  1. Start.............Current...............Goal..............Lbs to go soon2bskinny....188.8..........176.........160.........16 It's been a good week!! I do so much better when I stay on track. You would think I would realize that and just do it!! I've been eating fruit between meals and drinking at least a gallon of water a day and that seems to really be taking it off for me.
  2. I have been an extremely slow loser from day 1. I had surgery on July 31, 2010 and have only recently reached my halfway mark. It sucks, but everyone assures me it will come off in my own time. It is still frustrating when I see people losing so much weight so fast. I have finally started to calm down since i have reached the halfway point. Your weight will come off too. I do believe stress and other factors play a part. I still gain 3-4 pounds the week of my period. I know its going to happen, but it still makes me crazy. Just keep on keeping on and you will get there. Good luck!

  6. I'm getting in on this one. I've been eating junk and im ready to get serious. My goal is ambitious, but I can do it. 188.8........188.8...........160.
  7. I had my surgery in Piedras Negras with Dr Alvarez. My husband went with me and was able to safely venture out. Usually he went with a guide named Jessica who was wonderful. I chose Dr Alvarez for his experience. It just could not be matched here in the states. I would do it again. I felt totally safe.
  8. Im a physician assistant and I used to work with a plastic surgeon. We operated on a lot of massive weight loss patients and everything works out better and looks better if your weight is stable for at least a year. Your body will keep changing for awhile even after you have lost all of your weight. Good luck!
  9. Dr Alvarez in Piedras Negras. Great surgeon, great staff and I have had no complications. Www.endobariatric.com. Message me if you have any questions.
  10. I understand your frustration completely. I had my surgery on July 31st and I've only lost 35 pounds. I really wanted to be down 50 pounds by the end of the year. I've decided that I need to go back to shakes to better track exactly how much protein/calories I am taking in. (even though I was so tired of them by the end of the post op liquid diet.) We'll see if that kick starts things. I sure hope so. Best of luck to you!
  11. What is everyone's favorite protein bar/food brand and what are your favorite flavors? My weight loss has been very slow to date, so I'm going back to shakes and supplements for 2 meals a day to see if that gets things going better. I've only lost 36 pounds in going on 5 months. Thanks for your help.
  12. I had my sleeve July 31 and I know I don't need to get pregnant for at least a year, but I want to start trying as soon as my weight is stable. One of the reasons I had this done was because of infertility. Should I go back on birth control for a year? That would be most convenient, but I don't want to jepordize my fertility! Any Thoughts?
  13. I had my sleeve done on July 31 and I'm happy to report I have lost 9 pounds today! I too, am not even hungry. I can't believe it. I have been back at work for 2 days now and I'm tolerating that well.
  14. I'm on my preop diet and I love the muscle milk light vanilla mixed with vanilla soy milk. I added sf choc syrup this morning. Very good. I have no idea what my tastebuds will do postop, but its good for now. I also like the vitamin world protein shots-49 g protein in 3 oz. Fruit punch and sour apple.
  15. I am having surgery on July 31 with Dr. Alvarez in Piedras Negras. I haven't told my boss anything about it. I'm struggling with 2 options-not telling him anything or telling him the whole story. He is a general surgeon and I'm sure he will have a problem with me going to Mexico for surgery. I've also thought about just telling him I was flying to Texas for it....not a lie. My only problem with not telling him anything is that I would need more time off when I get home. How many days did everyone need off from work postop? Any advice is appreciated.
