Your advice; do you think i am too tight?
I am having a very similar situation...i probably could have wrote this myself... I don't feel like i am too restricted because of the days i CAN eat.. and i can chugg water... it doesn't make sense.. and i know what your saying about not wanting an unfil. i like the results.. it just sucks when i can't eat.

hurts to eat? not a lot of restriction.
wow. thanks! hope you feel better.

hurts to eat? not a lot of restriction.
ok so i am at 5.5cc's in a 12 CC band. ever since this last fill i have a hard time eating without it either getting stuck, or hurting. now, i know first thing that come to mind is, too tight. but.. i doubt thats it. i still can eat a decent amt of food.. it's just that if i don't chew enough or eat certain things it gets stuck and hurts to go down... but when i eat mushy foods, it still hurts.. and i can still get a decent amt in...this just doesn't make sense. the pain goes away once it passes through the stoma. thats what it seems like to me. it's hard to explain. but i feel like the restriction is fine.. but why do i have pain? i can't imagine my whole life like this.. any ideas? this happening to anyone else?

I am Embracing my body
WOW! i get chills seeing how everyone appreciates these kinds of posts. to be honest, i talked from my heart in a positive light.. and that was enough for me.. but if it really touched someone, it gives me chills. really, we're all in the same boat. and we need more positive posts and comments like these. this was all so scary at first.. but as i shed more pounds, i continue to embrace my body everyday. thank you all for the positive feedback.

I am Embracing my body
throught this journey, I've had ups and down. Doubts and fears. Today I am embracing my body. I love to feel my curves that were hidden under all the fat. I am taking on a new found perception of myself. Major influences in my life has brought this on and I am more confident than ever. keep the shiney side up!

honw long does it take to actually start losing??
Hello, from experience this is a very sloooooow process. but it is also the healthiest way to lose. i too became beyond frustrated.. it wasn't until these last 2 weeks i have started losing again.. i got my 3rd fill on 3/3 and it seems to be working wonders. granted i have been under A LOT of stress and i tend to not eat.. so maybe i shrunk my pouch that way? who knows.. but whatever it is, it's working so far *knock on wood* It will happen for you, i thought it would never happen because you just can't imagine it. but keep strong and focused on why you got the surgery to begin with.. :-) good luck

finally lost a few lbs.
thank you. this is THE HARDEST thing i have ever dealt with in my life. It's hard to be angry because we have a great relationship. he just need to "find himself"
-
finally lost a few lbs.
thank you.. and your 100% correct.
-
finally lost a few lbs.
yea, sorry was very vague. it's causing me so much pain, stress and anxiety that i can't eat. no appetite.
-
finally lost a few lbs.
but not in a good way :-( i can't eat. not because of a fill or even the band. I know this is sooooo off topic.. but my husband is going through "saturns return" some people call mid life crisis.. and is having doubts about his life and if he's happy.. sooo as a result. no eating for me... arrgh! wish i wasn't losing weight this way though.

honw long does it take to actually start losing??
wow. good for you!!! thanks for the feedback... soooo frustrating. and for some reason my Dr only does 1cc per month. which will take me 8 mths to get where you are.. if that's "my sweet spot" of course. i'm gonna say something on 3/3 when i go for my 3rd fill..

honw long does it take to actually start losing??
so i was banded 11/09 and i lost a total of maybe 15 lbs since then. most of it was within the first 3 weeks of being banded. I had 2 fills so far totaling 4.5cc in a 12 cc band. i definitely eat a lot less.. but i am not at my "sweet spot" i don't feel full for long and i can eat more than i should. when am i really going to start to lose? i know about exercise and gotta diet thing. but i see lots of people on here that lost like 50 lbs in 4 mths and so on... why not me?? i feel like a failure sometimes.

Its not always rainbows and butterflies...I NEED HELP!
Hey Bill, I'm from LI myself.. so i know all about the shoveling.. ugh! well, we have some similiarities... I had my 2nd fill on 1/27 and for about 4 days i know what you mean about the 1/2 taco thing.. but after the 4th day i felt like i never even had a fill!!! so frustrating and much much slower of a loss than I expected. I think it's great you are exercising... a slice of pizza to me is not harmful if you run 15 miles a day or even every other day. personally, I will still eat pizza, or chocolate every now and then because I refuse to feel like I am on a diet for the rest of my life. I know i will fail if i think that way. For me the purpose of the band was to help cut down on portion size. Granted I most definitely watch what i am eating the majority of the time. I think it's a little unfare for your wife to come down on you so hard.. but then again.. she's probably just trying to motivate you in her own way. I'm sure you have talked to her already.. but I would tell her how that bothers you. you need ALL the support you can get.. but positive support. Keep up the good work. I think your doing a good job...

