Help! No loss since July...& now gaining...
No problem Jennifer! That tilapia sounds delicious. Oh and the protein bars I like are the Zone Perfect, the chocolate Peanut Butter. They are 210 cals, 7g of fat, 24 carbs, and 14g protein. A little high in the cal/carbs, but worth it. I have one every morning, and have done that since surgery. They really keep me going!:smile2:

Help! No loss since July...& now gaining...
Jennifer, I'm really sorry to hear that you are going through this. I know how difficult it is to lose the weight and really work at it. As for foods, I've found seafood and fish to be my best friend because of all the Protein. During the week, I have fish or seafood every single night for dinner. For lunch, I eat tuna or a turkey wrap that I make at home, something like that can have alot of protein, which is what you need the most. Just get some lunchmeat (low fat) some low fat cheese, and anything else you like and throw it in a low carb tortilla. It tastes good and really helps you stay full because of the protein. I don't have a sweet spot either, and feel like I can eat alot, but it's all about self control. Other things I found that work for me are string cheese, chili from Wendy's, Protein Bars. Stuff like that. chicken is also great for protein, I make salads with chicken quite a bit. It's all about finding what works for you and keeps you satisfied, but try to focus on the protein. That's what you need most at this point to help you with the loss. BEST OF LUCK!

Looking to talk to people who may regret getting banded
SassyB, thanks for the reply, sounds like you and I are in the same boat. I've had 5 fills and my doctor wouldn't do anymore than that because I have so many issues with pb's and vomiting, which I can understand his hesitation. However, I don't feel any restriction either. So I'm getting all the negative side effects of the fills, but not the positive. You are right, it is a lifestyle change, and I guess that's what I'm learning from all of this. That I have the willpower to do it, and so do you! Keep up the good work and don't lose hope like i seem to be, lol!

Looking to talk to people who may regret getting banded
Maybe you're right, maybe that's all the band has to offer me is to help me with my willpower. I just don't know how long that can last, you know? I didn't have much willpower before surgery. I am really proud of myself for coming this far, but I wish that I was getting fuller on smaller amounts of food like other people and staying fuller longer. Especially with the holidays, I put my willpower in question alot. I really don't want to fail, I'm just really struggling with this. I know the band isn't a cure all or answer to everything, but I'd like to get the benefits from it that others do....Congrats on the 4 lb weight loss, that's great!

Band Getting Removed on 11/30
I would LOVE to talk to you about this! I am going through the exact same thing. I was banded Maty 20, 2009 and am miserable with the same problems you are having. I feel really alone about this whole thing.

Looking to talk to people who may regret getting banded
I think it helps sometimes with the willpower, but all in all that to me is not worth everything I've gone through as far the surgery and expenses are concerned. My doctor told me to wait awhile before I consider having it removed. And the thought of having it removed makes me really upset because then I feel like I've failed with it. And I also don't want to go through another surgery.

Looking to talk to people who may regret getting banded
It's a very long story. Yes I have had a good loss, but it's been my own willpower. This "tool" hasn't helped me along in my journey at all. I feel like I have nothing but problems with it. My doctor says there is nothing he can do. Sure, it's helped me stay motivated, but it hasn't helped me with my weightloss the way it does most people. It's a long complicated story, one that would take quite a while to explain. But short and simple, I'm not happy with this band and regret it. I have nothing but problems everyday because of it.

Looking to talk to people who may regret getting banded
Hey all, I was banded May 20, 2009. While I've lost 76 pounds so far, I credit that all to my willpower. I was just wondering if there is anyone out there who has regretted getting banded? I would really be curious to talk to someone who maybe is going through or has gone through what I'm going through. I won't post my whole story on here and bore everyone. But if you are someone who has regrets, please reply, I'd love to know I'm not alone. thanks so much.

How do you GAIN weight with a lap-band?
I have not gained any weight since my surgery, (KNOCK WOOD!) but I know that I could very easily. Just like the others have said, it's the slider foods. If I were to sit and eat ice cream and chocolate on a regular basis, I know that my weight would go up. I have to be very careful about it.

The Big No-No's
Lately I've had problems with deli turkey, which used to be a favorite. And recently, after my last fill, PEANUT BUTTER, which is one of my favorite things in the whole world. I'm mad about that!

Has anyone had a colposcopy/biopsy?
thanks for the replies! I had the colposcopy and biopsy on Friday afternoon, not much pain. Uncomfortable though! Now just to wait for the results, which is the hardest part. Thanks again everyone!

Has anyone had a colposcopy/biopsy?
I just heard from my gynecologist yesterday that my annual pap smear came back abnormal and that I have to have a coploscopy and a possible biopsy. I've read up on it online and a friend of mine had it done as well. She said it was super painful and awful, but she tends to be a bit of a drama queen, so I was looking for some other input. If anyone has been through it, could you just help me out with your experiences? Thanks so much!
-
Do you or have you ever used Motrin, Ibuprofen, etc, while banded?
Hi all. I am having a gynecological biopsy done on Friday and my gyn suggested using Motrin beforehand to help ease the pain. I know we aren't "allowed" these types of drugs, but has anyone used them while banded? I only plan on using it the one time before the biopsy. Just wanted to hear thoughts.
