  1. Tom that sounds excessive. Wow. Cheri-I've been on here for a long time and I'm super active on the cycling thread. I suppose I don't have much of a life either.
  2. C, Which airport do you typically fly out of? Cols or Toledo? I'm guessing Findlay doesn't have much of airport, maybe a landing strip in a corn field somewhere??? If Columbus we should coordinate our flights if we can. Ya know? Start the party early. J
  3. D if I can go you can go. I'm in school too. It's only a weekend. And if you don't go with everyone else going you'll be the biggest tool ever.
  4. I'll wear a Tshirt but considering the mess I made last year with the shirts for our first meeting I'm not down for creating them this year. Just sayin'. Has anyone tried to call the hotel for reservations? When I did on Monday they hadn't gotten the group in the system.
  5. Hi my gay brothers and sisters. Hope you all are doing well. It's very slow around here these days. Someone chime in with a story or an NSV or something.
  6. I get in trouble when I take bites that are too big. I know that sounds like a no brainer. I've learned to nibble at sandwiches which were the first things to send me to PB. I suppose because they weren't on the end of a fork. But recently I made some cooked red cabbage. I've not had it for years, but I used to eat big BIG mouthfuls of the stuff. YIKES! One of those and 5 minutes later I'm standing over the toilet bowl. Sometimes I still pack my mouth. Most times I realize it before I swallow and I either spit it out or chew swallow some, chew swallow some. I'm amazed it's not automatic not to do that anymore.
  7. Mary, Please don't let your lack of weight loss keep you from going to the doctor. Really we all got the band because we need medical help with getting the weight off. He won't judge you and if you need a fill you're not going to get it any other way. Hugs. J
  8. there was me and one other person. period. A bust if it weren't for my sweetie going too. But I knew no one was going before I left home and really didn't care. I had a blast.
  9. I went to vegas and met ONE local bandster. But me and my partner had a great time. It was awesome. Why don't you fly? You'll fit in the seats no problem, ya know. Come on!!!!!!!!! Even if the conference is a bust it will be a riot with the lot of us being in the same place at the same time.
  10. I already called dibs on sharing a room with BG. But ZZ is thinking of going, maybe D, maybe C???? gogogogogogogogogo (subliminal message) Come on girls. Whatcha thinking. I can't be the only one who plans her life 6 months in advance. Who am I kidding I have a strategic 5 year plan with Gantt charts and everything. I've got lists for my next master plan which starts in 2010. Anyway, I think it would be an amazing weekend if we all could be in DFW at the same time. Brandon and Stef will be there too, right?
  11. IT reallly depends on the what it is. Often it's because of texture. Vegetables get me, like broccoli or cabbage. Sometimes I'm in a hurry or something.........I dunno....
  12. C, I didn't PB until 6 or 8 months out. Trust me you'll WANT to PB if you need to! BG, Good to see you poke your head in! :scared2: J
  13. Cool ZZ, I can't wait to meet you. C, you should feel stuff as you begin to eat things here and there. Mornings are much tighter for me than evenings. HP, Sweet looking bike you have there. Pity you can't go to Texas with the rest of us crazies. Maybe something will pan out and you'll be able to make the trip.
  14. I don't hate you. If I weren't already in MI I wouldn't drive up just for a bike ride. I understand. DFW looks like $150 for the conference, or $100 for early bird. $99/night for the room. Flight costs. From Columbus it's about $300.
  15. D, HP, and C are any of you thinking about going to DFW in October for the conference? BG and I are talking about it. And D, TX and ZZ have chimed in.
  16. I know it doesn't feel like you have restriction, and literally you can eat, but by the nature of the band and it being sown onto your stomach there is some restriction, you are not as open as you used to be. I'm not advocating that you test my theory by eating like you used to, not chewing well and stuffing down normal quantities (or more). I'm not denying you can EAT, but there's a belt around your stomach that won't allow it to stretch like it used to before surgery.
  17. hi all.....hope you are well
  18. kristylyn, When you I see the words, "everyone" on here I just cringe a little. There's one thing I've learned and that there's not one thing that "everyone" does the same! When my losses are slower than I want them to be I track my calories on fitday.com or sparkpeople. It makes me more aware of my portion sizes and what I put into my mouth. Like, golly do I really want to eat that piece of brownie if I have to put it in my journal. Then there are other times I just eat what I like, though not too much of it...... Good luck on your journey. J
  19. It does get better. I had to use my full 2 weeks off to recover. Please don't fret!!! It will get better!
  20. I'm going to guess you've figured this one out, but if not, here goes. Go to the forum you think best suits your questions. If you don't know hit the genral forum. There will be a start a new thread button. Hit that and a typical box will appear for you to type your question. Hit submit and wait. Someone will give you an answer. Or you can post it here, we get off topic all the time, but you'll get limited points of view because most people don't read this thread, just 10 or so regulars... HTH. Juli
  21. Stormy That's so cool that you've discovered cycling is fun and a great way to burn calories! Welcome to the biking thread! Juli
  22. I rode in KY yesterday. 57 miles of HILLS. Funny the people from southern Virgina called them bumps. But it was fun and good. I didn't ride today, too stressed about getting home to get homework done, so we drove back this morning. The saga of my shoes/pedals continues. Apparently I lost a screw from my shoe at lunch time 3/4 of the way though the ride. (Don't tell me to check my screws on my shoes, I will be.) Anyway I clicked in and at the first stop could not click out. I however called to my friend and stayed up right until she could help me get my foot out of my shoe. Two guys stopped to help and they got my shoe off the pedal after some doings...I took off both cleats and rode the rest of the ride on the platform side of the pedal. Fortuneatly most of the monster hills were behind us and it was only 17 miles from the end.... The people were great and the ride was organized. Good to be out in it. J
  23. That's one way of using the tool isn't it? Funny. Gross, but I've got to say, I'm laughing. :blushing:
  24. There are all kinds of sliming. Projectile being the one that will make you run, not walk away from people as quickly as possible. You, grasshopper, have much to learn and experience. There's the slow steady build slime and PB. And the how not to have the toilet Water splash you in the face stance. But believe it or not there's the returning to the table and looking at your plate and actually wondering if you should continue eating or throw it away debate. That's some real crazy stuff. You'll only decide to continue eating once or twice. Promise.
  25. I did run three miles today. I didn't want to do it, but I did it. I get a gold star on my exercise chart.
