Houston we have a problem...can u help?
Congrats!! I can't give you any advise regarding a doctor for a tummy tuck because I am nowhere near that, however, do you care to offer some advise how you lost 120 lbs. I was banded 6/08 and have only lost 50 lbs.

Should I do lapband or should I not???????????
Being banded is not bad. As everyone knows, its just an agent. I have lost a total of about 40 lbs. What I have found to work best for me is not eating and drinking at the same time. I normally wait 45 mins after a meal to drink. I also eat from a saucer to control the amount of food that I take in. Your body will tell you when you are full. The one good thing about it is that I am losing slow so it looks natural. Good Luck to you

Banded July 30th - how long do you wear the surgi-strips?
The information provided by Malisafos is absolutely correct. I was told the same thing from my doctor. By the time I went to see him two weeks after the surgery, most of the strips had fallen off.

the pain is horrible
I am a punk when it comes to pain. I was feeling the same as you if not worse. I kept calling the doctor asking him if I was suppose to be feeling like this. He said that everyone's tolerance level is different. It took about a week before the pain really eased up. Just know that it will get better. Best of luck to you!! Congrats on your journey

Nothing tastes as good as thin feels
Congrats on your accomplishments Dont say "what's with all the questions, but??? What was your exercise regiment and what proteins did you eat most? What was your highest weight? When were you banded?

please help!!!!
I had the same thing happen to me and was thinking that I had totally made a wrong choice to be banded. But it is life changing. I had the upper GI test done also and it was determined that I was not properly chewing my food. Once I learned to thoroughly chew my food I was okay and it was a struggle because I was not use to that. You have to chew at least 25-30 times before swallowing. Let me know how it goes.

Are administrative fees a norm?
My doctor didnt charge any additional fees. The only out of pocket expense I incurred was the $100 deductible for being hospitalized.

Disapoitment
Hi, Rosa0120 I was where you are right now. Don't let this get you down? Just take it one day at a time. Some some simple things to see if it helps: - don't eat or drink 1/2 hour before or after meals - eat from a saucer - try to get 15-20 minutes of exercise daily I questioned if I made the wrong decision with getting the surgery. But then I had to remember that the "Band" is not the magic tool to losing weight, just an assistant agent. These are some of the changes I made that assisted with my weight loss. I was banded in June '08 and I had a steady weight loss after the changes. Stay positive and everything will work out!! Fitfalife91

New job... new clothes...
Hi, KEtlinger Glad to hear that you are making great strides. Just have a few questions, since I have been struggling lately. When were you banded? How much weight have you lost? How many pounds did you lose on an average monthly? And last but not least, how much exercise played a part in your success??? fitfalife91

Can someone help me?
julie.ann You indicated that you have dropped 90 lbs. When did you get banded and what is the average monthly weight loss? fitfalife91

Angry at the Band or the Doctor??
Hi, Bio - when I read your comments I felt like dejavu. I felt exactly the same way you are feeling. As Cheryl said, this is not the magic tool. Do me a favor? When you eat out, when your food is brought to the table, automatically ask for a doggie bag and remove 1/2 your food. You can drink before you eat, but once you start eating, wait 1/2 hour after eating before you drink again. Those were two adjustments I had to make that assisted with my weight lost. I got my surgery in June, 08 and I have lost a total of about 40 lbs. When I hear other people talk about 75-10o lbs weight lost, I get frustrated, but then I have to remember that it's not going to leave overnight. Just be patient and take it one day at a time. I would love to hear about your progress. Fitfalife91

2nd week post op, need support
Hi, go4it09, Yes it is hard, but you have to take it one day at a time. When you screw up (dont do well), you can dwell on it, you have to move forward and dont make that mistake again. The hardest transition for me was waiting to drink 1/2 hour after I ate. But once I got into the habit it got easier. It will get easier Fitfalife91