Hungry again after 2nd fill
Ok so.. i had my 2nd fill a week ago. up until maybe sunday i felt great restriction.. it was obvious i couldn't eat as much. i was full faster and longer.. one of those things you never want to end. well... it ended. because since sunday i have noticed i am hungier, and not as full as quick. why??? is this normal? i'm afraid my band has a leak or something. does this happen to anyone else? maybe my brain is playing tricks... who knows. i still have lost only 15 lbs since surgery 11/23/09

How do you know??
thanks for the reponses.. There is no doubt i every now and then make a bad food choice. For the most part i have changed how i eat, and incorporated more veggies.. When it's close to "that time of month" I lose all will power for a few days... i am definitely i need of a fill... more like several... i have an appt weds.. but i am allowed only 1cc at a time each month. so apparently i wont have proper restriction for possibly another 4 / 5 mths.

How do you know??
How do you know if your streching your pouch? i have a 12 CC band and a total of 3.5cc's right now. i feel like i can eat anything.. not exactly the amount i used to eat.. but maybe close to it. for example.. yesterday i was starving.. i ate 1 slice of pizza (no crust), 1 pepperoni wheel, and 1/2 of a small calzone. that's a lot, and a lot of bread.. but i wasn't overstuffed.. and i didn't PB. so how do i know if i am hurting myself? i obviously need a lot more restriction.. is there warning signs of streching? thanks

Feel like I don't even have the band
wow. good to know i am not the only one. hahah. we really do have very similar cases here. It's almost like once you get close to a month after a fill, you start going hungry again.. very strange. i get my next fill on the 27th of this month.. can't wait!! i guess i need to be more patient. I need to start working out too. the Wii fit is not active enough, i will have to look into the EA active one. although my best bet is to join Lucille Roberts.. they have classes that kick your a$$.. hahaha. thanks for the feedback. and good luck on your loss!!

Feel like I don't even have the band
Ok.. so i was banded Nov 23rd. i have lost only 15 lbs so far. In about 1 week it will be 2 mths since banding and I feel like i don't even have the band. I still eat whatever I want basically.. granted portions are slightly smaller.. but even so, my weight loss is at a complete stand still. I am only blaming myself because I dont always chose the right food choices.. but i do for the most part eat better and less. This week i have been starving!! and i can get anything down sooooo thats not good. I really am determined to work at this.. but my tool ain't co-operating with me so far.. lol. If I were atleast a little less hungry and full a lot faster, I know it would be cake for me. I guess it's because I may be one of those people that need A LOT of restriction to suceed. right now I have a 12 CC band and 3.5 CC's of Fluid. Any suggestions, Idea's, words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated. thanks!!

Ready 2 give up
hey dowhatitdo1, we got banded within a few days from each other from what i rememnber.. i definitely feel your frustration.. and at the same time, i won't allow myself to feel like i am on a diet forever. I just make better decisions.. i still eat the bad stuff.. just not in large quanities. the weight loss is slow.. but thats ok. because atleast it's a loss.. and not a gain. right? besides, the slower the better for your body.. you lose fast all sorts of crap can happen. just hang in there.. keep an eye on your fills and restriction..your gonna do great.

Post surgical Infection..HELP!!
sounds like phlebitis. My sister has the same thing from an IV years ago. her arm is still red to this day. have it checked anyway. doesn't seem to be related to the lapband. good luck
-
who else started mushies day after surgery?
Ok, so my sister is a few months behind me with doing the lap-band. i am already banded as of 11/23, she will be banded in mid january. we saw the same nutritionist and my sister had her appt with nutritionist today. They got on the subject of me and the nutritionist was taken back at the fact i am eating mushies right now. she said i need to be on liquids for 6 weeks before mushie foods. But.. my surgeon, bariatric coordinator and everyone involved in the office all has me on mushie foods right away.. what is the reason for liquids for 6 weeks?? i dont want to be doing harm.. but i am also listening to my surgeon.. so i think i'm doing the right thing. I'm just curious if there are any other bandsters out there that started mushie day 1. ohh, and the nutritionist has no affiliation with my surgeon office. thanks!
