  6. Hi Providing you are reasonably fit then I think this would be Ideal for you.. even if you dont lose much the benefit it has it will stop you putting it on if only to get some balance.. It will help STOP diabetes if you dont have it.. Highbloodpressure.. helps to reduce Joint pain in the knees.. so it can only Help! But you have to pass the Clinical assessment prior.. best of Luck! Dawn I am 54
  7. Hi I have been on this SLOW journey since May 2009 Had a Gastric Band fitted Privately in the Uk in Kent under Mr Nisar..BMI My Band was not secured correctly with the staples and flipped over.. So I had to have another Operation 4 months Later to stitch it back in place and have a Fill .. Now settled previously given 5 cc in the band so I am told during the Operation.. I an eating a Normal diet on the Soft side.. Cannot eat dough as it gets stuck but can eat meat if chopped up and chewed well. I eat Porridge or Boiled eggs for Breakfast One Main meal in the afternoon about 4to 5pm dinner sized Plate..eating normal sized portions.. I have some restriction although not enough it seems to get the weight off..I have a back injury so I cannot lose the weight that easy as if I were exercising..;( problems with walking too far.. I am 54 passed the menopause.. Metobolics on a go slow I think?? How Much in cc's on average is needed to start losing even if its a only a pound a week.. Has anyonne done a Poll on this question? Help needed Please???? Cheers Dawn
  8. Hi thanks for your response! I had lost about 11lbs in all but have put on 4 of them over the post op period but I am eating regular meals 3 times a day.. and have lapsed on the carb side so I guess if I was as strict as you I would lose more... I am starting Swimming Next week daily so this could kick start the Metobolics.. I have had 0.5mls in the Band this week also so we may see some Loss its just tweaking things a bit! Well done you anyhow keep up the good work!!
  9. Can I ask how long you have had the band? and what are you eating? I had my band on 5th March and have lost very little in fact since my op about 7ibs in a whole 7 weeks. and now it is static! I went for a fill on Tuesday and the doc only put in 0.5 ml and tried 3 times to get it in! Poking and prodding me>> Can you help should he have put more saline in ? I'm told it takes time but you have lost a hell of a lot in such a short time I wanna know what you are doing? and how much saline you have for your restriction.. I dont think I ahve enough! Please Help! Desperate>> Dx:confused:
  10. Keeping Blog above..
  11. I have similar to take and WAS advised to take them in syrup form if you can get it or as effervescent. Take the powder on a spoonful of yoghurt or something that will slide down easy and not taste bitter. Good Luck! Should be okay.. Dawn:thumbup:
  12. Well we are clear of the Pre Assessment and onward to the 5th March Op day!
  13. Thats Ok steer clear of that One!

Hi well all I can say is I have had the Gastric Balloon in for 7 months and NO is my answer it gives me Reflux and Regurrgitation and is not pleasant. As for the Band I would say it was similar and not advisable..best to keep any pressure Off the Band.
  16. Very well done and Good Luck I start my Liquid diet Tommorow!
  17. I totally agree with this comment you have done so well without the fill and it is not always Necessary for fills depends on how the band was fitted initially.. Doctor seems to have done a Good job! The Stuckness is being caused by the Food intake and consistency of the food try chopping it up more or having soup ansee the difference.. Also dont drink water when you eat your meal unless you try the ice trick where you sip the water that has melted in the glass. its all about the food going down slowly... if you have a Fill this will restrict and make it worse.. You are doing fine if you are losing 2/2.5 a week and its steady. Good Luck!
  18. Thank look forwaed to coming onboard! Hi Everyone! Gx:thumbup:

Hello I have been reading your Blog! I think this is the Port has the wound healed over.. if so then I am sure this is what you are feeling as its on the right the stomach is on the Left hand side.. If you have any concerns call your surgeon or GP not sure where you are USA or UK but do it it will make you feel more in control and stop u worrying.. Good Luck! Dawn Uk
