  1. That's a BIG thing. Congratulations!!!

I'm so glad the gym is working out for you! I am back to a more normal exercise routine and really am happy to be doing it. I love your plan to continue your gym membership:-) And of course I have to mention how jealous I am that you are already out of school...we go this year until June 24.
  3. My husband was very much against the idea of me going to Mexico, but supportive of me having wls. In the end, we worked out a compromise that made us both happy...I'm hoping you will be able to as well. I wish you luck through your journey!
  4. I wouldn't think you have to tell the instructor (is this a trainer or class instructor?) what type of surgery, but I'd probably want to mention that I had abdominal surgery 6 weeks ago. I wish you luck on your new program...good luck with it!

CONGRATULATIONS!!! I know I NEVER thought I'd get to my goal so easily...let alone below. It is such a great feeling. I'm so happy for you and your size 4 self:-)

    That's great news!
  7. I've done it in the past and had a really good time and actually worked up a sweat in the water. I tried it again about a month after getting the sleeve and was super excited about doing it again only to discover a lot of people didn't take it seriously and talked throughout the entire class. Some had their backs to the instructor and it was very crowded so if they weren't paying attention and did the wrong movement it kind of was hard to do it yourself. I'd say try it and if the class is good, it's a great way to exercise without the stresses to your body that land exercise has. Good luck and let us know how you like it!
  8. Good for you! You'll find that exercise does get easier the more you do it. Good luck making it a habit, I really feel it makes a huge difference in my energy level and overall health.
  9. Congratulations! I wish you continued success!!!
  10. What wonderful news and you look great! I can sometimes kick myself for not throwing things out too and then eating way too much of it, but the great thing about this tool is it's still there for us:-) Good luck with the rest of month three.
  11. Congratulations Rob on the excellent loss! It sounds like you're doing everything correctly and I know my nutritionist was okay with children's vitamins for a while (didn't really like it, but was okay with it). Good luck for continued success!
  12. It makes me so happy to read this. You deserve all of this happiness and more!!!
  13. Congratulations Carol! And thanks for the tip about Zantac. I've been off of mine for about a month (forgot to take for a few days and felt fine so just stopped all together) except for this past weekend when I felt really bad heartburn one day and took it in the evening for some relief.
  14. I asked the nurse at the hospital at my pre-op appointment about this because my periods were so irregular before surgery, she said it didn't matter for the surgery...but I think it would have been a pain to have to deal with the first couple of days post-op?? BUT I don't really know what a non-crampy, non-bloated period feels like, maybe it's not too bad. Can you change around your pills or automatically start the next pack to hold it off for a while?

Today when I walked into work my assistant principal said she had something she had to show me. I walked in wondering what it could be and she had these two pictures on her computer from last June at a teacher's retirement party. It was a shocker to me because this was from my heaviest (241) and I had no pictures from this time. I'll try to post them here. There really is a big difference.
  16. Congratulations, your next food phase will be here before you know it!

Well, today I started back to my exercise routine (after the long hiatus I took when my emotions were so out of sorts). IT KICKED MY BUTT!!! After about the third song, it was difficult to breathe, but I kept pushing through and I felt my body get used to it about half way into class. I almost dropped down to my 5 lb weights, but stuck with the 8 lbs. and I made it through. I couldn't quite keep up with the ab routines, but I did my best. Overall, I'm pleased with how easy it was to get back in the swing of an aerobic workout. I know before the weight loss, if I ever went a month or more of working out, it was so difficult to get back...I basically had to begin at the very beginning. Today I realized that my body is strong and understand that although there might be other times in life I have to take exercise breaks, it's really important for both my physical and mental health to exercise.
  21. I'm glad you did post. Just remember that we continue learning throughout this entire journey. Good luck with it all!

Good for you Amanda! That's a great deal they're offering. I've taken a 6 week break from my exercise routine and plan to start back again on Saturday. I know I'll be so sore, but it's worth it.
  24. I eat at Subway probably 3 times per week for lunch. I rotate between a spinach salad and 6" steak and cheese or chicken breast (I take off the top bread). With the salad I have chicken added and eat about 2/3 now. I can usually eat about 1/2 the sandwich at a time and I wrap the other half for a late afternoon snack/dinner. I eat out for dinner 3-5 times per week and find soup or salad is usually a good choice for me. If I order a chicken, steak, or seafood meal, I can use it for leftovers the next couple of days, so if you're staying in a hotel with a refrigerator in the room, you'd have breakfast and lunch covered the next day??
