singand_dance got a reaction from qnz234 in Post op FIRST time pregnancies
At 2 years post-op, I went off the pill and had 1 period, then was pregnant. I gained significantly since surgery and never actually got to goal, but being pregnant I feel like I finally have good restriction!

Hey old friends!
I also regained too much weight. I had the sleeve 3 years ago and never got to goal weight. I did find the sleeve was really working for me while I was pregnant though. Something about the hormones- I finally had decent restriction! My daughter is 2 weeks old and I only gained 3.5 lbs in my pregnancy. I'm just hoping I can keep some momentum and actually get back to losing once I'm fully recovered!

singand_dance got a reaction from gamergirl in Addicted to Sugar?
Thank you for posting this!!
I'm a relapsed sugar addict. For me, 1 bite is too many and 100 is never enough. Sugar is such a hard addition to conquer, and so many people don't understand it was an addition.

-Chicken- (not spicy, just tasty!)
3-4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 jar salsa verde (any size)
dash of season salt
dash of tapatillo (or any hot sauce)
Cook on low for 8-10 hours or high 4 hours. I've cooked it using frozen chicken for 8 hrs on high. Once cooked, remove the chicken and shred with a fork. I usually add about 1 cup of the salsa juice from the crock back in to the chicken. It keeps it moist even when reheating.
* I've also used green enchilada sauce instead of the salsa. Works good too!

singand_dance got a reaction from strawberryblue in "Fad Surgery"
My grandfather had a partial gastrectomy in the 1950's to resolve his ulcers. He had about 80% of his stomach removed, and lived 45+ years without complication.

singand_dance got a reaction from gettingpissed in What is up with therapist
I had this same problem when I was considering the ba.nd. The doc/nurses at the first hospital I started at advised against a support group with lots of people who struggle. They said something about only talking/hanging around people who are successful. I also know that they would read the message boards and discuss all our posts (There was a patient generated, hospital specific thread and the staff read it daily). Perhaps your doc is afraid of you getting bad advise or being pulled down by people who aren't successful? Or that you'll learn how to "cheat".
