been getting a bit tired at night and just havent managed to get in here and have an update! A few weeks ago I was put through the gestational diabeties training because the docs were unable to get an accurate reading with the glucose challenge test. (it was wayyyyy too much sugar so i lost both attempts) the docs wanted me to track my blood sugar levels just incase so it just made sence to get me in the programe. well it turned out that in all the testing i have come up with some low readings with a few hints of hypoglycima. After seeing some specialists at our big mothers hospital, i was quickly reasured that the low readings i was getting were pretty normal and expected. most women experience some low readings at times. well i have to admit that i was told to start eating more, and as my low readings were comming in i was actually eating more, (feeling sick from eating all the extra morning/afternoon teas all over the place) but it was doable. i just had to keep my carb intake up.... OH and NOT give up the coffee milk!!! (go figure!!! been trying to kick that one for ages!) I was a bit scared to tell you the truth, but i was reasured that the baby will take what it needs, i just have to worry about looking after myself. it turns out that the docs were just making sure they were not missing anything by putting me in the progie. I am told i should have a normal 8Lbs baby this time (first baby was 9 14 so i was very happy hearing THAT) and that i am doing very well. I feel better than i have in years even at this later stage of pregnancy. im still up and down the stairs with no major issues and have only just last week stopped my exercise class, doctors orders. Its amazing how physically better off i have been this time around in comparision to the last pregnancy. im doing soooo much more this time around and copeing 500% better with movement and life in general. its nice to still have a spring in my step when i go into the maternity clinic and hardly even look pregnant against some of the girls that have that HUGE bump and gummy leg/hip. my weight has been up and down a little like 1 lbs up 1 down.....1 up....... 2lbs down.... so overall i have still lost weight, even managing to crack the 50Kg for those of you who follow the Kg measurements <grins> ohhhh 1 excelent thing to mention, i have had NO itchiness of the skin. i have been shrinking and growning at the same time which also means no 'extra' stretch marks lolol happy days. some of my skinny friends have got 1 inch wide streachies from child bearing and im truely happy to report this isnt the case for those of us with/previously had, a generous beam. till soon everyone. Ange.
  8. lol at least i was home when it happened to me...lol.... was carting my baby around the house and went bright red i cant even imagin being on the street!!! for that you really DO deserve a new pair of jeans!!! well done chick!!! funny with bub on the way im slowly growing back into them, but you know the jeans deal...as the day goes on the jeans tend to loosen!!! gotta watch that one too lololol faulse sense of security when you put the suckers on at the begining of the day!!
  9. Hi girls! i soo wish you all the very best in your baby ventures. it makes me realise how lucky/blessed i have been. quick overview first baby 32 at over 330lbs about 8 mts to conceive second baby 34 230 odd lbs wasnt even trying. the weight loss surgury only encouraged my body as i was pregnant within 2 mts of surgury!!!!!!! i am now 26 weeks pregnant and still lossing weight, even though it has slowed down dramatically its still comming off. since finding out i was pregnant im down about 24lbs (so 20 weeks 24lbs) I would totally have to agree with the comments about if the time is right....the time is right!!! your body will kick in when its ready. god only knows that mine did!!! in conclusion girls, think positive and imbrace all the baby vibes at the shops when you see pregnant bellies go past. find the botton in heart that says im ready, close your eyes, take a deep breath and exhale! you guys have already done so much hard work no matter what stage of the game your at! i think if we can all continue to eat well there is no reason why we cant have the weight loss and Bito (bun in the oven) at the same time. good vibes from my growing belly girls. Ange and Bito.
  10. Let the count down begin all you April ppl. the sleeve is such a great choice. I'm 7 months post op, 6 months pregnant and totally happy with the decision. It is a tuff road but a winning road. (ohhh and the tuffness only lasts a very very short time till you adjust, sayyyy 2 months odd is fair) <grins> It will be the best choice you have made for youself in your whole lifetime! congrats to you for choosing to take control cheers Ange
  11. almost 22 weeks and had a scan that shows everything is very very normal... all the measurements and functions were spot on average/**normal** got to love that! i am told however that i i wont know if i got a big baby till im much further along. i know i got a comedian baby tho.... ***baby says*** i want choc...... (only twice now) but i cant tolerate choc!!!! i eat it anyway and.... rot roe!!!! lol problems!! i havent worked out weather the tolerance level for fryed food/smells is from the baby or from the surgury!!! hope its the surgury tho. i have trouble going into a any space where there is fryed food cooking???? (one way to cure the old kfc habbit) again... very happy for that! it seems that there are many things that i have gone off since the surgury/pregnancy. most of them are positive dislikes. hell i have even started a few new habbits that i know are way better for me...and bub, not to mention my daughter! so.... many positives still comming. still craving some sweet naughty stuff... but...if i dont cook it, i cant eat it. moral of the story is dont cook it!!!! hmmm write that down angie!! cheers ange.
  12. thankyou for all your well wishes people, ohh and due date is 6 July!! It seems that all the books i have read say that most sickness starts to clear up around 12 weeks soooo now at 13 weeks, i only get the odd sick feeling so i can conclude that the sickness was just one of those pregnancy deals that happens with or without WLS. YAYYYYY I have been having trouble exercising.... (and have stopped same as last pregnancy tho... another 12 week symptom, being tired) as i feel theres just not enough energy to go around but have still dropped 10kg since actually falling pregnant so happy days are still here. Hi Marci My baby is 14 months old I and thank god i had this surgury beforehand. there is NO WAY UNDER THE SUN i could keep up with my baby, and feeling all the general associated pregnancy hick ups at the weight i was before!! there is no way i could be keeping up with baby. I am hoping that by the end of this pregnancy i am still way more mobile than i was with the first, as i was able to sit and lounge around and relax at will. this time i dont have that luxury. i have dropped 100 odd pounds since my highest weight and think i am better equiped to not only keep up with my daughter but also avoid some of the joint pain i suffered last time around!! (fingers crossed and time will tell) I think the hardest thing for me so far is going to such extreme to lose weight and just getting my head around getting smaller, enjoying losing weight and considering the concept of maybe buying some smaller clothes to now having to wait/ put on hold that dream. my boobies are already getting bigger and filling out and my 'new' belly shape is also changing. At first i was totally devistated that i was going to be getting fat again, but now i just think hey...what the hell, im gonna lose weight, therefore not get anymore stretch marks. ha!!! lose weight gain baby at same time. ***laughs*** sounds greatttttt in theory... hey deedee I hope everything sorts itself out for you!!! wow! any plans in near future now that you are almost at your goal?? I also wonder about this baby and its size at birth.... it was an unanswered question that was going around my head. my girl was born 9Lbs 14oz so it will be interesting to find out on the day if my habbits have had any impact on birth weight. dont they say that babies get heavier with each pregnancy?? (that maybe for mythbusters) ohhh well the experiment beakers are out and time will tell!! lol cheers till soon Ange
  13. isnt it fun making steps towards reclaiming your life ***grins and sighs*** good luck chick.... and congrats to you for making such a positive life changing decision :-)
  14. Hey girls! 11 weeks 1 day and i **think** the fog is lifting. i havent upchucked in 4 days woo hoo!!! still feel off!!! going for blood test/nucal test over the next few days. fingers crossed! ohhh and have dropped the choc thing too (thank goodness) as im feeling better the food is starting to feel a bit better in my stomach, but toasted cheese is still order of the day!!! doc told me i was eating too much ***scratches head*** so i cut it down again and i think thats what saving me the greif.... go figure!!!!! till soon ange.
